Terms and Definitions Alcohol consumption is prohibited nightly during quiet hours (11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.) AND there is a complete alcohol ban for all long weekends. All campsites with fire pits have the $8.80 fire permit purchased at the same time as the nightly camping fees. 2 Reservable Percentage: Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court: 100% reservable Tunnel Mountain Village I: 100% reservable Tunnel Mountain Village II: 100% reservable Two Jack Lakeside: unserviced campsites and otentiks: 100% reservable Johnston Canyon: 100% reservable Two Jack Main Equipped Campsites: 100% reservable Kiosk Hours: Kiosk hours vary between the different campgrounds and the time of year. For Equipped Camping, campground hosts will be able to assist in person between checkin and 9 p.m. After Hours Registration: After hours, please refer to signage in kiosk window. After hours registration is not possible for the Equipped Camping program, because campground hosts need to be available to bring some of the equipment to the sites and give the orientation. Registration for these sites must occur before 8:45 p.m. Check In Time: Regular camping: Any time after 2:00 p.m. Equipped Campsites at Two Jack Main: Check-in must occur between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Visitors may request a later check-in time if absolutely necessary. Latest possible checkin is 8:45 p.m. Visitors who would like to arrive at the campground earlier may enjoy the rest of the park while waiting for their campsite to become vacant (a valid national park entry pass is required). Check Out Time: Before 11:00 a.m. Quiet Hours: 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Campers are expected to keep noise to respectful levels during all hours of the day. Maximum Length of Stay: 14 nights Maximum Persons per Site: 6 people Maximum Vehicles per Site: 2 vehicles

3 ** Truck campers and motorhomes count as 1 vehicle + 1 camping unit Maximum Camping Units per Site: Regular campsites: 2 tents or 1 RV/camper and 1 tent. ** Truck campers and motorhomes count as 1 vehicle + 1 camping unit Equipped Campsites: No camping units are permitted other than the one provided. Generator Policy: Use of Generators permitted: 9:00 a.m. 10:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. daily. Amperage of Electrical Service: 15 and 30 Amp service in all serviced campsites. Equipped Campsites: No electrical service available. Fire Policy: Fires are only allowed in designated fire rings provided by Parks Canada, and the client requires a fire permit. The use of portable wood burning fire rings, stoves etc. is prohibited. The use of portable propane fire places is allowed. Firewood is available at the campground and included in the cost of a fire permit ($8.80). Fire Ban in effect 11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m. in all campgrounds. All reservable campsites with fire pits have the $8.80 fire permit included with the nightly camping fees at the time of booking. Alcohol Policy: Alcohol consumption is prohibited nightly during quiet hours (11:00 p.m. 7:00 a.m.) There is a complete ban on the possession of alcohol at Banff National Park campgrounds for all long weekends. Pet Policy: Pets must be kept under control and on a leash at all times. They must not be left unattended. Please keep all pet food stored inside. See Bare Campsite Program brochure upon arrival for more information. Equipped Campsites: Pets are NOT permitted inside the tent, but they are permitted at the campsite. Campground Locations: Tunnel Mountain Village I Campground is located within 8 kilometres of the Banff town site. Tunnel Mountain Village II and Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court campgrounds are located within 5 kilometres of the Banff town site.

Turn left at the stop sign - stay in the left lane for 1 km - turn left on Tunnel Mountain Road at Rocky Mountain Resort. - Travel 2.9 km to Tunnel Mountain Village I - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register. - Travel 4.5 km to Tunnel Mountain Village II and Trailer Court - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register. Coming from the West on the Trans Canada Highway: Take the third exit into Banff. Merge to the right - stay in the left lane for 1 km - turn left on Tunnel Mountain Road at Rocky Mountain Resort. - Travel 2.9 km to Tunnel Mountain Village I - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register. - Travel 4.5 km to Tunnel Mountain Village II and Trailer Court - to enter turn right - stay in the left lane to register. Two Jack Lakeside Campground is located on the Lake Minnewanka loop road, 12 km from the town of Banff. Directions to Two Jack Lakeside campground: Coming from the East on the Trans Canada Highway: Take the first exit marked Banff/Minnewanka Loop. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for Cascade Pond/Two Jack Lake/Lake Minnewanka, and merge onto Lake Minnewanka scenic drive. - Continue straight past Cascade Ponds - Turn right to stay on Lake Minnewanka scenic drive km to Two Jack Lakeside campground to enter turn right stay in left lane to register Coming from the West on the Trans Canada Highway: Take the third exit into Banff marked Banff/Minnewanka Loop. Open campfires are not permitted in the campground. The maximum people per campsite is 6. Maximum 1 RV per site. Maximum 2 vehicles. All washrooms have hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. There are no picnic shelters in this campground. Tunnel Mountain Village I (618 sites, 557 reservable): Campers who want to camp together, please take into consideration that there are fire and no-fire loops when selecting a site. There are designated loops with food lockers for walk-in campers. The maximum people per campsite is 6. Maximum 1 RV per site. All vehicles (maximum 2) and tents must be set up or parked on the gravel area of the campsite. All washrooms have hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. There are no picnic shelters in this campground. Tunnel Mountain Village II (218 sites, 197 reservable): Special notice : Starting May 15, due to construction for facility upgrades, Tunnel Mountain Village 2 Campground will be closed for the rest of the 2016 operating season. Campers who want to camp together, please take into consideration that there are fire and no-fire sites when selecting a site. Electrical-only sites (15 and 30 Amps) can accommodate units up to 50 feet (15 metres). There are 37 electrical sites with firepits. There is a 28-site walk-in tenting area. Campers must park in the designated parking area and access campsites by foot. There are limited food lockers for walk-in campers.

6 A municipal bus service is located at the entrance of the campground. The maximum people per campsite is 6. Maximum 1 RV per site. Maximum 2 vehicles. All showers and washrooms have hot and cold running water and flush toilets. Two Jack Lakeside (64 unserviced sites 57 reservable; 10 otents all reservable) All sites at Two Jack Lakeside have fire pits. All campsites are unserviced (no electrical sites) and vary in size. The sites are suitable for tents and RVs up to 27 feet (8 metres) in length. There is a 23-site walk-in tenting area. Campers must park in the designated parking area and access campsites by foot. There are food lockers for walk-in campers. The maximum people per campsite is 6. Maximum 1 RV per site of up to 27 feet (8 meters) in length. All vehicles (maximum 2) and tents must be set up or parked on the gravel area of the campsite. All washrooms have hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. There are picnic shelters in this campground. Johnston Canyon (132 unserviced sites 119 reservable) All sites at Johnston Canyon have fire pits. All campsites are unserviced (no electrical sites) and vary in size. The sites are suitable for tents and RVs up to 27 feet (8 metres) in length. There are food lockers for walk-in campers. The maximum people per campsite is 6. Maximum 1 RV per site of up to 27 feet (8 meters) in length. All vehicles (maximum 2) and tents must be set up or parked on the gravel area of the campsite. Washrooms have hot and cold running water, flush toilets and showers. There are picnic shelters in this campground. Two Jack Main (Equipped Camping): See Equipped Campsites Description section below. Equipped Campsites Description: Two Jack Main Group Campground has unserviced sites. There are individual sites in specific loops that are designated Equipped Campsites. There are no showers (visitors looking for showers are suggested to visit the Banff Upper Hot Springs, which is an enjoyable and affordable hot pool experience that includes showers in the Town of Banff). There is hot and cold running water in the washrooms. There are flush toilets and access to picnic shelters with wood stoves inside. The picnic shelters are used by 2 loops each and are a shared space. Those staying in an Equipped Campsite will also have access to the Common Site, a larger campsite that will be equipped with bug tents and picnic tables. Campers are welcome to use this space any time that the camping 101 program is not being run. Campers are asked not to prepare food on this site. Equipped Campsites include the following equipment: 6 person tent, stove, propane, sleeping pads, lantern, broom kit and welcome package. Also included are an orientation from a campground host (where the host will explain how to use the gear, how to keep a clean campsite, where campground amenities are located, etc.) and the camping 101 program (this program is run daily by a campground host at the Common Site and covers basic camping skills such as fire building) o There are currently 3 Loops for Equipped Campsites in Two Jack Main Campground: Loops numbered 1, 2 and 3. o Sleeping pads are either made of foam or the therm-a-rest style (inflatable). They are comfortable and get you off the ground, but are not thick like an air mattress.

7 Smoking is not permitted inside the tents provided. Pets are not permitted inside the tents provided. However, pets are permitted on the campsite. *** Note: Visitors can book Equipped Camping sites on the Reservation Service by selecting Parks Canada Accommodations under Reservation Type. Roofed Accommodation Description: Roofed camping is available at Two Jack Lakeside campground. The 10 otentik units are 100% reservable. $120/night (includes GST). A minimum two night stay is required for reservations. One night stays are available to those without a reservation. The otentik, exclusive to Parks Canada, is a cross between an A-frame cabin and a prospector tent mounted on a raised wooden floor. This water resistant accommodation is built to withstand diverse weather conditions and no set-up is required by campers. Lake front sites with a lake facing outdoor deck presents an ideal location for morning coffee and relaxation. A 19 x 24 ft wide tent provides plenty of room for families or groups of friends A sleeping area for up to six accommodates two queen-sized and one double-sized bed with high density foam mattresses for a restful night s sleep. A spacious living room, with a table and chairs for six, offers a great activity area for inclement weather. Easy to use heater ensures extra warmth for cool mountain nights Lighting and electrical outlets adds the convenience of night time reading, playing cards and games. An outdoor fire pit and a Weber BBQ guarantee the tradition of camp-style cooking. Under-the-bed storage gives extra space for outdoor gear. Bear proof lockers and storage bins keeps food away from wildlife, see Bear Safety Windows that unzip, mosquito screens, and a fiberglass door with a lock permits fresh air movement and locks the tent. Please visit the following website for more information: Internet/Wi-Fi Access: There is no Wi-Fi access at Tunnel Mountain. There are a number of Internet Cafes located 5 km from the campground in the Town of Banff. No Wi-Fi at the Equipped Campsites Fees: For information regarding camping fees for Banff National Park please see our Fees page. If There is No Vacancy for Your Dates: Upon arrival, visitors may try to obtain a campsite at one of the following first-come, firstserved campgrounds: Two Jack Main or Castle Mountain.

Reservation service: RESERVE ( ) 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local park time or General park information: (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, April to September, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time, October to March) or For information and reservations specifically for backcountry camping: Backcountry campsite and shelter reservations can be made up to 3 months in advance of your trip by phone ( ) or in person at Park Information Centers. Reservations are advisable during the peak hiking months of July and August. A non-refundable reservation fee applies. For information and reservations for group camping: Johnston Canyon (min. group size 20 people, max. 25 people) and Two Jack Main (min. group size 20 people, max. 100 people) campgrounds offer group camping. To reserve banff.camping@pc.gc.ca at least 14 days in advance. Terms & Definitions: Site-specific Guests select the specific campsite or accommodation when they make their reservation. All front-country camping reservations made through the Parks Canada Reservation Service (PCRS) are site-specific reservations. Operating Season (Nights) The "Operating Season" is the nights that the campground is open. Sometimes the campgrounds are open for longer than the period for which they accept reservations. Any dates of the "Operating Season" outside of the "Reservable Period" are dates that the campground operates on a first come, first served basis only. Reservable Period (Nights) The "Reservable Period" is the nights for which you can make a camping or accommodation reservation. Note that many campgrounds may be open longer than this period, and operate outside of these dates on a first-come, first-served basis. Kiosk

9 The administration/entrance booth of a particular campground, this is where you check-in and register your arrival. Vehicle Car, truck, motorcycle, truck-camper, motorhome, or recreational vehicle. A motor home pulling another vehicle may count as two vehicles. Camping Unit Tent, tent-trailer, truck-camper, trailer, 5 th wheel, motorhome or recreational vehicle. Serviced Site Refers to a campsite offering either electrical, water, and/or sewer hook-ups or any combination of these services directly on the campsite. Fully-serviced sites offer electrical, potable water, and sewer hook-ups. Unserviced sites do not offer any of these hook-ups. The terms serviced and unserviced refer to the individual campsites; they do not refer to the washroom facilities or other amenities available at the campground. Drive-through Site Campsite where the driver does not have to reverse their vehicle to exit (there is a separate entrance and exit to the individual campsite). Ideal for larger vehicles and trailers. Walk-in Site Campsite which requires some degree of walking to access the site, and therefore requires a tent. Vehicle will be parked a short distance away. Overflow Site Overflow campsites vary from park to park, and may range from a paved area to park a camping unit (not generally suitable for tents) to a more traditional, grassy site. They are unserviced and are not reservable. Accessible Site A campsite which is accessible to guests with limited mobility. Firepit A designated structure for campfires located on a campsite. Check availability, as not all campsites offer a fire pit. In some parks, a fire permit is required to have a fire. In some parks, only communal fire pits are available, and access is shared with other guests. Fire permit

10 In some campgrounds, guests will require a valid fire permit to have a campfire. A fire permit may include firewood. Please refer to the Fire policy section of the QRT for individual campground policies. Firewood In some campgrounds firewood is sold by the bundle, whereas in others a fire permit may give the holder access to the campground wood pile. Please refer to the Fire policy section of the QRT for individual campground policies. First-come, First-served Site Campsites that are available on a first come, first served basis only. These sites are only available to guests who are physically located at the campground. These sites cannot be registered over the telephone or on-line. These campsites may be available for only 1 night or for multiple nights depending on availability. Shoulder Season Shoulder season refers to the season before and after the peak season. While many campgrounds remain open outside of their peak season, the services offered during this period may be limited (please check with the park for more details). Entrance Pass A valid National Park Entrance Pass is required for all visitors to National Parks that have entry fees. Daily Entrance Pass A daily entrance pass permits visitor s unlimited entry to the specified park on a per day basis for the period of time indicated. Annual/Seasonal Entrance Pass An annual or seasonal entrance pass permits visitor s unlimited entry to the specified park for the period of time indicated. Parks Canada Discovery Pass The Parks Canada Discovery Pass permits visitors unlimited entry to the participating Parks Canada national parks and national historic sites across Canada, for a period of 12 months.
