5 GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATION AS APPROVED RISK CONSULTANTS & RISK CONSULTING COMPANIES 1. RISK CONSULTING COMPANIES 1.1 Approval Criteria Companies or organizations that wish to offer risk consultancy service under the Risk Management Assistance Fund (RMAF), must first apply to the OSH Division, MOM. Approval may be granted if the following criteria are met: (i) (ii) (iii) The company has at least 2 risk consultants who are able to provide OSH risk assessment consultancy service and conduct OSH risk assessment training; The company has its own OSH risk assessment methodology; The company is a registered company in Singapore. 1.2 Required Documents All applications shall be accompanied by the following documents: (i) (ii) (iii) A write-up of the organization s technical expertise in OSH risk consulting with details of any specialized field(s); The curriculum vitae of the risk consultants as per format in the attached Annex B; A summary of the corporate risk assessment methodology; Page 4 of 6

6 2. RISK CONSULTANTS 2.1 New Applicants Persons who wish to be approved as OSH risk consultants must satisfy the criteria as set out in Annex B. They must be associated with or employed by an approved risk consulting company or organization. They can apply to MOM through their risk consulting company or organization. Their curriculum vitae should be in the format as set out in Annex A, accompanied by the relevant certificates and documents. 3. 7 CRITERIA FOR APPROVED RISK CONSULTANTS ANNEX B Particulars Educational qualifications Criteria An accredited / recognized Degree* or Masters in Risk Management; Trained in hazard identification and risk analysis with special focus on Occupational Safety & Health Trained in various hazard analysis or risk assessment techniques (HAZOP, Fault Trees, etc) Experience At least 5 years experience in OSH Risk Management Employment Engaged by an approved risk consultancy organization Accreditation Approved trainer for Risk Management * A relevant university degree refers to one, acceptable to the Commissioner, in engineering, physics, chemistry, ergonomics, occupational safety, occupational health or occupational hygiene IMPORTANT NOTE: Approved organisations must have at least 2 Approved Risk Consultants.
