33 Conclusions of the Tests Bluetooth worked at set full speed when using the specified Power class 2 ranges and while being also in motion and spinning The paper machine and other instruments didn't cause any effect on the tests Note: Typically, industrial devices' interference does not reach the 2,4 GHz bandwidth used in Bluetooth BLUEGIGA PROPRIETARY 33

34 What Must be Taken Care-off when Implementing Bluetooth Wireless standards typically do not support fast real-time functions Latency issues i.e. relatively slow response times ISM bandwidth-based protocols are based on besteffort design i.e., the bandwidth cannot be guaranteed and therefore possible problems in air-link must be tackled by designing applications for this; buffering, queuing, etc. The ISM band's high radio load in collision-domain could affect the throughput and response times Use pre-certified Bluetooth components to ensure interoperability and product quality BLUEGIGA PROPRIETARY 34
