The ATAR requirement is set by faculties each course and varies from year to year. The ATAR is applicable to most Australian Year 12 examinations (eg, NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE)) or, an equivalent is determined when you apply. (eg. Queensland Certificate of Education, New Zealand NCEA) A combination of ATAR (or equivalent score) plus additional selection criteria (e.g. portfolio, audition, interview). Check the details your specific degree using Find a course. Not Applicable as an entry score cannot be applied. New course - ATAR and corresponding scores other qualifications not available at this stage. Requirements are to be confirmed The first score is the overall score required, the second score(s) (in brackets) is the minimum score required in each component L-Listening, R-Reading, S-Speaking, W-Writing. For more inmation on other tests and meeting requirements, refer to the University's Language Requirements. The T is the Internet-based TOEFL test. The first score is the overall requirement (total of all components). Students must also achieve the required minimum in other sections (Unless specified as L-Listening, R-Reading, S-SPeaking, W-Writing, the first number in brackets is the writing section, the second number is all other sections). For more inmation on other tests and meeting requirements, refer to the University's Language Requirements. * Double degree medicine degrees are expected to have a domestic ATAR of and an international ATAR of 99.5 or higher (or equivalent scores other accepted secondary school qualifications). Separate requirements apply to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. Music Studies/D Medicine applicants also need to pass an audition/ interview required by the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. The double degree Dentistry program is expected to have a minimum ATAR of 99.5 or equivalent domestic and international applicants. All Dentistry and Medicine double degree applicants must also pass an interview. The University will contact eligible applicants interview. Acceptance to the program will be determined by a Sciences Po and University of Sydney Dual Degree Admissions Committee based on evidence of academic achievement and intellectual readiness, and on applicants own representation of their experience, ideas and aspirations. Applicants need to also meet the minimum admission requirements their degree of choice at the University of Sydney, including language requirements. During years 1-2, students will enrol at Sciences Po, France and pay the applicable fee direct. During years 3-4 international students will enrol in the applicable CRICOS-registered Sydney degree with transfer credits from studies undertaken at Sciences Po. 5 Undergraduate Entry Requirements Guide Students Please note that the entry requirements published are a guide only international students based on requirements and are subject to change. Entry requirements vary from year to year and the entry scores stated here will not necessarily result in an offer of a place. Additional requirements may also apply some courses. For more inmation, please refer to the University s Find a Course website at sydney.edu.au/courses The University of Sydney Undergraduate Entry Requirements Guide international students is not a comprehensive list of qualifications accepted by the University a full list of recognised secondary qualifications visit sydney.edu.au/ ug-int-qualifications For more inmation on UG Entry requirements visit: sydney.edu.au/study/ admissions/apply/entry-requirements/undergraduate-academic-requirements.html GCE A General Certificate of Education Advanced (includes UK GCE and Cambridge overseas qualifications) --All students must complete a minimum of three Advanced Level (A Level) subjects. --No more than four A Level subjects will be considered admission. --Subjects must usually be presented in the same academic year, with at most, one A Level or Advanced Subsidiary (AS) subject which may be included from the preceding academic year or at most one A Level subject which may be included from the following academic year. --Students presenting only three A Level subjects can include one AS subject that has not been undertaken at A Level. --Lower case in the table denotes AS subjects. The combination of grades listed is only a guide and students can meet the entry requirements through other grade combinations. As a guide, an aggregate of grades similar to the aggregate derived the combination of grades listed can be worked out based on A*=140, A=120, B=100, C=80, D=60, E=40, a=60, b=50, c=40, d=30, e=20. Baccalaureate () Diploma. Entry based on total score completed Diploma. University of Sydney Foundation program - The scores can serve as a guide to entry other foundation programs. However, students should note that, depending on the foundation program, the requirements may vary from course to course. Some foundation programs are expressed as a percentage. In this table an 8 is equal to 80%, 9.5 is 95% and so on. Separate requirements will also apply. Canada British Columbia Senior Secondary School Graduation Diploma (2004 onwards) - Grade average from 12 and three other Ministry-developed grade 12 courses based on A=7, B=6, C+=5, C=4.5, P=4, F=1.5. India CBSE All India Senior School Certificate - awarded by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Entry requirement is the total of the best four externally examined subjects (where A1=5, A2=4.5, B1=3.5, B2=3, C1=2, C2=1.5, D1=1, D2=0.5) Indian School Certificate awarded by the Council Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The aggregate is the average of the best four externally examined subjects, including. Indian Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) -Average of the best 5 academic subjects in the HSSC in the states, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Malaysia STPM - Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran aggregate a minimum 3 Advanced Level subjects passed based on A=7, A-=6, B+=5, B=4, B-=3, C+=2, C=1. Partial passes and fails are not included. Subjects must be taken in the same academic year. ulation Certificate (Matrikulasi) - The required cumulative GPA is listed on the transcript and is calculated on the basis that A=4.0, A-=3.67, B+=3.33, B=3.0, B-=2.67, C+=2.33, C=2.0, C-=1.67, D+=1.33, D=1.0, F=0. UEC - Unified Examinations Certificate - The required UEC grade average (A1, A2 or B3) is based on the best 5 subjects* (excluding vocational subjects) taking the numerical value of the grades, eg. A1=1, A2=2, B3=3, B4=4 etc., where a sum of 5=A1 average, 6-10=A2 average, = B3 average. *Combined Medicine degrees require 9 X A1 subjects Norway Vitnemal - Norwegian Certificate of Completion of Upper Secondary School Examinations (Vitnemal fra den Videregaende Skole). Scotland Scottish National Courses at Higher and Advanced Higher levels - The required score is the sum of the best 4 grades at Higher or Advanced Higher levels as follows: --National Courses at Higher Level: A=3, B=2, C=1 --National Courses at Advanced Higher level: A=5.5, B=4.5, C=3.5, D=2.5 For subjects taken at both Higher and Advanced Higher levels, the grade at Higher Level is NOT counted towards the aggregate. Singapore GCE Advanced Level examinations (conducted in Singapore) --Applicants must present at least three H2 subjects and the aggregate can be raised to a maximum of 4 H2 subjects or the equivalent by, --Either one content-based subject (at H1, H2 or H3 level) and General Paper (GP) at H1, --Or Knowledge and Inquiry (KI) at H2 level. --H3 subjects are ranked the same as H2 subjects. --Project Work and Mother Tongue are not included. --The aggregate is the sum of all H2 subjects taken in the same academic year, with at most, one subject from the preceding or following academic year. --If more than three H2 subjects are taken, the best combination will be used. The aggregate is calculated H2 subjects based on A=120, B=100, C=80, D=60, E=40, with half the value H1 subjects ( eg. A=60, B=50 and so on). South Korea (Republic of Korea) Korea Republic College Scholastic Ability Test () 2005 onwards - Overall Standard score is calculated from results in Korean Language, Mathematics and Foreign Language () only. Sri Lanka Sri Lankan GCE Advanced Level Examination - Aggregate of the best 3 Advanced Level subjects based on A=5, B=4, C=3, S=1. Sweden Swedish Secondary School Leaving Certificate - Slutbetyg (from a Gymnasieskolan) - From 2014, the entry requirement is the average of grades based on A=20, B-1, C=15, D=12.5, E=10, F=0. Different requirements apply prior to Switzerland Swiss Federal Maturity Certificate or Federally recognised Cantonal Maturity Certificate - Aggregate is calculated from all 12 subjects and the matura project. The marking scale is out of a maximum 6 with 4 as the minimum pass. This includes relevant Maturity Certificates from the French, German and Italian-speaking regions. Certificate of Secondary Education - awarded on successful completion of Matayom 6. Marks are out of 100 or 4 point GPA scale where A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0. USA (can also be taken outside the US) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) 1 composite score (pre-march )- Total of Critical Reading, Mathematical and Writing test scores SAT1 or American College Test (ACT) composite score. For and onwards, applicants must also achieve a 50% pass mark in the optional essay component of the ACT or new SAT (from ). Until the University publishes new SAT scores, applicants can use the College Board SAT converter as a guide to test scores required the new SATs.
