Coaches will nominate one player that filled this role for the team. Coaches will be voting on the nominations. Coaches cannot vote for their own players. Section 20. AVCA National Awards The AVCA has partnered with NAIA Men s volleyball League to recognize 10 All-American Players and one National Coach of the Year. In order to be eligible for these awards, the Head Coach must be an active member of the AVCA (American volleyball Coaches Association). If the Head Coach is not an active member of the AVCA, nomination forms will not be sent to that respective program for award consideration. Please refer to the AVCA Membership office on how to become a member. NAIA Men s Volleyball Page 27

28 The AVCA has set baseline statistical criteria for each position on the court a player must meet in order to be nominated by his coach. To view those requirements please see the AVCA NAIA All-American Criteria. Nominees are voted based on statistics and other areas the AVCA NAIA All-American Committee find valuable to voting on these awards. Of the ten awards, at least one will be awarded to a setter and at least one to a libero. The other 8 spots will be filled as the committee votes. Player of the Year will be voted by the committee and the Coach of the Year will be voted on by the entire NAIA AVCA Men s Coaches Members. Section 21. SANCTIONS Member Institutions that not meet the requirements as outlined in this manual or do not meet the deadlines as specified, will not qualify for any conference awards or conference post-season playoffs. The conference Commissioner will notify the institution when the sanctions are applied. The institution will have 14 calendar days after notification to appeal the decision.
