3 1. Software Prerequisites TecLocal 4.0 is part of the TecOrder solution which automates the business processes between manufacturers and wholesalers. TecLocal 4.0 can run in different modes, fulfilling different tasks. During the installation it needs to be specified in which mode TecLocal should run. Depending on the selected mode the prerequisites vary. Important Warning Please do not install TecLocal 4.0 if you need to use the following component since it is currently not supported: Silent Commerce (Buyer Mode) If you are using one of the following components you have to update it to TecDTS when installing TecLocal 4.0: TecDTS 2.4 (Buyer and Supplier Mode) TecTransformer Hook (Buyer and Supplier Mode) When using TecReverse Message Add On (Buyer Mode and Supplier Mode) you have to update to TecConnectAddOns when installing TecLocal 4.0. Software Prerequisites Buyer Mode Multiple User Software Configuration - SERVER Tested operating systems Prerequisites for TecLocal 4.0 (Server) Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-Bit, Service Pack 1 Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0: Windows Updates for Microsoft.NET Framework and Microsoft.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 Client and server must be in the same network, i.e. in the same domain Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express with Tools: download SQLEXPRWT_x64_ENU.exe for 64-bit system and SQLEXPRWT_x86_ENU.exe for 32-bit operating systems Go to SQL Server Configuration Manager, activate TCP/IP, restart all SQL services If you want to use a new database for the TecLocal data: Install TecLocal Multiuser Database Maintenance Administration tool and create a new empty database To migrate the application data from existing MS Access Database: Install TecLocal Multiuser Database Maintenance Administration tool, migrate the existing MS Access Database according to the installation guide. 9 2. New Features Unicode Support As TecLocal 4.0 now supports Unicode it is possible to provide the TecLocal User Interface in any language including Chinese. The language can be selected on the login screen. Support of 64-bit systems Independent of the installation mode TecLocal 4.0 now fully supports 64-bit systems. TecAlliance GmbH Page 9

10 2. New Features New MultiUser Database incl. Administration Tool (Buyer Mode Multiple Users) In former TecLocal versions the application data in the multiuser scenario was stored in an MS Access database. This is not supported anymore. Instead a MS SQL 2008 R2 Express database (free of charge, data-base size limited to 10 GB) is used. This TecLocal 4.0 MultiUser Database has a special administration tool which allows a comfortable definition of automatically carried out maintenance and administration task. New Features MultiUser Database Administration Tool Tab Maintenance Area Maintenance : Documents in the Outbound Journal (Process Headers) and Recieved Documents (Received Notifications) can be deleted depending on the date or their age. Area Backup : Backups can be automatically created before performing maintenance tasks. (removal of old Outbound Journal and Received Documents entries) TecAlliance GmbH Page 11

New Features MultiUser Database Administration Tool Tab Size Alerts Actual Database Size : Actual database size in MB is shown Notification Information : Possibility to send automatic Notification when database size reaches a limit incl. definition of the time period (in days) in which the application will check the database size TecAlliance GmbH Page 12

14 3. Additional Changes Windows Registry The settings from Window s registry (resources files and help file version) have been moved to the configuration file or are no longer necessary. Date picker controls New controls that allow selection of dates have been implemented (including checkbox option) TecAlliance GmbH Page 14

15 3. Additional Changes Better usability for search function There is no unwanted tab switching anymore when search is called. The search grid size now fills out the entire screen when application size changes. Changes in configuration settings The DSN settings are no longer used and were replaced with connection strings in the configuration file. Remember checked rows After selection of different tabs, the application will now remember the rows checked by the user. TecAlliance GmbH Page 15

Additional Changes Changes in Inbound Journal sort In the former TecLocal version, if some requests are made with little elapsed time (within a minute), rows in the data grid of the Inbound Journal are wrongly sorted this no longer occurs. Changes in tab selection when a delivery date is in the past In old versions, if a user does a request, selects a delivery date in the past and tries to select another tab, TecLocal did not respond again. Now the application prompts the user to discard the last entries before he continues. TecAlliance GmbH Page 16

Additional Changes Show all tabs in form When the user is in supplier mode and selects a language with long text in tabs (e.g. Russian), now the main form automatically resizes to show all tabs. Logging Two new log files replace the old ones: Error log (ErrLog-yyyyMMdd-HHmmss-PID-ProcessId.log) with all error handled and unhandled messages Message log (MsgLog-yyyyMMdd-HHmmss-PID-ProcessId.log) with all online communication message and other statements TecAlliance GmbH Page 17

Additional Changes The following minor issues were fixed in the latest version: Order tracking not disabled via combo Several changes in the Turkish, Swedish, Russian, French, Dutch, Finish, Hungarian, Polish and Czech translations Limitation of the fields in register 'Dispatch' to 20 characters Improved rendering of empty grid rows Faster opening and displaying of the Journals with a large number of entries and dynamic loading Enhanced performance for journals via Maximum hits control Better marking of invalid dates in Reverse messages via!!! Unstable behavior when changing tabs during request and going back to Requests & Orders was removed Report dialog initialization responses (dialog message visible for the user) when the Client version is to expire or invalid TecAlliance GmbH Page 18

19 4. Removed Components/Functions and known Issues Orderlog functionality Logging of orders and corresponding administration settings controls were removed. Compress Database In the administration panel (menu item Extra) the two options Compress Local Database and Compress Application Database were removed. This functionality is now only available for multiple users and integrated in the new administration tool for the Multi-User MS SQL Database. Dial in support The Dial in tab on the administration screen has been removed as modem connections are no longer required. The Dial-Up Connection radio button group on Users->Connection Rights tab has also been removed. SilentCommerce The function/component SilentCommerce has been removed TecAlliance GmbH Page 19

Removed Components/Functions and known Issues TXML Conversion If you receive reverse messages and store them automatically to your hard disc using TecReverse Message AddOn you need to update to the latest version (TecConnectAddOns ). Export to MS Excel 2013/ MS Word 2013 Exporting documents from Inbound Journal, Outbound Journal and Received documents to MS Excel 2013/ MS Word 2013 is not always working properly Our recommendation is not to use MS Excel 2013/ MS Word 2013 but a previous version instead TecAlliance GmbH Page 20
