3 PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION THE ECG REVIEW COURSE is specifically designed to address a key knowledge gap in electrocardiogram (ECG) the American Heart Association's Adult ECG Course is a program focused on specific ECG recognition skills. This is a pre-course option for ACLS students and other healthcare providers. Skills taught in the ECG module include heart anatomy, basic electrophysiology, normal ECG measurements and basic arrhythmias. The ECG & Pharmacology Review textbook is included in your fee. 5 PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION THE ACLS INITIAL course is designed for healthcare providers who direct, or participate in the resuscitation of patients either in or out of the hospital. The goal of this course is to improve the quality of care provided to adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies by training to American Heart Association guidelines, algorithms and pharmaceutical interventions. Participants must commit to pre-course preparation & be skilled in basic dysrhythmia identification prior to the course. The Initial Course starts at 1200 on Day 1 and 0800 on Day 2. ACLS Provider Manual is required. Participants must read the textbook and take the pre-tests. Participants must be familiar with ECG interpretation, ACLS algorithms, and medications used in the algorithms. Those who fail to complete the pre-course work may be asked to re-schedule the class at the discretion of the instructors. Renewal is every two years. Textbook is required. 9 PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION THE ACLS EXPERIENCED PROVIDER course is designed for experienced clinicians with prior training in ACLS. The course focus is "the next step" in ACLS training. This course provides a stimulus for expert clinicians and practitioners to identify areas in resuscitation that deal with special circumstances. The case based small group sessions involve review of electrolyte abnormalities, toxicology, 12 lead ECG discussion, and cardiac arrest due to special causes. This course is an option for those needing to renew an ACLS provider card. ATLS provides a scaffold for evaluation, prioritization, education & quality assurance aimed at improving the outcomes of trauma patients by teaching established methods of trauma care. This program provides systemic and concise training for the early care of trauma patients. The ATLS program provides participants with a safe, reliable method for immediate management of the injured patient & the basic knowledge necessary to : Assess the patient s condition rapidly and accurately. Resuscitate and stabilize the patient according to priority. Determine if the patient s needs exceed a facility s capacity. Arrange appropriately for the Patient s inter-hospital transfer (who, what, when, and how). Assure that optimum care is provided and that the level of care does not deteriorate at any point during the evaluation, resuscitation, or transfer process CANCELLATION POLICY A $100 service fee and the cost of the materials (if you have received) will be withheld from your payment if cancellation occurs. All AHA BLS courses are two year certifications. The Emergency Medical Responder is the first medically trained person to arrive on the scene of an emergency. The initial care given by an EMR is essential because it usually is available sooner than advanced emergency care. This 44-hour hour course will teach you the basics of good patient care & the skills you need to deliver appropriate care to the victim of an accident or sudden illness until advanced trained personnel arrive. You will learn how to examine patients and learn basic emergency medical skills for both trauma patients & patients suffering from serious medical problems. This course is designed to follow the standards set forth by the State of Minnesota & the U.S. Dept. of Transportation. BLS certification is part of this course. Successful completion of this class will certify you as an EMR in the state of Minnesota.

Successful completion of this course & the National Registry exam will certify you as an Emergency Medical Technician. The objective of this course is to provide the education needed to start a career in EMS. You will gain the knowledge & practical experience to make competent decisions regarding medical and trauma patients in emergent situations. REFRESHER Proof of current EMT certification is necessary to participate in EMT renewal course. Course books are available, but are not mandatory. Current American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers is a pre-requisite! No refunds or rescheduling is granted less than 14 days before the course start date or until course has closed. (Non-employee loses registration fee, employee must now pay to re-take the class.)
