You must have started making plans to visit your grandparents, relatives and friends, watching television during the day, taking a dip in the swimming pool and joining some activity classes with your friends. We wish that you enjoy every minute of this long break with your family and friends. It will be great if you are able to find time to visit museums and monuments, learn new things, explore new areas near your house, play indoor and outdoor games, read as many story books as you can,help your parents and grandparents, go for morning walk and play in the park in the evenings during your long summer break. We are giving you a variety of fun-filled activities and worksheets which you can do during the noon time. Do them neatly and submit the worksheets to your teachers after the vacation. 2 ENGLISH Summer time is fun time. Enjoy this season by participating in lots of fun activities and spending more time with your family and friends. Here are some activities that will help you spend noon time in a very enjoyable way. 1.Design your own scrap book using paper and eco-friendly material. Be creative and use your imagination to design a beautiful cover too. Write your name and paste your own picture on the cover. 2.Collect some information about two authors- Roald Dahl and Ruskin Bond and write a short biography of these authors in your scrap book. 3. Read one book written by each of these authors.

Write a book report of the books in your scrap book. The guideline for writing the report is given below. Try learning these tongue twisters and practice saying these as quickly as possible. We will be organizing an intra class tongue twister competition in the class after the summer vacation.so, learn these tongue twisters and come prepared. She sells sea-shells on the sea-shore. Read the newspaper regularly during your holidays. You may utilize the noon time for this activity when you are at home. Cut five pictures from old newspapers. Paste them in your language notebook and give a caption to each picture. 6 Learn these two poems during your holidays. Learn one more poem from the ones given in your text book. The dame made a curtsy, The dog made made a bow; The dame said, "Your servant," The dog said, "Bow-wow." 7.Visit the following websites under the supervision and guidance of your parents and enjoy doing these grammar exercises and playing grammar games with other members of your family whenever you have some time. MATHEMATICS 1. Learn tables from 2 to Collect information about any two Mathematicians and their contribution to the subject. Also paste their pictures. 3. ROMAN SQUARE This puzzle works like a crossword puzzle, except it uses Roman numerals. Change the numbers in the clues to Roman Numerals. Then write the Roman Numerals in the grid.
8 4. 12 ANGRY NUMBERS The numbers 1 through 12 are really angry! No two consecutive numbers want to be next to each other. Can you help them? Write the numbers in the circles so that no line connects two consecutive numbers. 5. Colour or shade this design to highlight the different shapes or patterns. Use different colours or different shades of pencil from dark to light.
9 6. CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK Cut each piece along the solid lines. You will get three triangles and three quadrilaterals. Try to form the following shapes with the block pieces. What other shapes can you make? You can play this game with your friends. So go ahead and enjoy!
10 7. Challlenge your logical puzzle solving abilities with SUDOKU. Try solving 10 Sudoku puzzles on your own. SOCIAL STUDIES The most fascinating feature of our city is that it has beautiful monuments built by the Sultanate and Mughal dynasty. Take a tour of your city,if possible,during the summer holidays and visit any two monuments, from the list of monuments given below, along with your family members during the holidays. 1) Red Fort 2) Qutab Minar 3) Jama Masjid 4) Jantar Mantar 5) Old Fort 6) Safdarjung s tomb 7) Tughlaqabad Fort Interact with tourist guides there and collect information about the location of the monument, nearest metro station and about the history and architecture of the monument. Click photographs also. Present the information and the photographs in a self designed scrap book. Use craft material to decorate your file. Visit this internet site under the supervision of your parents and do the exercises Learn and enjoy.

13 3. Activity -1 Grow baby plants from seedless plants during your holidays. You will be amazed to know that the top section of a few vegetables like carrot, turnip, onion and potato (some of these vegetables are available in summer season) can be used to grow new baby plants. Follow these easy steps. 1. Put the tops of these vegetables (the ones you get easily at a vegetable store near your house) in a deep dish, leaving some space between them. 2. Pour water into the dish till the vegetable tops are covered by water. 3. Add some water every day to maintain the water level. After 10 days you will observe little seedlings coming out of the vegetable tops. Plant them in different pots.
