3 1 Introduction Welcome to the Audi A3 e-tron Quick Start Guide for configuring and using the Audi connect e-tron services. With the Audi connect e-tron services, it is possible to use a mobile device (e.g. smartphone) or the web portal to call up various details. Furthermore, you are able to activate individual functions of your Audi A3 Sportback e-tron 1) by remote control over a mobile device. Before you can use the Audi connect e-tron services, you first need to register on the A3 e-tron portal and your mobile device must be compatible 2). This brochure is designed to familiarise you in a few short steps with the Audi connect e-tron services and to assist you with their activation and configuration. Following activation, the Audi connect e-tron services act as the remote control to your A3 e-tron. The Audi A3 e-tron connect app allows you to control the charging schedule and the electric air conditioning advance activation, as well as to use your smartphone to call up information on your driving data and vehicle status. Note: The Audi connect e-tron services are Audi connect services that have been specially developed for the A3 e-tron and are governed by the standard equipment of the A3 e-tron available in the specific country. To use any of the other services supported by Audi connect, please observe the following: It is only possible to use the services supported by Audi connect with the optional equipment MMI navigation plus and Audi connect. 4 2 Registration Use the Internet browser to navigate to the website Select your country and your preferred language. Click on Register. Complete the form. Read the General Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy and, after consenting to these, click on Continue. You will be sent a welcome . 4

5 A welcome will shortly be sent to the address you have specified To complete the registration, click on the link Complete registration in the welcome . The internet browser will open and redirect you to the appropriate website. Once successfully registered, enter your address and the password you specified in the registration form for your initial login in the Internet browser. Click on Log in. Your login data allow you to sign into Audi A3 e-tron portal at any time. Note: If you don t see the Registration in your inbox, please be sure to check your Spam folder. 5

6 3 Create your vehicle To activate the Audi connect e-tron services, you first need to create your vehicle in the Audi A3 e-tron portal Once logged in, click on My Connected Cars in the top navigation bar. In this screen, click on Add a new vehicle to create a new vehicle. Make sure that you have the following data ready to hand: VIN 1) and your current mileage. 1) Vehicle identification number, also chassis number 6

7 4 5 6 Enter your VIN. The VIN is the individual reference number of your Audi A3 e-tron. You require this for the identification and configuration of your Audi A3 e-tron portal profile. You can find the VIN on the windscreen or on the door sill panels of your vehicle. Enter your current mileage. Please record the current mileage of your Audi A3 e-tron and enter this value when configuring your account. Doing so identifies you as the owner of your Audi A3 e-tron, which ensures that only you have access to your vehicle via the web portal or the Audi A3 connect e-tron app. Enter a vehicle name. If you wish, you can enter an completely individual name for your Audi. Next, click on Add my vehicle. Note: Six cars can be created per user. 7

8 4 Use the Audi A3 e-tron connect app Using the Audi e-tron connect app requires you to assign an individual 4-digit PIN Log into the Audi A3 e-tron portal and click on My Account in the top navigation bar. Click on Change PIN under Account settings. The pop-up window Please configure your personal PIN appears. Assign an individual four-digit PIN. For the initial assignment of a PIN, leave the box Current PIN blank. 8

9 Download the free Audi A3 e-tron connect app onto your smartphone from the Apple itunes Store and/or Google Play Store. Note: The app is available for compatible 1) ios and Android devices Launch the app and enter your user name. Your user name is the address you registered with on the A3 e-tron portal. Next, enter your individual fourdigit PIN you defined in step 3. Request your registration code to link your mobile phone with your account. Complete the pairing process by entering the registration code sent to your address into the app. 1) Compatible with ios6 and Android or higher 9

10 5 Disconnect mobile device To deactivate the use of your account by a mobile device, you need to remove the device from your list of devices. 1 After logging into the Audi A3 e-tron portal, click on My Account in the top navigation bar. 2 Click on My devices. 3 Select the device you wish to remove and subsequently click on Remove. Complete the process by saving the change. 10

11 6 Audi connect e-tron services This overview only shows an excerpt of the functions available. Further information and detailed descriptions can be found in the operating instructions in your vehicle. Vehicle status Driving data Remote control air conditioning Remote control charging The Audi A3 e-tron connect app and the A3 e-tron portal allow you to call up data on your vehicle status, including for example on the current state of charge, the remaining electric range and the vehicle location. Also information on your last journey, e.g. the average consumption, is available at all times. Start the air conditioning via the Audi A3 e-tron connect app immediately or via individually adjustable air conditioning timers to set the desired temperature in the vehicle before the trip even begins both in summer and in winter. Start the charging process via the Audi A3 e-tron connect app immediately or via individually adjustable departure timers and the vehicle will be charged at the start of the trip. You also have the option of activating the air conditioning before setting off. 11

12 The Audi connect e-tron services can only be used with the A3 e-tron vehicle model. The Audi connect e-tron services are only available within the coverage area of the mobile phone networks supported. The availability of the Audi connect e-tron services varies from country to country. Before you can use the Audi connect e-tron services, a one-time registration is required on the A3 e-tron platform for mobile online services at When registering on the A3 e-tron platform, you must accept the Terms of Use for the Audi connect e-tron services, which you can view at com. You must register within 90 days of taking delivery of your A3 e-tron, otherwise your entitlement to free usage of the Audi connect e-tron services lapses. The Audi connect e-tron services are provided for two years from the time of your registration on the A3 e-tron platform. After this period, the services are renewed once implicitly free of charge for one year, if you have not terminated the services beforehand and AUDI AG still offers the Audi connect e-tron services on the last day of the period expiring. You can cancel the Audi connect e-tron services at any time via the A3 e-tron platform ( by deleting your user account. The Audi connect e-tron services can be used via the A3 e-tron platform or via an app (application software for mobile devices) with the aid of an Internet-enabled (mobile) device (PC, smartphone, tablet etc.). The app is available for compatible ios and Android devices. The use of the app is governed exclusively by the terms agreed to when the app is downloaded and/or updated. The use of the (mobile) device is governed exclusively by the terms agreed with the service provider (mobile network operator, Internet provider); this applies in particular with regard to any connection charges incurred.
