10 10 Firmware Upgrade Instructions Table 6 Troubleshooting (Sheet 2 of 2) Symptom Probable Cause Corrective Action The SEC LED is flashing. Cannot connect to the radio through the USB port. Cannot change radio settings. Wall-mount radio will not turn on. The remote radio will not link up to the master. The SEL-3031 properly detects the encryption card, but the card is in reset and does not have the key set. USB driver not installed properly. Invalid password. The polarity of the power supply wires is reversed. Radio address or mode is set incorrectly. Antennas are not aimed correctly, or there is a bad antenna cable. Firmware Upgrade Instructions Use ACSELERATOR QuickSet SEL-5030 Software and set the KEY setting. This setting must be the same on both radios. You can find this software at Check for active SEL-to-USB drivers from your PC in the Ports section of the Device Manager. If that does not work, uninstall and reinstall the driver and restart your PC. Make sure the SEL-3031 is on before you plug in the USB cable. Install the password disable jumper and change passwords using the PAS command. See the Installation section in the SEL-3031 manual for information on how to disable passwords. Check the correct polarity and reverse if incorrect. The master and remote radios must be set to the same address and have the same SKIP settings. Check that the master radio LINK light is ON and that the NID address and SKIP setting are set correctly on both units. Use ACSELERATOR QuickSet on the radio to issue the RAD command to check for signal strength. If the signal is low, try to re-aim both antennas to gain signal strength and check for bad antenna cables. Refer to the Installation section in the SEL-3031 manual for more information on proper radio installation. SEL may occasionally offer firmware upgrades to improve the performance of your radio. The radio stores firmware in Flash memory, so changing physical components is not necessary. Step-by-step installation instructions are provided with all SEL firmware updates. Please refer to these instructions for upgrading firmware on the device. SEL-3031 Quick-Start Guide Date Code
