1 GAS PROTECTION SYSTEMS Solco Building Products provide the complete gas protection system for the protection of buildings on contaminated land. Bluebay Building Products are the exclusive distributor of the Solco range of Solshield, Solseal and Solsheet Gas Protection Systems. These innovative products have been specifi cally designed to offer the most complete range of solutions for effective protection of buildings from the ingression of natural and radioactive gases such as radon, carbon dioxide, methane and hydrocarbons. The most recognised means of protecting buildings from gas ingress are through the installation of a concrete fl oor slab combined with a suitable gas resistant barrier in conjunction with a passive venting system. Traditional polythene damp proof membranes are not recommended for protecting gas on contaminated land therefore it is suggested that a specialist gas membrane and ventilation system is specifi ed to protect against all relevant gases and contaminants. When installed in accordance with the relevant codes of practice, Solco gas systems provide a defensive barrier to gas ingress as well as a suitable damp proof membrane. Gas Protection Systems Solco Gas Membranes are impermeable and act as barrier to gas ingress and should be continuous beneath the full ground fl oor plan of the building. Solco are able to offer full protection against the ingress of harmful carbon dioxide, methane, radon, and hydrocarbon gases when used in conjunction with Solco Gas Resistant DPCs, Jointing Systems and Gas Resistant Self Adhesive Membrane s Solco Gas Ventilation System, when installed with a Solco Gas Barrier Membrane, helps reduce and disperse concentrations of gases emitting from the ground to acceptable levels. Solco Gas Venting Systems include all necessary accessories to suit the project specifi cation. We are able to provide CAD drawings as well as standard detailing and technical advice in order to support the design on a any specifi c gas ventilation system.
