3 LOWER OPERATING COSTS The CX290B benefits fro a larger fuel tank with a high flow auto stop refuelling pup. Cobined with the coon rail engine s lower fuel consuption and the highly efficient hydraulic syste, this results in longer working periods between refills, of at least two days, boosting productivity. Extended Maintenance Syste (EMS) bushes offer 1,000 hour greasing intervals on the ajority of pins, reducing downtie. Easy to aintain coolers, ounted side by side, and ground access centralised filter bank reduces service tie, keeping your achine working. Low friction resin side shis on boo and dipper reduce wear and increase operator cofort through soother operation. Reduced ownership costs. Increased profitability. OPERATOR COMFORT Revised cab design provides additional leg and foot space. Significant increase in glass area contributes to spacious feeling for the operator. Reclining seat and air conditioning with ultiple vents allows any operator to reain cofortable throughout the day. 4 ENGINE High pressure coon rail engine exceeds Tier III eissions standards and is already equipped for the future ove to Euro IV standards. Robust ladder frae design, with low speed torque, boosts durability for all coponents. Low engine speed contributes to lower noise output and iproveent in fuel consuption. Large capacity exhaust uffler and large diaeter low rev engine cooling fan further reduce engine noise. Standard fuel cooler helps to reduce fuel consuption, while four valve per cylinder engine design, using advanced exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) reduces gaseous eissions. Auto and one-touch idle speed allows the operator to control the engine for axiu efficiency. HYDRAULICS The CX290B builds on the Case heritage of excavator design. The achine has highly efficient piston type pups to axiise pressure and flow. These are controlled by a variable control pup torque syste that atches engine output to hydraulic deand, ensuring high productivity by rapidly reacting to servo lever oveent. A high perforance Super Fine synthetic fibre hydraulic filter ensures a high containation catch, protecting valuable coponents. When the achine is used with a hydraulic breaker there is now no need for additional filters to be used, cutting cost for the custoer. CONSOLE, ENGINE THROTTLE Fully adjustable right hand console includes advanced engine throttle control, for working ode selection. A luinosity sensor in the console display ensures that the graphics are clear and easy to rear in bright sunlight. Centralised layout of switches akes operation easier, while short lever joysticks further iprove controllability. Advanced hydraulic syste with up to 10 auxiliary hydraulic flow settings prograed into the eory, aking it possible to use up to 10 attachents with no anual adjustent to hydraulic circuit. This eans that the operator can change fro a breaker setting of flow and pressure, to a shear setting fro the seat. 4

5 OPERATOR S CAB Upgraded cab has sli pillars and ore glass, including a single piece window on the right hand side, prooting iproved visibility all round the achine and boosting safety. The ain windscreen has a retractable sun visor and can be lifted into the roof space for a clear view of the digging area. Iproveents in cab strength, cobined with viscous cab ounts, result in low best in class levels of noise and vibration. Longer seat slides, adjustable consoles, increase in foot space, a fully reclining seat and air conditioning with nine outlet vents ensure that the operator stays cofortable and productive. The cab is well appointed, with a clock, a large storage box behind the driver s seat, bottle and can holders, a obile phone holder and a cool box that uses the air conditioning syste to regulate internal teperature. 5

6 MAINTENANCE Filters are centralised and reote ounted within large access panels, allowing ground level aintenance and reducing service tie. Case excavators achieve the lowest score in SAE Maintenance score syste, iniising downtie. The fuel tank has both a drain cock and a reovable service plate, to allow for easy cleaning in the case of fuel containation. A green engine oil drainer helps reduce environental ipact as their is no risk of spillage during draining. High flow electric refuelling pup is twice as fast as previous odels, with an auto stop function to ake refilling easier. Centralised greasing systes are available as an option. UNDERCARRIAGE Case undercarriage design has always proised long coponent life and low operating costs. The CX290B has heat treated drive sprockets for extended operation. Robust track guides and iproved track links, with new M shaped seals and increased pin hardness, further boost durability and reliability. The track rollers have a revised profile for lower wear, and the O-ring design prevents the ingress of abrasive aterial, further extending longevity. IMPROVED PIN AND BUSHING LIFE Extended Maintenance Bushings (EMS) are now fitted as standard on all CXB excavators. Low aintenance EMS bushings provide 1,000 hour greasing intervals, greatly reducing daily and weekly servicing for the operator. The bucket pins retain a 250 hour greasing interval. Anti-friction shis in the boo foot and head reduce noise and cut free play, further increasing the Case reputation for durability and reducing ownership and operating costs. 7 ATTACHMENTS/BUCKETS CX290B custoers can choose fro a variety of ain boos and dipper ars to suit different applications, all of which are constructed of heavy duty steel box section with internal baffles to increase torsional rigidity. Deep groove welding ensures that the boos and ars can withstand the stress of high breakout forces, heavy lifting and attachents such as hydraulic breakers, copactors, deolition shears and crushers. With a different choice of boos and dipper sticks, along with a range of buckets fro , there is a configuration to eet the requireents of every custoer s job site. 7
