2 DAY 1: Welcome to the Amalfi Coast You will be met at Naples Capodichino International Airport and transferred to Positano at the splendid Il San Pietro di Positano 5*. Il San Pietro overlooks the bay with a spectacular and worldwide famous view of Positano. A perfect harmony between luxury and simplicity is the secret of its charm and excellence. Time at disposal to visit Positano Despite intense development, Positano has maintained its distinct characteristic of a vertical village and its cheerful architecture with charming nooks and stunning scenery. The whole town is worth seeing with its multitude of houses, domes, arches, alleys and its thousand stairways that climb up along the rocks. Dinner in Positano, taste the Michelin starred restaurant Il San Pietro or the cosy restaurant Carlino, at the beach, both restaurants of the hotel. DAY 2: Exploring the Amalfi Coast Meeting with your personal Tour Assistant, who will introduce you to the use of your Maserati, if you have chosen a self-driven tour, or will present the program of the forthcoming days if you prefer a chauffeured services. Exploring the coast through an itinerary that will drive you through Vietri sul Mare, Minori, Amalfi Halt in Vietri, well known for its production of handcrafted ceramics decorated by hand. Second halt in Minori, whose beautiful beach and the strategic position make Minori, the narcissus of the Amalfi Coast, mainly a seaside resort, however it is also one of the richest cities in history and traditions of the Divine Coast. 3 Afternoon Time at disposal to visit Maiori Maiori, a delightful seaside resort overlooking one of the largest and most beautiful beaches in this area, is one of the gems of the Amalfi Coast. Today it offers various cultural, recreational and leisure activities, you will love walking to the historic centre. Sea lovers can book a boat trip from Maiori to the Grotta Sulfurea, a thermal spring, or to the Grotta del Pannone that preserves interesting stalactites and stalagmites. The next step is Amalfi and time at disposal to visit this gracious town. 5 DAY 5: Discovering Tuscany Departure for Tuscany with a first halt at Bolsena Lake for lunch Lunch at Bolsena - Restaurant suggestion: La Pineta, with a splendid view over the lake. The itinerary leads towards Val d Orcia with a first halt in Bagno Vignoni. First stop at Bagno Vignoni, whose characteristic, besides the thermal waters, is its unchanged structure. In fact, the main square of this town is not like it can be imagined in other places, but it is made by boiling water that flows at 52 C (126 F). On the way to Pienza, approaching Monticchiello, along the renowned zigzagging cypress lined road, a famous professional Tuscan photographer will be ready to shoot you and your Maserati in the incredible natural set offered by the Tuscan countryside, decorated by cypress and gentle hills. A visit to the historical centre of Montalcino with its fort and the churches of Sant Agostino and Sant Egidio is also a must. The second halt is Siena, which will be reached for lunch. Siena, an unspoiled mediaeval city, is the location of the famous Palio, a horse race around the city s shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. 7 DAY 7: Welcome to Florence, Cradle of the Renaissance Morning Guided tour of Florence by feet. Birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a jewel in Italy s crown with architectural treasures literally around every corner. The capital of Tuscany plays host to some of the world s most beautiful museums and galleries housing works of art by da Vinci, Michelangelo, Giotto and Botticelli. Afternoon Departure for a tour of the Chianti area You will drive by some of the most beautiful locations in the whole of Tuscany, among them Radda, Castellina and Greve, all of them located in the world-renowned Chianti area. Whilst driving, our guests will be able to enjoy outstanding views of the famous Tuscan vineyards on either side of the road. 8 DAY 9: From Como to Venice Departure towards Venice with halt en route in Sirmione for lunch Sirmione is located on the southern shores of Lake Garda, a pretty town near the end of a long peninsula jutting out into the lake from the Southern shoreline. Venice s lavishness and fantasy, the result not just of its remarkable buildings but of the very fact that Venice is a city built on water but a city created more than 1,000 years ago by men who dared defy the sea, implanting their splendid palaces and churches on mud banks in a swampy and treacherous lagoon. Gothic styles were adapted to create a new kind of Venetian Gothic art and architecture. Venice is a unique blend of water, art and romance located four kilometres from terra firma and two kilometres from the Adriatic Sea. 9 DAY 10: Venice: Pearl of the Lagoon A private boat will be at disposal for a 4-hour tour of the Lagoon. The first halt foresees visit to the famous island of Murano, famous for its glassmaking, a traditional activity that still preserves the ancient techniques of the past. You will admire the glass masters at work while producing the beautiful objects that have made them famous all over the world. Second halt in Burano, the most cheerful and one of the most populous of the lagoon islands. Its brightly painted houses give it the air of an Italian opera set, while the success of its most important industries, lace making, fishing and boat building, accounts for the wellbeing of its people. Last stop in Torcello, which can be considered the Mother of Venice and was settled between the 5th and 7thC by the fist waves of refugees from the Barbarian invasions on the Mainland. Today the island is nearly uninhabited (residents being reduced to 12). Covered by a rich typical vegetation, Torcello preserves the most ancient monument of the lagoon: the solemn Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in 639 and rebuilt in 1008, decorated with outstanding Byzantine mosaics.
