Smoking Policy Q&A When does the new smoking policy go into effect? Effective with any sailing departing October 9, 2014 and onward, smoking will NOT be allowed in any stateroom or suite, inclusive of the balcony. Cigarette and E-cigarette smoking will only be permitted in designated exterior open deck areas, as well as our night club, and in certain areas within the casino and casino bar. Cigar and pipe smoking will only be allowed in designated exterior open deck areas. Since the policy goes into effect on 10/9, will it be implemented mid voyage if the sailing is underway? No, the policy goes into effect on October 9, 2014, or on any new voyage departing thereafter. Why is Carnival changing its smoking policy? Given that nearly 90 percent of our guests are non-smokers, we wanted to have our shipboard experience align with today s guest preferences. We constantly monitor all of our shipboard policies and solicit guest feedback to make sure we stay up to date with consumers vacation wants and needs. Why is the new policy being rolled out in October? Why not now? Implementing the policy in October provides guests with adequate notice for their vacation planning. We wanted to communicate the change in policy in advance of the penalty period in the event this change affects our guests ability to have a fun and memorable cruise.

2 What happens if a guest is caught smoking in a stateroom or balcony? They will be assessed a $250 cleaning and refreshing fee on their Sail & Sign account. Information on this fee is included in Carnival s ticket contract. With 90 percent of guests being non-smokers, why don t you just make the ships entirely smoke-free? By instituting this change to our current smoking policy, we are trying to strike a balance that will please all guests, both smokers and non-smokers alike. We are hopeful our guests will see this as an enhancement to their on board experience and have an even better time sailing with us. How are you notifying guests and travel partners of these changes? We are updating all of our collateral materials and communicating details of the change to the current smoking policy to our guests and travel partners via various channels. These include distribution of letters, social media, and web site updates. I don t like the new smoking policy; can I cancel my cruise without penalties? The new smoking policy for stateroom balconies goes into effect on October 09, 2014, allowing guest s time to cancel outside the penalty period if they feel the new policy will impact their ability to enjoy their cruise. Once the penalty period starts, normal penalties will apply. Guests booked under the Early Saver promotion for sailings October 09, 2014, and onward may cancel prior to the final payment due date and receive their deposit back if the change in policy will adversely impact their cruise experience. How does this compare to the smoking policy of other cruise lines? Carnival s new smoking policy is consistent with the policy of most major cruise lines. How does the new policy apply to team members? Shipboard staff is not allowed to smoke in any guest areas. Smoking will continue to be permitted in designated crew smoking areas. 8 Smoking (cigarettes/cigars/tobacco pipes/e-cigarettes) will be allowed in the jazz clubs of the following ships: Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor. Smoking (cigarettes/cigars/tobacco pipes/e-cigarettes) will be permitted in designated exterior open deck areas on all of our ships - locations vary throughout the fleet. On the Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend Australia cruises, smoking is strictly prohibited indoors at all times including staterooms and balconies. Smoking is only permitted in designated exterior open deck areas. Staterooms Smoking will be prohibited in all guest staterooms. Carnival Cruise Lines Modifies Shipboard Smoking Policy (6/15/11) We recently conducted guest surveys covering a wide range of topics. The feedback we received indicated the overwhelming majority of our guests prefer a smoke-free environment. In fact, nearly 90 percent of our guests are non-smokers, with only less than five percent opting to smoke in their staterooms. Accordingly, as part of our ongoing commitment to keep in line with the personal preferences of our guests, we will be changing the smoking policy across our 23-ship fleet. Our new smoking policy will align our ships with most other contemporary cruise operators. Two of our sister lines, Holland America and Princess, have recently announced new smoking policies very similar to Carnival s. Decisions like these are never easy and we realize this change may impact some of our guests. However, we sincerely hope this won t affect their ability to have a fun and memorable cruise vacation. In fact, we are hopeful guests will see this as an enhancement to their on board experience and have an even better time sailing with us.

Is anything being done to the staterooms and/or public areas where guests were previously allowed to smoke? All areas where smoking was previously permitted from public areas to certain bars, lounges, and staterooms fleet wide will undergo extensive cleaning and refreshing by Carnival s housekeeping department.

10 What is happening to the cigar bars on certain Carnival ships? Cigar bars is a generic term that became associated with certain lounges aboard select Carnival ships where cigar smoking was permitted. Each of these venues has a specific name and these spaces are now being designated as non-smoking. Most of the vessels that have these lounges also have jazz clubs where cigar smoking is permitted under the new policy. I m a cigar smoker, how does this affect me? Smoking (including cigars/tobacco pipes) will be permitted on open decks in designated areas. In addition, smoking (including cigars/tobacco pipes) will be permitted in the jazz clubs on [8] of the Carnival ships that feature them. The 8 ships include: Carnival Triumph, Carnival Victory, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Splendor. Guests in balcony accommodations will be permitted to smoke (including cigars/tobacco pipes) outside on the balcony (excluding Spa balconies). Can I smoke a cigar on my balcony? Yes, under the modified smoking policy, guests in balcony staterooms will be permitted to smoke on the balconies, including cigars/tobacco pipes. Cigar/tobacco pipe smoking will also be permitted in certain areas on the open decks. However, Spa suites and staterooms, inclusive of the balconies, will remain an entirely smoke-free environment. Why can t I smoke in my stateroom? I m not bothering anyone. There are certain residual effects of guests smoking in their staterooms. The aroma of cigarette or cigar smoke tends to linger and many of our non-smoking guests prefer to have completely smoke-free accommodations. Even with the small percentage of guests who do smoke, less than five percent opt to smoke in their staterooms. Guests who are staying in balcony accommodations do have the option of smoking on their balcony (excluding Spa balconies). Spa accommodations are currently smoke-free, inclusive of the balconies. How will the new smoking policy affect Spa accommodations? Spa accommodations currently available on the Carnival Splendor, Carnival Dream, Carnival Magic, Carnival Breeze and Carnival Sunshine will remain entirely smoke-free, including the balconies. These include distribution of letters, social media, web site updates, and various public relations and marketing efforts. How does this compare to the smoking policy of other cruise lines? Carnival s new smoking policy will align our ships with most other contemporary cruise operators. Incidentally, Holland America and Princess have recently announced new smoking policies very similar to Carnival s. Does the new smoking policy apply to crew? Yes, all shipboard staff will be prohibited from smoking in any guest areas. However, smoking will continue to be permitted in current crew smoking areas. Crew with guest area privileges will not be allowed to smoke in guest areas effective immediately. Can I smoke E-Cigarettes? Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only allowed in the designated smoking areas. Ticket Contract 8. COMPLIANCE WITH RULES, SOLICITATION, SMOKING, DRINKING, ILLEGAL ACTIVITY, SEARCHES (b) Guest acknowledges that Carnival s vessels contain non-smoking sections. Guest agrees to refrain from smoking in those sections and agrees that Carnival has the right to disembark the Guest for failure to observe Carnival s non-smoking policy. (c) Smoking is prohibited in all public areas except in designated exterior open deck areas, certain dance and jazz clubs, and designated areas in the casino. The Spa suite and stateroom accommodations are an entirely smoke free environment, including the outside balcony. Effective December 1, 2011 smoking is prohibited in all staterooms. Beginning December 1, 2011, Guests with a balcony stateroom may only smoke outside on their balcony. Guest agrees to strictly comply with Carnival s non-smoking policy. Guest further acknowledges and agrees that any violation of this policy shall, in the sole discretion of Carnival, constitute a material breach of this cruise contract. In the event of such breach, Guest forfeits all rights hereunder, including the right to remain on board. Carnival reserves the right to disembark the Guest(s), at any port, as determined by Carnival. Carnival shall not be liable for any refund or other compensation or damages whatsoever to any Guest disembarked pursuant to this provision, or who disembarks because another Guest is so disembarked, and all such Guests forfeit all rights under Carnival s Vacation Guarantee. Guest and Carnival further agree that any violation of the non-smoking policy would also cause Carnival to incur damages, including but not limited to, loss of Guest goodwill, revenue, cleaning, maintenance and/or other costs. Guest and Carnival expressly acknowledge the difficulty of ascertaining the amount of such damages, and therefore agree that a reasonable estimate of the damages for any violation of the non-smoking policy is

12 $250. Guest authorizes a charge in this amount as liquidated damages, as well as repatriation expenses (including airfare) against Guest s on board charge account, without further notice, for any violation of the non-smoking policy.
