There are good reasons for the decision to buy a motor home, most of all one made by the inventor of motor homes or rather converted vans: Westfalia. More than 60 years ago an officer in the British Rhine Army visited us and he had dreams just like you have. He wanted to have his T1 converted so that he could use it not only as a transporter but also as a motor home. We fulfilled his dream at that time. And we could also fulfil yours with the new Amundsen models. AM 540 D The experience of more than 60 years and tens of thousands manufactured vehicles is included in each model leaving Westfalia's assembly line in Rheda- Wiedenbrück. This also applies to the two new Amundsen motor homes, the 540 D and the 600 E. Despite their limited dimensions of approx 5.41 m or 5.99 m, respectively, they feature everything a motor home needs. A comfortable living area, a kitchen with optimised functions, a generous sleeping area and a sophisticated bathroom The living area in the Amundsen captivates with its bright and friendly atmosphere. The upholstery in the Amundsen is ergonomically shaped for a comfortable ride without becoming tired, also on the double bench. Come on board and get one step closer to your dream. 6 Fantastic nights! Relaxation is what holidays are all about. When you are on your dream journey and want to reminisce about all the impressions garnered during a fascinating day the best place to do so is in the beds in the new Westfalia Amundsen. The Amundsen 540 D wins you over with the dimensions of the double bed which is mounted transverse to the direction of travel amounting to 1,300 / 1,150 mm x 1,970 mm. The new 600 E comes with two single beds mounted in the direction of travel with a length of approx / mm that can also be used excellent as huge double bed with amazing dimensions. So a lot of room for your dreams. AM 540 D The perfect combination of cold foam mattress and plastic spring suspensions in these beds provides for excellent sleeping comfort. By the way, should you be travelling in the 540 D on your own: you can remove a part of the bed and, for example, store your mountain bike in the rear storage compartment and you can still sleep very comfortably in the remaining single bed. We wish you sweet dreams in your new Amundsen. 01. Several light spots and windows provide for a comfortable atmosphere also in the living area of the Amundsen. 02. There is also enough room for your bike. If you travel alone and/or you transform the rear double bed into a single bed, you can transport your assembled mountain bike inside the motor home. 8 The ingredients are crucial! Have a look at the kitchen in the Amundsen. This is the outcome of rigorous new development and already shows at first sight what we mean when we talk about Westfalia quality. The kitchen block itself wins you over with its well thought-out functionality. Pots, plates, cutlery, spices and all other ingredients which do not need refrigeration can be neatly stored in the storage compartments above and below the kitchen counter top. For refrigeration the Amundsen is equipped with a 65-litre compressor-type refrigerator. Its position at the front end of the kitchen block will impress you. This position has been well thought out by Westfalia: the refrigerator can be easily used from inside the motor home when you are cooking as well as from outside when you are enjoying a nice barbecue evening The Piezo two-burner hob quickly provides the energy you need for cooking or frying. The drawers in the Amundsen are equipped with a well thought-out locking mechanism typical for Westfalia. In the Amundsen 540 D and 600 E the refrigerator is located at the front end of the kitchen block. The kitchen counter top is big and offers you the room you want to prepare your meals. The gas-operated two-burner hob quickly provides the energy you need for cooking or frying. Washing the dishes is easy in the circular sink, which is simple to clean due to its shape. What holds true for a good meal also holds true for the kitchen: The ingredients are crucial. Good ingredients do not guarantee a perfect meal but they are a basic prerequisite. That is why the materials we use for our Westfalia vehicles are so important to us. Learn more about this on the following pages. The refrigerator installed at the front end of the Amundsen kitchen block is easily accessible from the inside as well as from the outside of the motor home. 9 Room to refresh Starting the new day perfectly refreshed nothing could be easier in the bathroom of your new Westfalia Amundsen The extendable shower is of the same quality as you would expect at home. Durable and robust. The surfaces in the Amundsen bathroom are humidity-resistant and easy to clean. Whether it s toothpaste, shower gel or deodorant with the generous storage compartments in the Amundsen the bathroom is always tidy. Our development engineers are devoted to their craft and are as enchanted by motor homes as you are. This is why you find everything you need to start your day perfectly in the bathroom. First of all a door because the shower in the Amundsen is a self-contained room in the motor home, separated from the rest of the vehicle by a door. There is enough room, so we chose a real door which is much more convenient and longer-lasting than a roller blind or a folding door. A freshwater tank with a 90-litre capacity supplies the shower. Water is heated using a powerful Truma 4 kw diesel combined heating system. The waste-water tank installed under the floor has a capacity of approx. 100 litres, thus providing a generous reservoir so that you are almost completely independent from supply and disposal facilities on your journey. The surfaces in the Amundsen bathroom, the sink and the shelves are made of a robust plastic so they are durable, humidity resistant and easy to clean. You will see that the Westfalia Amundsen is a motor home that enchants you at first sight. And to win you over also at second sight, we installed some technical innovations in the vehicle. Please see the details on the following pages. The bathroom in the new Amundsen is worthy of the name. You can refresh yourself perfectly every day in the large shower. Bathroom 17

10 The details are decisive. There is so much more to building a motor home than just putting together different functional areas. It is the comprehensive solution that has to be convincing. For this reason our engineers do not settle for simply using well-known solutions. In many cases it is about breaking new ground. Take the heating system in the new Amundsen for example. The new and powerful Truma 4 kw diesel operating Combi heating system is making its first appearance at Westfalia. This is a hot air heating system. It is important for this system to install the air ducts in a logical and reliable way. We could easily have placed the heating system in the rear or in the wardrobe like almost all of our competitors. However, we are convinced that placing the heating system in the middle of the vehicle underneath the bench is best as regards heating requirements and noise control. This new Westfalia Centre of the Car concept not only gave superior test results, but the manufacturer s employees were also impressed by the new solution developed by Westfalia. Most importantly, you our customers will benefit from this every day. This is ultimately what motivates us. 01.
