Scruggs, Assistant Superintendent Instructional Support Services ROUTING Local District Superintendents Local District Administrators of Instruction Local District Directors of School Services High School Principals Assistant Principals, SCS College Counselors Counselors PURPOSE: MAJOR CHANGES: This document delineates procedures for school personnel to revise and update the school s University of California/California State University (/CSU) A-G Approved Course List for This is a revised that provides information about the /CSU A-G Approved Course List and includes procedures for updating the school s accreditation information that is needed by University of California Office of the President (OP). INSTRTIONS: The following information and guidelines are provided for high schools. I. PROCEDURES FOR UPDATING COURSE LISTS All high schools must update the /CSU A-G Approved Course List for by completing and submitting the /CSU A-G Approved Course List Revision Form (Attachment B and Attachment C) by June 12, Please Note: Even if there are no changes in the school s A-G Approved Course List, Attachments B and C must be submitted. The APSCS, the administrator in charge of the Small Learning Communities and the College Counselor, are to work together to compare the /CSU Approved Courses Offered in LAUSD (Attachment A) with the school s current master schedule of courses and the planned course offerings for Go to the University of California Office of the President (OP) web site and print a copy of the school s course list. Identify A-G courses that will be offered in that are not on the school s course list. On Attachment B, clearly print or type the course titles, District course numbers, abbreviations, and honors designations of all courses that are to be added. 2 will not be offered in On Attachment C, print clearly or type the course titles, District course numbers, abbreviations, and honors designations of all courses that are to be deleted. Do not include DUPLICATE courses on the delete form (Attachment C). Write DUPLICATE on the school s course list. Complete the /CSU A-G Approved Course List Revision Forms (Attachments B and C) that are provided as Word documents. Please Note: On the /CSU Approved Courses Offered in LAUSD list, in the Honors column, HL means the course is approved as honors level and will receive an augmented point. Alternative Title (Alt Title) means that although LAUSD schools offer an honors section of the course, the system does not recognize it as an honors level course. II. PROCEDURES FOR UPDATING ACCREDITATION INFORMATION The information page of each school s /CSU A-G Approved Course List must be updated to include any changes in the administration, contact person and WASC accreditation information. Write any corrections on the information page. A copy of letters or certificates of updated WASC Accreditation status must be provided in order to make changes on the /CSU A-G Approved Course List. In addition, any updated WASC information, letters or certificates, must be mailed or faxed to: Nina Costales, Articulation Analyst Office of the President 1111 Franklin Street, 9 th Floor Oakland, CA Fax: Current course lists will not be available on the website for schools with outdated WASC information. When the course revisions have been completed for the A-G Approved Course List, print and mail a copy of the school s revised course list, the /CSU A-G Approved Course List Revision Forms (Attachments B and C), and any updated WASC certifications to: Vendetta Jordan, Coordinator Secondary College/Career Counseling Beaudry Building, 25 th Floor. 3 III. SCHEDULE FOR SUBMISSION OF UPDATED COURSE LISTS A schedule is provided for the submission of the /CSU Approved Courses Offered in LAUSD. There are two mandatory submission deadlines. All schools must submit the final /CSU A-G Approved Course List Revision Forms (Attachments B and C) to the Secondary College /Career Counseling Branch by June 12, After June 12, 2009 but no later than September 11, 2009, schools may submit additional revisions to the course lists if schools make additional changes in planned course offerings. Schools must complete and submit the Additional Revisions to the /CSU A-G Approved Course List form (Attachment D). However, schools do not need to submit a revised course list form for each submission date. The Secondary College/Career Counseling Branch will review each school s revised list and will electronically enter the changes into the OP system. OP will not accept course lists submitted by individual schools.
