4 What is HSK Test The only official standardized Chinese language proficiency test Assess non-native Chinese speakers abilities in their language proficiency and application of the language. Consist of HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi), HSKK (HSK Kaoyu or HSK Speaking Test), YCT (Youth Chinese Test), and BCT (Business Chinese Test)

8 How to register for HSK test Check the test dates, including registration closing date Online to Obtain & Complete an appropriate form for HSK/HSKK, YCT or BCT Make payment for the test/s of your choice Online transfer (Account name: ASCC; BSB number: ; Account No ) Cash payment at one of the ASCC campus/offices a scanned copy of your form, an electronic photo and receipt to hsk@trilong.com.au prior to the registration closing date. Provide a One electronic photo or two paper photos of the test taker are required (passport photo or the like). Important Note: Registration will only be accepted when the form and payment are received before the registration closes. Passport photo or the like is required if no electronic photo is provided, two paper photos is required prior to the test or the test result will not be valid. Test admission ticket will be issued two weeks after the registration deadline.

12 How to prepare for HSK test General preparation Learn the contents : The Australian Curriculum: Standard Chinese series that ASCC is introducing in Gungalhin and Woden campuses are aligned with the HSK requirements Set up revision: Schedule your study sessions, Set up specific goals Prepare for the test Understand the test Read the test guide and be familiar with the format/structure, types of, what are expected Take practice test under timed condition Mark and analyse your practice tests Ask teacher for help if needed Do the best on the test Arrival (30 min earlier, restricted entry after the test commenced) What to bring: admission ticket, photo ID, 2B pencils, eraser, black pen for signing (no ID, no test) -- Do not bring: food, drink, books, notebooks, electronic devices, and other items not required for the test.

In HSK 1 all characters are provided along with Pinyin. Designed for learners who can use Chinese in a simple and direct manner, applying it in a basic fashion to their daily lives. In HSK 2 all characters are provided along with Pinyin as well. Designed for learners who can use Chinese to serve the demands of their personal lives, studies and work, and are capable of completing most of the communicative tasks they experience during their Chinese tour. Designed for learners who can discuss a relatively wide range of topics in Chinese and are capable of communicating with Chinese Designed for learners who can read Chinese newspapers and magazines, watch Chinese films and are capable of writing and delivering a lengthy speech in Chinese.
