1 ADMISSION NOTICE FOR LOWER KINDERGARTEN POLICY FOR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO LOWER KINDERGARTEN THE COMPLETE FORM MUST BE PRINTED ON LEGAL SIZE PAPER NO FORM PRINTED ON ANY OTHER SIZE WILL BE ACCEPTED Carmel Convent is an all - girls, English Medium unaided Catholic Minority Institution which has 120 seats at the LKG level. As such the norms of the minority institution are applicable in the admission process. The school imparts education to the Christian community around and extends its service to the members of other communities to the extent possible. Application forms will be available from 25 th November to 10 th December, 2013 on the school website Kindly note no forms will be available at the school. There are FIVE pages in the form. The complete form must be downloaded and duly filled. Disclaimer: The school will not be held liable in case there are any server/internet problems resulting in an inability to access/print the form. Eligibility: Only girls born between April 01, 2009 to March 31, 2010 are eligible. Others need not apply. There will be no screening of the children or their parents. Duly filled completed application Forms along with the attested photocopies of relevant documents are to be submitted at the school from December 9, 2013 to December 19, 2013 inclusive of both days. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays) between 3.00pm and 4.00pm. No application forms will be accepted after 4pm on 19 th December 2013 under any circumstances. Kindly note: Owing to the school already having certain important function planned earlier the above dates have been finalized after discussion with the education department (U.T.) Chandigarh. Preference will be given to Christians, Siblings, wards of Alumni, Management and wards of Staff. Conditions apply. Kindly Note: Preference does not guarantee admission. With the firm belief that children should not be exposed to the stress of long journeys, the school will only consider those children eligible for admission who are living within the Municipal City limits of the tri-city area Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The only exceptions will be siblings. The school is not responsible for providing transport facilities. However, there are a few private contractors plying buses for the school under an agreement with the school. Students may avail of this, seats permitting. Parent are advice to take admission in schools near their residence. U.O.I. & others Writ Petition No.95 of 2010, that the provisions of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education, Act 2009 (RTE) shall not apply to Unaided Minority Educational Institutions. The National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Government of India, New Delhi has declared Carmel Convent School, managed by the Congregation of The Apostolic Carmel Sisters in India to be a Minority Educational Institutions within the meaning of Section 2(g) of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions Act, 2004 ( NCMEI Act ). Carmel Convent School Sector 9B, Chandigarh, therefore being a certified Christian Minority, Unaided Educational Institution does not Reserve 25% seats for the E.W.S (Economically Weaker Sections) as mandated in the right of children to free and Compulsory Education, Act Being a Christian Minority Educational Institution and in imitation of Jesus who made a preferential option for the poorest of the poor of society, the school has independently been educating children from the E.W.S. since Kindly note: This is an entirely voluntary exercise as the school being a Christian Minority, Private, Unaided school does not come under the purview of the RTE in the matter of 25% reservation for the seats for E.W.S. Only one application form per child is to be submitted. There will be no screening of the children or their parents. 5. Selection for free and open seats available will be made by draw of lots on 15th Jan at 3.00 p.m. at the school premises. Only parents or their representatives (ONE ONLY), CARRYING THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT SLIP will be permitted to attend the draw of lots. Please do not bring children along. 6. Filled in application forms along with attested photocopies of relevant documents will be accepted between 3.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. from 9th Dec. to 19th Dec. 2013, inclusive of both days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays & holidays). No alteration will be permitted in the application form once the same has been submitted. Hence you are strongly advised, if you so desire, that the necessary rectifications like addition/deletion of the name/surname/parent s name/s is done legally from the Issuing Authority before submission of the Application form. 11. In case it comes to the knowledge of the management, at any point that the information furnished is incorrect or wrong, the admission will stand cancelled without having any right to claim the refund of the fee paid. 12. Application/draw of lots does not guarantee admission. The admission process will be considered complete only on completion of all formalities of admission and payment of fees within the stipulated time. 13. Both parents must be present with the child on the day of admission as the signatures of both are imperative. 14. Originals of all documents must be produced at the time of admission, to permit verification. In case, on verification, any document is found to be fabricated, forged or tampered with, the management reserves the right to cancel the admission. 15.
