Where it is not a new build you may wish to include a brief summary under 3.7 to give us a full understanding of your needs i.e. transferring from a septic tank to public sewer etc. 3.3 Please complete the table with your connection information giving consideration to the following information: Diameter of Proposed Connections: The minimum diameter to be used for gravity sewers is 150mm Material Type of proposed connections: The most common material types are plastic or clay on occasion Ductile Iron or Concrete can be used. Please note plastic pipes should not exceed 300mm diameter. Type of Connection: Branch connections are acceptable up to 300mm diameter. Anything above 300mm should be saddled unless the existing sewer is less than twice the diameter of connection pipe. 3.4 If your surface water is discharging to a sewer your connection will need to comply with the following table and provide suitable flow control device calculations. Checklist Drawings and calculations must be provided in support of your application. This will enable Scottish Water to calculate the infrastructure charge that applies. Drawings should include the following: A location plan at a scale typically 1:1250 or 1:2500. Other scales will be accepted provided that the plan is clear and suitable in terms of locating your site. A detailed plan should show the following as a minimum: The premises to be connected. The curtilage/land boundary of the premises to be connected. The location of surface water flow control/storage chambers and foul & surface water disconnection chambers. The proposed connection from the house to the existing sewer indicating the relevant diameters and depths. The existing sewers to be shown for the full length of the curtilage Gradients (Minimum 1:60) 5. Declaration Please ensure that you have read, understood and signed the declaration. Charges We will issue you with a quote based on our current Scheme of Charges which is available on our website Charges are based on: Fee Inspection per connection Infrastructure charge per property Upon your acceptance of the quote we will issue an invoice. Payment should not be made until an invoice has been issued. 6. Charges Your quote will be based on the following charges. fee This fee relates to the administration work and technical assessment involved in processing this application. Inspection fee Charged for every connection required for your properties. Infrastructure charge This is applicable on a per property basis. All new properties connecting to our sewers increase the volume within the public sewer network. In order to fund upgrades of the public sewer network any new connections to the public sewer are required to pay an infrastructure charge.
