I was advised that we can accept a check on behalf of the town (since it is being donated for a specific purpose) and purchase the defibrillators at state bid and use our tax exempt certificate.

3 Resolved: The following budget transfers may be made regarding the Lake Carmel Park District 1) Additional Monies needed for acceptance of donation: Increase the appropriation for the Lake Carmel Park District LC Beaches Contractual Line: SPl by $6292. Increase the revenues for the Lake Carmel Park District Gifts and Donations Line: SP by $6292.

4 Resolution # - close a Bank Account re: collection of donations for the purchase of defibrillators On a motion by Seconded by Whereas the Kent Lifeguards have advised the Town of Kent that the Bank Account that was set up by resolution on September 20, 2011 for the collection of donations for the purchase of defibrillators is no longer needed because they are purchasing the equipment, and Whereas the Town of Kent Town Board wishes to now close the Bank Account and turn over the funds for the purchase of the equipment Resolved: The Supervisor is authorized to close the Bank Account at Putnam County National Bank and turn over the funds for the purchase of the defibrillators.

6 RESOLUTION #2012- ACCEPTING DONATION FOR THE TOWN OF KENT LAKE CARMEL PARKS DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Town of Kent Lifeguards have established a fund for the purchase of defibrillators to donate to the Town of Kent Lake Carmel Parks Department as set forth below to be used as safety equipment for the Town of Kent Lake Carmel Parks Department Lifeguards. A CHECK FOR $6, TO BE USED SPECIFICALLY FOR THE PURCHASE OF: FOUR (4) FRx DEFIBRILLATORS AND ASSOCIATED SUPPLIES AT NYS CONTRACT PRICE OF $6, WHEREAS, New York State Statute requires a Town to accept property (in this instance a check to purchase the above described equipment) by resolution expressed in terms prescribed by the donor(s) in full; and, WHEREAS, acceptance of the check to purchase the above described equipment is in accordance with the donor(s)' terms and is in the best interest of the Town of Kent Lake Carmel Parks Department: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Kent does accept the check to purchase the above described equipment from said organization for use by the Town of Kent Lake Carmel Parks Department in accordance with the terms set forth herein. Also attached is a letter from Mr. Bruce Barber stating that he has also inspected the property and finds that it is stable. Please be aware that prior to installing a traffic signal, an engineering study of traffic conditions, pedestrian characteristics, and physical characteristics of the location is performed to determine whether installation of a traffic control signal is justified. The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will only consider traffic signal study requests from the local municipality within which the area of concern is located.
