DPT Details 3DPT Options PTs work in hospitals, private practices, outpatient clinics, home health agencies, schools, sports and fitness facilities, employer settings, and nursing homes, to name a few Requirements Baccalaureate degree in any field, other than physical therapy prior to the start of the program. The clinical component of the program takes place off campus in quality clinical settings across the country in three different concentration areas: musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and complex systems. To enhance your learning experience and an appreciation of various practice settings, students must complete a minimum of one clinical experience out-of-state and one experience in a rural setting. Regis University DPT students gain a competitive edge through hands-on experience with inpatient, outpatient, rural, and international sites, and in some cases international sites. During clinical experiences, you have the opportunity to integrate knowledge gained from courses and to expand your skills in evaluation, intervention, case management, and interpersonal communication.

5 The clinical education component of the Regis University DPT program is recognized nationally for its contemporary and innovative approach to hands-on education, from the first ever Clinical Education Scholar program, to the continued online course contact with university faculty while on clinical. These experiences all add up to allow you to hit the ground running after graduation! Prerequisites Human Anatomy (lecture/lab) (4)* Human Physiology (lecture/lab) (4) 5DPT *A combined Anatomy and Physiology sequence is accepted assuming labs are included and the entire series is completed General Biology (lectures/lab) (8) Biology courses which include a lab component are accepted, recommended courses include Cell Biology, Microbiology, General Biology I or II. Anatomy or Physiology courses taken in a biology department do NOT fulfill the biology requirement. General Chemistry (lectures/lab) (8) (one year sequence) General Physics (lecture/lab) (8) (one year sequence) Behavioral Science (6) Abnormal and Developmental Psychology are recommended, however, any two courses in Psychology, Sociology or Anthropology are accepted for Behavioral Science Statistics (descriptive and inferential) (3) Statistics course should include descriptive and inferential statistics Minimum 2.75 prerequisite GPA required to apply. Application Considerations Regis University considers many factors in the review of applications which includes the following; prerequisite GPA, GRE scores, cumulative GPA, completion of highly recommended courses, recommendations, and interviews for those selected. Additional consideration is given to applicants who complete the undergraduate Exercise Science minor at Regis University, and/or come from a diverse background, have earned a graduate level degree, or have earned an undergraduate degree from another Jesuit university. Financial Aid/Scholarships Our Office of Financial Aid at Regis University is available to serve students in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions. Upon acceptance, new students are given the opportunity to connect with a financial aid counselor to discuss their financing options. Awards are based on financial need and merit. The majority of students in the program are paying for tuition and living expenses through student loans. The first step to receive financial aid is to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at Submitting the FAFSA allows you to apply for federal, state and institutional grants, loans, student employment, and scholarships.
