EMERGENCY FUNDING UTILITIES (electric) FPL s Care to Share Programs: (561) This program is designed to provide emergency assistance funds to customers in a crisis situation who are unable to pay their electric bills. Palm Beach County Community Action Program (561) Datura Street, West Palm Beach, FL The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is designed to provide financial relief from high-energy costs to prevent service disconnection for families in crisis.

4 FOOD PANTRIES/PROGRAMS C.R.O.S. Ministries Pantries locations and hours of operation are given below. Clients may go directly to the nearest food pantry to receive emergency food assistance if they have not visited the pantry in the past two months. For persons visiting the food pantries from families of four or less, bring photo identification for the person vising the pantry. For persons of families of five or more, bring photo identification for the person visiting the food pantry and some form of identification for all other family members. The Lake Worth Food Pantry is located at Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches,1712 2nd Avenue North, Lake Worth, FL Hours: Monday-Friday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The Delray Beach Food Pantry is located in the Neighborhood Resource Center at 141 SW 12th Ave., Delray Beach. Use the parking lot behind the NRC and walk along the north side of the building to use the main entrance. A food pantry volunteer will assist you with food. Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday noon to 3 p.m., Wednesday and Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Riviera Beach Food Pantry is now located at The Port Center, 2051 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. on the 2nd floor. Hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:30 a.m. to noon. The Indiantown Food Pantry is located at Evangelical Haitian Church of the Nazarene at SW 153rd Street in Indiantown, between SW Tyler Avenue and SW Jackson Avenue, on the east side of SR 710. Hours: Tuesday 3 to 6 p.m. The Jupiter Food Pantry is located at the Jupiter Neighborhood Resource Center at 106 Military Trail in Jupiter at the southwest corner of Indiantown Road and Military Trail. Use the main entrance on the east side of the building. During pantry hours, a food pantry volunteer will assist you with food. Hours: Tuesday and Friday 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Rise and Shine Family Food Co-op (561) Annual Membership is just $10. This allows you to purchase nutritious foods and household items twice a month at a low cost of $30 per family or $15 per single/senior distribution. Community Action Program: Community Action s mission is to provide opportunities to the less fortunate by combining, organizing and adjusting the available resources so that programs are tailored to the genuine needs of low-income people and communities. Services may include: Tax Assistance, Employment Support, Housing Assistance, Access to Food & Nutrition, and Utility Assistance. Handles consumer complaints against businesses, retailers, landlords and the following regulated industries: local moving companies, towing companies, and vehicle-for-hire/ taxi/limousine/non-medical companies. Investigators serve as mediators between consumers and business/landlords. Legal action can be taken against companies found to be in violation of the Consumer Affairs Ordinance. The division maintains an open website of business/landlords for which complaints have been received. Consumer Affairs also enforces ordinances for the following: 1) price gouging 2) placement of tobacco products in retail establishments 3) refueling assistance for persons with disabilities.

7 Employment and Training Opportunities (561) Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach, FL Workforce Alliance is chartered by the state of Florida to work with Palm Beach County businesses to provide job placement, recruitment assistance and funds for skills training. Workforce Alliance offers online and live workshops each month that may include: job search workshops, use of computers, phones and faxes to assist in a job search, training opportunities (for those who qualify), career counseling, assessments and job placement services. Housing Partnership, Inc. (561) th Street, West Palm Beach, Provides non-profit mortgage lending and also offers a foreclosure prevention program. Housing Partnership is also a HUD Certified Counseling Agency. Also provides assistance to families with a host of available services: A Family Resource Center, referrals to resources, family enrichment activities, parenting workshops, health and nutrition education, financial fitness workshops, adult education via computer, GED and ESOL classes, social and recreational activities, after-school enrichment, mentoring, capacity building workshops, community events, including health fairs, and child care during evening programming. Oasis Compassion Agency (561) th Ave. North, Greenacres, FL A non-profit food pantry which requires membership approval and a monthly $10 fee; membership lasts 6 months and includes required enrollment in program designed to get residents into a financially stable state. Also has a program designed to help battered and abused women. This includes but is not limited to a Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, free Bus Pass program, free school supplies from the Community Back to School Bash, gifts during the holidays at Santa Shoppe and the Holiday Adopter Program, and free preparation of income tax returns for those at or below the poverty line through VITA. To have a tenant legally removed from property, an eviction notice must be filed with the County Court Civil Division. A filing fee is required for this procedure. 12 LEGAL SERVICES Florida Rural Legal Services (561) A non-profit law firm that provides free civil legal assistance to indigent and low-income elderly people in thirteen counties in South Central Florida including home ownership and foreclosure defense FRLS also provides legal assistance to migrant workers throughout the state of Florida. Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (561) Provides legal assistance to income qualified individuals and families. Qualified individuals cannot exceed 150% of Federal Poverty guidelines. Services extend beyond the dispensing of free legal advice and include the administering of diverse programs providing: 1. Advocacy for foster children and children orphaned through catastrophic events and violence; 2. Protection for vulnerable elderly citizens, whose numbers increase each day; 3. Safe refuge for families affected by the tragedy of domestic violence and homelessness; 4. Representation for HIV infected men, women and children, each coping with the challenges of a devastating disease; 5. Educational advocacy for physically and developmentally challenged children; 6. Intervention for children and youth at-risk for delinquency, truancy and recidivism; 7. Advocacy for immigrants seeking legal residency and citizenship; 8. Education and representation for those at risk for housing discrimination; 9. Planning and advocacy for clients and their families facing end of life issues; 10. Hurricane preparedness education for Palm Beach County nonprofits, and advocacy for our elder residents dealing with post storm issues; 11. Advice, representation and education regarding Federal and State employment laws to enrolled Palm Beach County non-profits.
