1 Master of Management Studies (M.M.S.) for SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry Students Students attending the SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry may be eligible for admission to the USC Marshall Master of Management Studies program. The Curriculum SJTU MJC students will complete a curriculum of foundational business and management courses at SJTU. The total number of units of core business classes that will be offered by SJTU is 16 units. Ten units will be delivered by SJTU faculty. Three 2-unit classes will be delivered by USC faculty (Marshall and Annenberg). Keeping in mind the goals of ICCI and the interdisciplinary nature of the program, the core business classes will be adapted to illustrate business concepts using examples from creative industries. To convey the focus to the potential students, some of the core business classes explicitly mention the industry focus in their titles. Entertainment Industry Finance and Economics (2 units) (USC Marshall faculty) Digital Go-to-Market Strategies in The Entertainment Industry (2 units) (USC Marshall faculty) Global Hollywood (2 units) (USC Annenberg faculty) Interested students who take these classes and meet USC admissions criteria will be eligible for admission to the USC Marshall Master of Management Studies Program. Completion of the M.M.S. degree requires a minimum of 26 graduate units, including 4 units transferred from SJTU, at least 20 units of coursework selected from the list below, and at least 2 units of Field Research (592), Independent Research (593) or Consulting Project (597). To fulfill the coursework requirements, students select courses appropriate to their individual goals, subject to the approval of a faculty advisor, as long as (1) the courses focus on the business of cultural and creative industries, (2) the courses are not MBA core courses, (3) the courses are numbered no lower than 500, and (4) the total number of units of non-marshall coursework to be applied to the program does not exceed 16. (Marshall courses begin with the prefixes ACCT, BAEP, BUCO, DSO, GSBA, FBE, MKT, and MOR.)

2 The final project -- two units of Field Research (592), Independent Research (593), or Consulting Project (597) -- is intended to provide a capstone experience culminating in a paper focusing on the individual s specific area of interest. 4 Application and Admission Procedures for M.M.S. applicants from SJTU ICCI Current students in the SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry master s program who wish to apply for admission to the Master of Management Studies degree program at USC should do so early in their second term at SJTU (immediately after grades for the first semester become available). Alumni may apply at any time for admission in the fall, spring or summer terms. Applicants will be provided with a number of exceptions within the application process as outlined below. Applicants will provide the following documents consistent with requirements established by USC: A completed application via the USC Marshall MBA online application system ( Nonrefundable application fee. Proof of a graduate GPA at SJTU of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale via an official transcript from SJTU. One official transcript from the registrar of each college or university attended (undergraduate and post-baccalaureate if applicable) whether the degree was completed or not. (Transcripts written in languages other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.) Documents must include proof that the applicant has earned an undergraduate degree equivalent to a 4-year U.S. bachelor s degree. Proof of English proficiency. All non-us citizens who did not graduate from an American, British, Canadian or Australian college or university must submit a recent Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) score. International applicants must have achieved a TOEFL score of at least 100 on the Internet-based examination with no less than 20 on each of the four test components or an IELTS score of 7.0 with no less than 6.0 in each band or a PTE score of at least 70. Brief responses to the Essay/Additional Information questions attached to the M.M.S. application. One letter of recommendation from the SJTU screening committee. (The second letter is optional. If a second letter is not requested, enter a faux name for the second recommendation and check the box indicating that the recommendation will not be submitted online.) The following standard application requirements will be waived for applicants from the SJTU ICCI program. Work experience (minimum 5 years). GMAT test scores. One of the two Letters of Recommendation normally required. Certificate of Intent to Register payment. To facilitate file review, unofficial copies of transcripts may be submitted as uploaded attachments to the online application. Deadlines for Fall Semester A complete application must be submitted no later than: February 1, early registration Registration for fall continuing students: April May 15 for international students, final deadline ( A "complete" application includes an online application with all required fields filled in, all required test scores, essay questions, letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and the application fee. Attaching unofficial copies of documents to the application allows the admission committee to reach a conditional decision, but an offer of admission cannot be made until all official documents have been received and prior degrees have been verified.)
