It means anyone responsible for agreeing contracts for flat roof refurbishment or new build, anywhere in the country, now has a common set of standards by which to choose their installer and supplier. That s great news for everyone concerned because it links local authorities, roofing contractors and manufacturers of flat roofing systems in a process that drives up quality of service and guarantees the best possible end result at the best possible value for money. A one stop shop for flat roof contractors The LHC is currently used by over 150 public sector clients and helps procure around 70 million of building and estate management services per year. 4 What is the LHC? LHC is a not-for-profit local government organisation that provides independent and cost effective procurement solutions for local authorities, housing associations and other public sector bodies. It offers purchasing framework arrangements for a wide range of building services, materials and contracts. How does the LHC work? Framework arrangements are established with appointed companies and suppliers after an exhaustive selection process based on service levels, quality, value, competence and compliance criteria. These frameworks are made available to public sector procurers who can then contract with their preferred supplier either directly or via mini-competition. The LHC then works with customers to monitor and validate performance throughout the contract. What is FR1? All framework arrangements are given a designated code. In the case of flat roofing services, it s FR1. The FR1 framework arrangement provides a full range of specialist flat roofing installation works for refurbishment and new build, carried out by installers appointed following an OJEU compliant tender process. How can LHC help me?
