CONFIGURING HAWK SERIES CAMERA SYSTEM DETECT, RECOGNIZE & IDENTIFY THREATS 24/7 SENESYS Security Network Systems

Overview The Hawk series is comprised of 24/7 day night ultra-long range multi senor camera systems designed by Senesys Optics for mission critical surveillance and security. The Hawk systems can be configured and custom built to suit the needs and requirements of any project. Senesys not only offers thermal and optical, but also boasts the ability to integrate SWIR, Extreme Low light, EMCCD, ZLID Illumination, LRAD, Gyro stabilization, and a host of other technologies; allowing our systems to see further, operate in extreme conditions, and offer higher resolution than other manufactures.

KEY FEATURES Synchronized laser and optical zoom 5km of active IR night vision with ZLID Analog, IP, HD cameras available Micro-Step technology for accurate pan-tilt 360 continuous rotation with tilt function Thermal camera (optional) available RUGGED AND ROBUST All of our Hawk cameras are designed to be rugged for military applications and work in extreme environments. The Hawk enclosures are constructed with thick military-grade aluminum, integrating passive cooling and heat for -45~60⁰C operation and are IP 66 sealed against dust and water ingression. The enclosure also has an anti-corrosive finish for protection against salt spray in marine environments and dust storms for desert applications. The Hawk connectors provide video, power and communication via military grade cables for a reliable quick installation, making it the clear choice for mission critical applications. PAN-TILT POSITIONING All Hawk systems are complete turnkey long-range PTZ surveillance systems, having the enclosure directly coupled to a heavy duty pan-tilt positioner designed for extreme performance in the most demanding situations. It implements brushless or worm motor technology for endless 360 panning and Micro-Step gearing for precise (0.01 ) pan and tilt positioning. Advanced features such as presets and auto-cruise will complement almost any existing equipment by means of Pelco-D and Pelco-P protocols.

1. TRUE DAY/NIGHT The Hawk series is customized to suit a variety of applications and has a variety of sensor options ranging from an analog 1/2 or 1/3 CCD camera up to 3MP HD IP camera. Senesys optical sensors provide superbly detailed color images by day and clean, crisp monochrome images at night. Unlike other manufactures, Senesys designs systems based on the customer s application rather than as off the shelf models. We offer analog, IP, SDI, and CCD/CMOS image sensors and video options that offer extreme low light capabilities as well as ability to handle bright light to ensure excellent imaging even in changing lighting conditions. Options 1/2 IR Sensitive CCD 1/2 IR Enhanced CCD (Required for over 3km of illumination) 1/3 CCD ( 30% Greater Zoom less IR sensitivity) 1/3 HD CMOS HD 1080P 2-3MP (less IR sensitivity) Senesys camera s integrated OSD allows you to program image enhancements such as BLC, SNRII, DSS, Sense-up, 3D DNRHLC, DIS, WDR, AWT, and virtually every aspect of the camera to be optimized on site for unparalleled performance (exact options vary based on camera configuration). Other sensors such as SWIR, EMCC, ultra low-light, and specialized sensors can be utilized; however the base camera options above are non ITAR and will meet or exceed most requirements.

ZOOM OPTICS (VISIBLE) Senesys has a variety of lens options. The bigger the lens, the greater distance and detail you can see. All standard PTZ cameras by Pelco or Axis have 125mm lenses. Senesys has a variety of lens options, but our mainstays are mm, mm and mm motorized zoom lenses, which on a 1/3 sensor give you FOV s ranging from 17 to 0.14 degrees, and zoom ratio of up 125x. 2. ULTRA LONG RANGE OPTICS Lenses are measured in milimeters. The larger the mm of the lens, the more powerful it is. Senesys 2000mm lens is over 1500%, or 15x the power and size of standard 36X PTZ cameras offered by companies like Pelco, Avigilon and Axis. Senesys 2000mm lens with even our non-hd 1/3 sensors provides over 30km of Human detection and over 60km of vehicle detection based on the military standard of the DRI Johnson Criteria. Note: For military and other special customers, Senesys has lens options over 6,0000mm (NASA optics), and resolutions up to 60MP for ultra long range imaging; but most applications will be well served using our 1000mm, 15000mm and 2000mm lens options.

3. INTEGRATED OPTICAL FILTERS Senesys has a wide variety of spectral filters that can be integrated to compensate for or eliminate the effects of parasitic light conditions such as fog, smoke, haze, heat-waves, UV, and IR to optimize image clarity and resolution. Light and heat is made up of different wavelengths: each wavelength having different characteristics and thus producing different images based on the sensor configuration. For example, the visible wavelength spectrum is what the human eye is able to see; it is nm and produces color images. This is ideal during the day; but the visible spectrum only allows us to see through transparent objects such as glass and not through fog, smoke or smog. Alternately, an IR cut-filter or fog filter that isolates IR wavelengths of 850~1000nm will only obtain black and white images, but will allow you to see through fog, smog, mist and smoke. Senesys has a variety of special filters such as edge, band pass notch, neutral density, and dichroic filters to optimize the image in almost any atmospheric condition. We integrate these custom-built filters on a filter wheel, allowing for the operator to switch between up to six customized filters; or we can integrate just one. The most common Filter is the Fog Filter and is integrated into our 1500mm and 2000mm zoom lenses. Without Fog Filter With Fog Filter

4. IR ILLUMINATION FOR NIGHT All optical cameras require light; therefore the effectiveness of a security surveillance system is dependent upon lighting conditions and a camera s level of ability to convert said light into a useful image. During the day, there is an abundance of light, allowing surveillance and security cameras to be extremely effective; but unfortunately, these same systems are often rendered useless at night, when the majority of crimes and malicious activities occur. By utilizing IR illumination, you can have an integrated or external light source to ensure that regardless of the lack of ambient light, there is enough to produce a clear image even on zero lux. TRADITIONAL ILLUMINATION IR illumination has historically relied upon IR LED arrays almost exclusively; and while it has been an effective night vision technology for obtaining adequate details to identify targets, it is quite limited in range, having a maximum distance around 300m, which renders it useless for long range applications. Because of this limitation, all long-range cameras rely almost exclusively on thermal for nighttime imaging, which does not provide any detail as it uses heat not light. ZLID REVOLUTIONIZES IMAGING Senesys has developed a revolutionary technology called ZLID (Zoom Laser IR Diode). Our ZLID technology integrates laser IR diode technology, precision engineered optics, and highly tuned image sensors in order to provide extreme longrange active IR illumination for up to 5km. Other products often use standard lasers that do not give a consistent light, which causes speckles and creates a very noisy image - often worse than traditional technologies such as intensified or EMCCD cameras. Many laser illuminators only light the center of the screen, acting as a spot beam that over exposes the middle of the image and leaves the edges dark. In contrast, Senesys ZLID (Zoom Laser IR Diode) Technology (or IR Laser) synchronizes IR intensity and area illumination with the motorized zoom lens for unparalleled active IR performance; eliminating overexposure, washout, and hot-spots for flawless illumination at distances up to 5km (16,400ft). threats at great distances.

ILLUMINATION (CONTINUED) Options: 1km, 2km, 3km, 4km, and 5km of ZLID IR Illumination. The exact distance depends on the sensor and lens configuration. Illumination refers to the night vision distance of the optical camera in complete darkness. See Through Windows Fog 15km 800m 3km Note: Senesys can design custom pulsed-range gated IR illumination systems that offer ranges up to 10km but due to price/performance and ITAR constraints, most applications are better served using a multi-sensor optical/thermal (EO/ IR) system with ZLID illumination. 5. INFRARED IR THERMAL All objects that are above absolute zero (-273 C) emit infrared radiation. The amount of radiation emitted is proportional to the temperature of the objects. Thermal imaging detects these minute temperature variations and accurately reproduces the scene in a variety of pallets, most often in greyscale. Since all objects emit infrared radiation, a thermal imager is able to see the environment regardless of lighting conditions. Thermal energy passes through many optical obscurants including smoke, dust, modest foliage, and fog.

Unlike optical systems, which like the human 24/7 eye require light, thermal imaging uses infrared electromagnetic radiation of ,000nm DAY/NIGHT wavelengths (heat) to produce clean, crisp monochrome images even in complete darkness. Thermal cameras are extremely effective IMAGING because humans, animals, and vehicles are all very hot in contrast to virtually any background, making them easily detectable. This allows Senesys thermal cameras to detect threats at distances up to 30km, even in complete darkness. Not only does thermal offer longer night vision ranges, but it also has advantages during the day as well. Standard visible CCTV cameras can be rendered useless by direct or reflected sunlight because they rely on contrast in order to identify an intruder. In areas where contrast is poor, optical cameras can perform poorly and change based on lighting conditions. Thermal however is completely immune to light, allowing it to see in any lighting environment for 24/7 true day/night imaging. UNCOOLED/COOLED THERMAL Senesys has many thermal sensors and options including both cooled an uncooled. Uncooled thermal cameras are cheaper and offer less range. Cooled thermal offers longer range but requires ITAR for exportation and has a much higher cost and cost of ownership due to the required cooling components.

THERMAL LENS Since thermal cameras use heat (3um-14um) they do not use standard glass optics. Instead, they use a rare earth metal called Geranium (GE). Geranium, because it is a rare earth metal, is much more expensive than optical glass, making GE lenses much more expensive than their visible camera counterparts. Due to their higher cost, thermal cameras tend to have a much smaller lens, and uncooled cameras usually have a fixed lens rarely exceeding 200mm. Geranium is not as efficient at delivering heat to a thermal sensor as optical cameras are at delivering light to a visible image sensor because of the GE refractive index. This means that the larger the lens, the more heat loss that takes place, resulting in lower performance and range. This is why GE lenses are often smaller and continuous-zoom thermal lenses offer less performance than fixed thermal lenses, especially at focal lengths greater than 150mm. This is not to say that thermal zoom lenses do not have merit, since they do allow you to gradually zoom throughout the whole focal length while staying in focus. However, this advantage comes at a cost of range and performance. Zoom lenses are also more expensive and require more additional maintenance than fixed and FOV lenses. A 750mm fixed lens will outperform 1100mm zoom lens due to this phenomenon.
