1 February 24, 2016 Municipality of Southwest Middlesex 153 McKellar Street Box 218 Glencoe ON N0L 1M0 Re: 2016 Budget and Municipal Levy The LTVCA Board adopted its 2016 Budget and Municipal Levy at its meeting on February 18, 2016, by unanimous vote of the members present. The Board appreciates that the 2016 levy poses a significant challenge for a number of municipalities but emphasizes that this one-time adjustment was a critical step in restoring balance to the apportionment of the levy while addressing key risks and challenges for the Conservation Authority. The 2016 budget and levy are identical to the information provided to you in early January and are provided as an attachment for your information and reference. As summarized in our January 2016 correspondence, the increase in the General Levy to the member municipalities is $215,226 or 16.25% on average and ranges from $23,676 or 2.5% for Chatham-Kent to just over $15,783 or 54% for Dutton-Dunwich; to $53,121 or 53% for the City of London. The impact for each municipality is shown on the levy table which accompanies the budget. For your convenience, your general and special benefiting levy for 2016 is as follows: 2015 Budget 2016 Budget General Levy $23,811 $38,810 Special Benefiting Levy $1484 $0 Total Levy $25,295 $38,810 Please direct any questions to me by telephone at ext.224 or don.pearson@ltvca.ca. Yours truly, Don Pearson General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer Enclosure
