2 PRINCIPLES FOR RESPONSIBLE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION (PRME) Principle 1. Purpose: We will develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy. Principle 2. Values: We will incorporate into our academic activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact. Principle 3. Method: We will create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership. Principle 4. Research: We will engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value. Principle 5. Partnership: We will interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges. Principle 6. Dialogue: We will facilitate and support dialogue and debate among educators, business, government, consumers, media, civil society organizations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.

3 Newport University CED, an European Higher Educational institute which facilitates knowledge with contemporary management practices by impinging professional values. It grooms management professionals with strong leadership skills along with a strong dedication to promote a research oriented environment for the upliftment & sustainability of best management practices. To strengthen the foundations, Newport University CED signed the UN Global Compact. From there itself, NUCED adhered to the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), the UN Global Compact initiative dedicated to academic institutions. It is a matter of great previlige for us to be part of UN Global compact & PMRE. At NUCED, all our efforts are inclined at building a long term commitment towards PMRE Principles. We will remain committed to our values & will continuously endeavour to become a better & responsible entity. The initiatives we have taken are intended to bring sustainable development in all the concerned areas. This report includes just some of the Newport University CED has undertaken to further the Global Compact principles. NUCED- Responsible Management Education Responsible Management Education, as a part of NUCED all programs curriculum our students study a lot about social responsibility. Being responsible management institute we not only take it as a part of curriculum, we truly understand & report to the necessities of being a responsible organization. Below is a summary of initiatives taken so far and what is planned in order to achieve further advances. Tuition free on-line BBA for deprived citizen around the world. Newport University CED is the pioneer of tuition-free online BBA program for the deprived citizens dedicated to the global advancement and democratization of higher education. The highquality low-cost global educational model embraces the worldwide presence of the Internet and

practices. To strengthen the foundations, Newport University CED signed the UN Global Compact.

4 dropping technology costs to bring university-level studies within reach of millions of people across the world. With the support of respected academics, humanitarians and other visionaries, the Newport University CED student body represents a new wave in global education. Economic and geographic constraints exclude millions of people from higher education. With the aid of technological developments and the help of volunteers, however, access to a tuitionfree online BBA program is within reach courtesy of the Newport University CED. Newport University CED is a venture that is beginning to revolutionize higher education by providing universal access to tuition-free online BBA program, even in the poorest areas of the world. With a few keystrokes, Newport University CED takes the concept of social networking and applies it to academia, providing a global classroom for the deprived citizens that seek access to tuition free online BBA program. Prof. Chowdhury Mrinal Ahmed, President and Founder, Newport University CED credits open-source technology and the increasing access to the Internet in making tuition-free, online BBA program available for the deprived citizens all around the world. Newport University CED operates on a limited budget without sacrificing the quality of education by employing collaborative and open-source e-learning. Newport University CED offers tuition-free online BBA program, and charges only nominal Application and Exam Administration fees ($10-$50 and $10-$100 respectively) that could be adjusted on a sliding scale based on the economic situation in each student s country or place of residence.

5 Newport University CED is open to accept free online BBA program applications from applicants who submit a certificate of financial inability for the local city corporation of resident, graduation from high school or equivalent, demonstrate proficiency in English and have access to a computer and to an Internet connection. At NUCED, the journey for a better tomorrow is never ending. We not only dream, but we dare to turn things into realty & this is what makes us to move higher & higher. OUR FUTURE PLANS To make PRME a part of student s orientation session. Compulsory projects for students related to social issues. To organize seminars, guest lectures on critical issues pertaining to global social responsibility and sustainability. To conduct seminars & workshops on the PRME for faculty members and students. To ensure the inclusion of issues related to sustainability, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, human rights and environment responsibility in the course curriculum. To incorporate PRME in NUCED s Newsletters. Active Participation in the PMRE conferences. The NUCED Green initiatives has already been laid down and is further going to gain momentum under sustainability and environmental literacy a segment strongly dedicated towards saving the Planet earth. The purpose of the initiative is to raise the awareness of the faculty and of future managers of environment related issues. Sustainability implies that the critical activities of a NUCED Approved Support Centers are ecologically sound, socially just and economically viable, and that they will continue to be so for future generations.
