6 The STUDENT AMBASSADORS EAMONN ALDRICH Major: Fine Arts Hometown: Anoka, MN I grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis where I was introduced to a variety of people with different backgrounds. This helped to grow my curiosity of the world, and eventually lead me down the creative path. I attended and an arts college in St. Paul which had to close down. In my search for another place to continue my education, I found RMCAD. The variety of people that go to RMCAD and that live in Colorado provide a great creative atmosphere. So my advice to you is, don t be shy and make sure you get involved! PEYTON ASHCRAFT Major: Graphic Design Hometown: Woodland Park, CO peyton.ashcraft@rmcad.edu I was never into art as a child; I always told myself I could never be creative enough to make anything good or worthwhile. But as I grew older, I realized that although my drawing and sketching skills were not quite as great as others, my computer skills and creativity thrived. RMCAD has helped aid me through my drawing skills and helped advance my computer skills within my last year here at RMCAD. It is a great place to create your own style and learn many different approaches to solving problems. I can guarantee that your stay and involvement here at RMCAD will be a memorable. Make sure you get involved with the numerous activities offered around campus! DARIA BONIEK Major: Commercial Photography Hometown: Brownsville, CO daria.boniek@rmcad.edu Photography has always been a big part of my life and I know it is what I want to pursue as my career. I heard about RMCAD my freshman year of high school and it had always been at the top of my list. What really sold me on RMCAD was the focus and hands on attention the staff and instructors give each individual student and their art, along with the beautiful campus of course. I know that attending RMCAD will help me grow and inspire me as an artist. The best thing about RMCAD on a social level is the community within us, everyone is so kind. So be sure to get involved with student activities! 4 The Student Ambassadors

7 SANDRA BUSBY Major: Art Education Hometown: Woodland Park, CO Ever since I was a tiny freshman in high school RMCAD has been the school I knew I wanted to attend. I saved the brochure from the very day I received it, and marked the Art Education page. And, now I m here, pursuing my love for art and teaching! I m loving RMCAD, and I m thrilled to have you as a part of our community. Be sure to get involved in the activities, and make your time here monumental! NIÑA ANGELICA PUNSALON CABALLERO Major: Art Education - Illustration Hometown: Thornton, CO ninaangelica.caballero@rmcad.edu I ve been creating art for as long as I can remember, but I never really considered myself an artist until around my sophomore year of high school. I stopped making art during my freshman year because I was scared that I couldn t do anything with my talent. After taking one art class the next year and talking to my art teacher about my fears, I was hooked on art, and I didn t want to do anything else. I came to RMCAD to enhance my rudimentary art skills. I chose art education because I want to inspire others to keep creating. I love this school because it s a small, close knit community and it feels like home. WILLIAM DALTON FRIZZELL Major: Fine Arts - Painting Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO william.frizzell@rmcad.edu I came to RMCAD right out of high school. I always wanted to pursue a career in art, but had no idea what that meant. I am very glad to say I am a painting student here at RMCAD and I am also a tattoo apprentice down in Colorado Springs. I enjoy the different types of students who come into the RMCAD community, we all have different passions and future goals, and this place allows all of us to get there. Check out our events for the ultimate RMCAD experiences! The Student Ambassadors 5

8 The STUDENT AMBASSADORS ANNIE GIBSON Major: 3D Animation Hometown: Littleton, CO I have always been passionate about the human experience as well as the concept behind making an interesting story. I believe both go hand in hand. I fell in love with Animation at a young age and I chose to go to a school that I knew would provide me with the education as well as the experience, which is where RMCAD comes in. To be considered a master at anything you have to invest over 10,000 hours into whatever it is you are doing. In order to do that, you can t limit yourself to just the classroom; go out and beyond to go after the things you want to achieve in life. RMCAD has given me all kinds of new ways to get involved not only within the school s community, but with my future as well, and I cannot wait to get started! DAILEN OGDEN Major: Illustration Hometown: Niwot, CO dogden@rmcad.edu I ve been drawing since I could pick up a pencil, and while I didn t always know I wanted to make a career out of it, I knew I had to do something creative. When I finally decided to pursue art, I toured schools all over the state and even looked at some in other parts of the country, but RMCAD was the only place that ever made me feel at home. It s a fabulous, close-knit community and we re proud to welcome everyone who joins us! JADE PHILLIPS Major: Fine Arts - Painting Hometown: Centralia, IL jade.phillips@rmcad.edu As artists, we need our intuition to guide us, but we also have to thrive off of the opinions and suggestions of our peers to keep bettering our work. RMCAD s close-knit community provides all of us with passionate feedback and allows students to easily merge differing perspectives. Just think about it in college, you see everyone from a fresh, new point of view and forget about all of those embarrassing moments you still have from high school! Get involved in events and don t procrastinate! Both will help you survive this crazy, wonderful journey into the real world! 6 The Student Ambassadors

9 PORNPORM SAM PLUMSUKON Major: Commercial Photography Hometown: Denver, CO I ve tried my hand at many different things. I love to draw. I love to make films. I love to take photographs. A jack of all trades, master of none type of person. RMCAD has been a place to help me find my place. It took a long while for me to decide on what I wanted to do in life, but being surrounded by wonderful and talented people and learning from great teachers, I was able to figure everything out. I d urge all students to sure to break out of their shells : talk, draw, and create together! And eat. SARAH VAETH Major: Art Education - Ceramics Hometown: Washington, MO sarah.mcneal@rmcad.edu I am a ceramicist, hot tea enthusiast and explorer. I moved to Denver in January this year to pursue a BFA in Art Education at RMCAD. When I came to RMCAD, I didn t realize how important it is to get to get involved in the community. The most important piece of advice I have for incoming students is to get comfortable. You will get comfortable when you get involved in groups, critiques and community activities. Don t be afraid to reach out to your classmates, teachers, and the chair of your department, they will help you on this journey. My second piece of advice is make sure you eat breakfast every morning. Anyway, if your are comfortable, you will thrive at RMCAD. Whatever you do, explore as many places you can and meet as many people possible. Welcome! SKYLAR WHITE Major: Illustration Hometown: Waukesha, WI sarah.mcneal@rmcad.edu I grew up throughout the Midwest, mostly Illinois and Wisconsin until my senior year of high school where I got to live in sunny South Florida! I decided to move out to Colorado because of one: RMCAD, and two: it s Colorado. I had never lived near mountains or so far out West so this would be my new adventure! So far, the Illustration department has been a major highlight of life out here and has given me a reason to call Denver my home. Getting to know your teachers and their amazing stories and talents is going to make your time here at RMCAD that much more important to you. The Student Ambassadors 7
