The Paper Cup- have each person think of as many uses for a paper cup in 10 seconds. Then form teams and see how many ideas they can come up with in 30 seconds. Then have scribes record ideas from the entire group Candy Bars- Great way to form groups to enhance learning. Everyone selects their favorite candy, divide into groups by the kind of candy bar. 11

Candy Bar Paragraphs- Version I- Provide each group (3-5) members with the same candy bar. Have several kinds of candy depending on the size of the group. Working together have them write a paragraph that ties the candy bar name to what they have learned. Version II- Hand out an assortment of mini candy bars whose names lend themselves to the training. Each team member receives a different candy. The team must create a paragraph describing key points in the training, weaving all the names of the candy into the paragraph. 19
GOAL cards- Hand out 3 x 5 card. Learners write down these four words: Goal I will set as a result of the class Obstacle What you will need to overcome to accomplish the goal Action What are the action steps to over come the obstacle Learn What I learned to help me reach my goal Have participants share with their learning partner or in a small group. 20
Fighting the Gremlins- Brainstorming. Toward the end of the training ask this question, What can you do to make sure you won t apply anything you have learned or make any changes to your current behavior? Then brainstorm all of the ways you can overcome these obstacles. Spider Web-Form a circle, take a ball of yarn, toss the ball to one person who shares an idea, they pass the yarn to another person. Stress how the web is strengthened with ideas. 21
Mind Reader Close- Tell audience you are going to read their minds- then correlate the exercise to what they have been learning today. Tell participants to close their eyes First choose a number between 1 and 10, but don t select 1 or 10. Multiply that number by 9, this should give you a two digit number. Next add the two digits and then subtract 5 from that number. Next turn the number to a letter (A=1,B=2, and so on) Now think of a country in Europe that starts with that letter Next take the last letter of that country and use it as the first letter of an animal. Finally use the last letter of the animal you just thought of to name a color. Then announce, I think I am now reading your minds, folks, and there are no orange kangaroos in Denmark! 22
Junk Food Reminder- On sheet of paper write Name Nickname Favorite junk food Goal: 1thing from the class they will accomplish in 30 days Crumple paper and throw in the air. Person who picks up ball agrees to send to person. 23
ROI 9 - Great for large groups, one envelope, 2-3x5 cards. List 2 learned ideas on each card. Share idea with another classmate. Add ideas to your cards. Put cards in envelope and have someone mail to you in 60-days. Collecting Dots- Count up awarded dots and provide small prizes to learners 24
Have fun using these ideas in your next training or at your next chapter meeting!!! 25
