Students coming to Manitoba have access to numerous student support services, our quality health care system, and various options for housing including student residences, off-campus apartments, shared house rentals, and homestays. Our province offers many opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience, earn income, and remain in Manitoba after their studies are complete. The Off-Campus Work Permit Program allows international postsecondary students the opportunity to seek employment off campus while studying in Manitoba and gain valuable work experience. The Post Grad Work Permit allows international student graduates from eligible Manitoba post secondary institutions to work for up to 3 years in Canada. Post-graduate work also streamlines the process to permanent resident status should a student decide to make Manitoba their home through the Provincial Nominee Program for International Students. 5 Affordable Costs = Great Value Manitoba offers high quality education at internationally competitive rates in a province that enjoys a low cost of living. Not only does Manitoba have some of the lowest international student tuition fees in Canada, but post-secondary students who graduate and stay to work in Manitoba are eligible for a 60% Tuition Tax Rebate of up to $25,000 CAD ($44,000 BRL). International scholarships are also available to Brazilian students, such as the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP), which is offered by the Canadian Government, funding 4-10 month international student exchange programs for up to $15,000 CAD. This scholarship is available to college, undergraduate, and graduate students who are attending a university that is partnered with the Canadian university that will host the exchange. It also includes one of the most comprehensive English as a Second Language programs in Canada with registration available every month. Our College is located in the heart of Canada in the City of Winnipeg.

Our internationally recognized programs include over 100 degrees, diplomas, and certificates in the arts and sciences, professional studies in engineering, business, and nursing, as well as studies at the graduate level. The main campus has over 676 acres and 55 buildings and is located along the banks of the Red River in the City Of Winnipeg (pop ). Our community is comprised of over 8,000 faculty and staff, 180,000 alumni, and 26,000 students (of which, 8% are international, representing 100 different countries). On campus supports for international students include the International Centre for Students, English Language Centre and Intensive English Program, as well as the International College of Manitoba.

The boarding staff to student ratio of 1:5 creates a family-like atmosphere for students in Grades Class sizes average 20 students and Advanced Placement (AP) courses allow students to earn postsecondary credits in biology, calculus, chemistry, European history, French and physics. SJR has produced 11 world champions in debating and public speaking, three International Math Olympiad champions and 18 Rhodes Scholars. In the past 10 years over 69.7 per cent of SJR graduates were offered university entrance scholarships or awards, totalling over $10.36 million.

Our junior high and high schools rank high in national academic competitions and in the number of scholarships received each year by our graduates. We take special pride in the support we provide our international students, with emphasis on our Homestay Program. We are pleased to announce the addition of Activities Facilitator to our program. This person will ensure that our students are regularly active and participating in a variety of experiences that reflect the Canadian way of life. Our number one priority is to ensure that all of our students are successful and that they have a rich and valuable experience in their study abroad programs.

The region is known to be quiet and safe and is in close proximity to Brandon, the second largest city in Manitoba. There are 18 schools located in the Study Manitoba School division, offering grades Kindergarten (K) to Grade 12. These schools are staffed by government certified employees and the curriculum is government approved.
