Address: Accepted 14 November, 2012 The football betting management and information system is based on football league betting.as with the areas of life, one of the keys to betting on football is information. It involves getting information on the features of the past matches and storing the information in the data base. The information in the database will then provide the user with the varieties of different statistics to enable him/her to make confident predictions about the forthcoming matches. There is always the flaw of the human element which is fears or bias. These fears of betting rightly or losing money in most cases effect the decision of the human expert even when he has all the right factors to make the right decision. The computer system with the right factors will make the right decision without any influence of fears. Keywords: sports Bet, Bettors, odds, football league, teams, and wager. INTRODUCTION Sport betting is the activity of predicting sports result by making a wager on the outcome of a sporting event. According to Dostoevsky (2010), betting on team sport has become an important service industry in many countries. For example millions of Britons play the football pools every week. Even Nigeria here is not left out in this sports betting. In sports betting, horse racing saw the most wide spread popularity throughout 19 th century and into the early 20 th century. From the 20 th century, other sports began to exist making people loose interest in horse tracks, football and basketball began to gain popularity. So many strategies were used to attract more bettors and they were given options by the bookie that they could wager on for amount as little as 10% of the bet price. In addition to organized sports betting (both legal and illegal), there are many side- betting games played by casual groups of spectators such as NCAA basketball tournament, Bracket pools, super Bowl Square etc., with monetary entry fees and winnings. One can also bet with another person that a statement is true or false or that a specified event will happen or will not happen within a specific time. This occurs in particular, when two people have opposing but strong held views on truth of events. Not only do the parties hope to gain from the bet, they place the bet also to demonstrate their certainty about the issue. Some means of determining the issues at stake must exist. In order to boost their certainty, the concept of information system, which refers to a system that uses contemporary computer technology to store and interpret the knowledge and experience of a human expert in a football betting, is introduced. Today s professional level sports bettors are not what most people believe them to be. For Starters, they are not those screaming fellows on cable television wanting to sell you picks forget those guys. No real pro expects easy profit or 80% winners.ninety-nine percent of sports touts make their living by selling their worthless picks to the gullible people expecting instant riches or promise of 65% winners, proves they are not genuine professional level sports bettors at all. Yes I m afraid it s a lot tougher than it looks, and combined with the hazards of faulty money management; sports betting are a no more than in a hundred bettors can make sports betting their sole vocation. It is a stage in system development when the database engineer tries to capture actual data that will be used in building the database. Normally, data gathering is done through various sources. With respect to this research work, the sources of information gathered were: Real life Football Match result and the past matches. The internet where relevant information on subject matter was surf and collected. Related textbooks stating the views of different authors about sports were also consulted. Oral interview were also conducted with some professionals in sports betting and some bookmakers found in pool shops. Pertinent questions concerning the method of gambling were asked and answers given but not very easy to get. This information gathered is loaded into the system by an administrator through various forms like: In order to maximize the interest of people in the game of football and their interest in betting.this system was established. it is an open system that can be deployed in a local viewing centers. I have a form for the registration of the bettors.once the bettor is authorized and authenticated, he places a bet based on the choice of the particular match he intends to place bet on, and this placing of bet is done before the day match is played life. The administrator who watched the match collects the result of each match and fills the result to the database through the Bet forms. The system compares the result of the bettors and the real match result to produce the result of the winner of the bet, the winners are paid out and the organisers take their benefits. Method used in loading data The standard in this system is that the bettor must get three correct winning teams out of the listed teams that will be played in a week for him to be paid out. This means that one cannot bet for only one team rather from three upwards. The three teams are calculated using the same amount. The bettor does his registration to enable him place his bet. This led him to next stage which is proper betting in the Bet form. This is done on or before the real match is played. In this form, the bettor fill in the Matches of his choice as scheduled and also based on the odds, he also bet the teams he feels will emerge winners. On perception of bettors, majority of people betting believe that it is a game based on luck. They harbour fear that they might loose the money they invested on it. It was as a result of the observation made at most viewing centers especially at Abakaliki town that this system was developed to remove phobia in some people as this work will provide them enough information to make positive

This serve as a pre requisite to the betting (figure 1). Results and Discussion After the bettor placed his bet, the data filled is then sent to the database of the system for update and retrieval. Software development is a very complex task and therefore needed perseverance and determination, football Betting management and information system on football not being an exception. Most people who have the passion to participate in sports betting, particularly on football, should expect that upon betting, you are going to bring upon yourselves a long-standing loss of earnings. There is actually no question about that. It is a fact that no one can dispute nor deny. That is exactly the reason why sports betting Lovers like information system, especially those betting on football Leagues and games, should try and hold the Football Betting System. That way, you can be assured that you will get some help as far as winning huge amounts of profits is concerned. Sci. 61 CONCLUSION The primary goal of this study is to attract more people of Nigeria into the field of betting and provide available information to bettors and technicians who need answers quickly. There is never enough expertise to go around -- certainly it is not always available at the right place and the right time. Portable with computers loaded with indepth knowledge of specific subjects can bring decade s worth of knowledge to a problem. The same systems can assist Bettors and managers, with situation assessment and long-range planning. The system is helpful with its idea of using computer system in replacing ordinary method of betting. It means that bettors in the field of football can now make bet without fear base on certain factors of the past matches, state of the players and the team in general. Betting on system will help you turn the life you are currently living into the dream life you could only imagine.
