Our classes will appeal to attendees with a range of experience and education needs. Our professional instructors have decades of experience in the fleet industry and are dedicated to sharing that experience with you. NAFA classes will include: 1. The Eleven Essentials of Fleet Management. NAFA members agree that government or corporate, small fleet or big, University or Public Service; there are certain aspects of fleet management that we all need to get right to be successful. What are the most important things in determining efficient and effective fleet operations? Where can you find data to confirm that you are, in fact, doing it right? Attendees will be asked what they think should be on the list and will then see how their list compares to that of NAFA. As each of the Essential Eleven are presented,
2 attendees will discuss how to measure performance in that area and potential benchmark sources. What NAFA considers the 11 essentials in fleet operations What standards fleets are expected to perform at Where to find reliable benchmarking information 2. NAFA s Sustainable Fleet Standard. NAFA has recently created a Sustainable Fleet Standard Program that defines what it really means to be a green or sustainable fleet. The program provides a tool for fleets to measure their sustainable efforts against NAFA s standard and to earn recognition for accomplishments as they reach certain fleet sustainability objectives. The program goal is to recognize organizations that manage and reduce the environmental impacts of fleet operations at a standard that is equal or better than that required by legislation. How to sign up to participate in this program How to demonstrate real commitment to emissions reductions 3. Asset Management Test Drive. NAFA s certification programs are the industry s standard for fleet education. Although it is a self-study program, NAFA has developed training classes in each of the eight subjects designed to help candidates prepare for the certification exams. The Asset Management module deals with acquiring vehicles and remarketing them. This session will cover the certification program in these two areas and provide attendees with a very good idea of the level of education to expect in the program. As a bonus, attendees who pre-register according to the instructions on the next page, can write the Asset Management exam for free and get an even better idea of what to expect. How to develop a vehicle selector (includes a practical exercise). How to interpret vehicle pricing information. When to remarket a fleet asset. Which remarketing method is best for you. 4. Masters - Risk Management. This Masters class will challenge experienced fleet professionals to apply the knowledge gained through the CAFM/S programs or practical experience, in a challenging practical exercise. The session will cover a full range of risk definitions and theories and present the risk management process. After walking through an example of this process applied, attendees will be given the information needed to conduct the process.
3 How to define and recognize risks to fleet operations. How to measure and prioritize risks. When to retain, insure, reduce or avoid specific risks. How to follow the steps in the risk management process. 5. Fleet Information Management 101. NAFA has just released the Fleet Information Management Guide, a comprehensive reference for getting, storing and using fleet information. This session is one of a series of eight potential introductory sessions and is suitable for attendees who are new to fleet or who have a specific interest in Fleet Information Management systems. There will be interaction and discussion surrounding the role of information in fleet management, how to identify system requirements and the use of telematics. How to determine which type of FIMS is right for your organization. What data needs to be tracked and how to report on it. What technologies exist and how they can improve aspects of fleet performance.
4 Certified Automotive Fleet Manager Program Test Drive Test Drive the CAFM NAFA s Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) program is the industry standard in terms of achieving professional recognition for knowledge and expertise. It is not just about cars it covers fleet and maintenance management processes that apply to anything with an engine. For the first time, NAFA is offering the opportunity for attendees at the Washington Auto Show to test drive the CAFM certification program for free. Here are the details: o Attendees of the 2015 Washington Auto Show are eligible to sign up. o Go to link and sign up no later than 15 December o Registrants will receive study materials for the Asset Management module by 20 December o A class on Asset Management will be offered at the Auto Show on 28 January from 1:00-2:30. It will cover the highlights of the module and provide an opportunity to ask questions about the materials. Attendees should complete their Study Guide prior to the class to get the most out of the session. o Registrants can then write the Asset Management Exam on 29 January at 11:00. o Successful candidates will have one year to enroll in CAFM and have that module count towards their professional designation. o All participants who pass the exam will receive a completion certificate. o For more information on the CAFM program see Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition Training Sessions Educate, Problem Solve and Network!
