Developed new Technologies applied to the field of orthopedics in the company DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. (Johnson & Johnson, Warsaw IN, EUA; Lectured Materials Chemistry to the course of Mechanics Engineering in the Polytechnic Institute of Porto. Master in Science and Engineering of Materials by the University of Minho. The thesis was defended in the field of materials chemistry (biomaterials for orthopedic applications). PUBLICATIONS AND PARTICIPATIONS IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES AND WORKSHOPS Has 25 publications (14 articles in international journals with peer review and 11 book chapters), all in English. Has participated in different workshops and international conferences where has presented the scientific work and has given several tutorials. 2 Experience Evaluation Reviewing PARTICIPATION IN PROJECTS Identification of new opportunities of financing, preparation of proposals (including budgets) and selection of partners (at the national and international level); contract negotiation, implementation and coordination of projects; writing progress reports (activity, managing and financing reports). The contact with different Universities, Institutes, Companies as well as directly with the European Commission (trough their scientific officers) as allowed to develop the necessary competences for the identification of new technological opportunities and their viability (see pag.7). EVALUATION AT THE EUROPEAN COMISSION Since 2008 has been selected as Expert Evaluator for the European Commission of proposals in the frame of the 7 th Work Programme and of COST actions (European Cooperation in Science and Technology).
