2 MISSION AND VISION Group Group is to be the preferred provider of professional accounting, payroll and taxation services to business and the public in a personalised manner which: Accounting Inc Franchise (Pty) Ltd o Builds long term relationships, o Provides convenience, o Produces quick results, and o Offers competitive fees. CODE OF ETHICS Group s Code of Ethics is intended to establish a framework for the implementation of best practices for relationships that we have with our clients and with members of Group. The Code is intended to provide a set of core values that are the basis for all our relationships within Group. Our Code of Ethics is a formal document and, in brief, it sets out our principles for the following: 1. Trust, truth and honesty. 2. Mutual respect and reward. 3. Open and frequent communication. 4. Obedience to the law. 5. Conflict resolution. A copy of our Code of Ethics is available upon request. HISTORY OF THE GROUP Group has a proud history of achieving success within all sectors of the economy and consists of two distinct business units: Accounting Inc was established in January 2002 as a firm of Chartered Accountants, offering professional services to individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. Franchise (Pty) Ltd was established in January 2007 as a professional services franchise specialising in the services offered by Accounting Inc. Franchise (Pty) Ltd has grown significantly since inception and today it boasts a national footprint throughout South Africa with more than 80 outlets represented in all nine provinces. ORGANISATION STRUCTURE The close link between the two companies which form part of The Tax Shop Group enables Accounting Inc to draw on the resources of franchisees from Franchise (Pty) Ltd. These franchisees are individuals who are qualified (and would even be considered experts) in various financial fields including accounting, payroll, taxation, black economic empowerment and business registrations. As a result of the franchise, Group is represented in all 9 provinces of South Africa through more than 80 franchisees and is able to provide services in the aforementioned fields throughout the country. We offer a wide range of services aimed at assisting small, medium and large business enterprises and state organisations to perform and operate more effectively in a rapidly changing and complex business environment. Accounting provides you with the option of outsourcing all or part of your bookkeeping and accounting requirements to us. Included in our range of accounting services are: Annual financial statement compilations. Independent reviews and audits. Bookkeeping (including the processing of cashbooks, bank reconciliations, month end journal entries etc.) Budgeting and managing the budgeting process. Maintenance of debtor s ledger (including monthly invoicing and debt collection), supplier s ledger and general ledger. Maintenance of subsidiary records such as fixed asset registers. Management accounting and monthly reporting. We also offer a comprehensive online accounting solution for small, medium and large entities. Following many years of experience, has designed payroll systems which work for our clients. Included in our range of payroll services are: Payslip preparation. Monthly payroll reports for management. Submission of monthly and bi-annual PAYE returns to SARS. Submission of monthly returns to the Department of Labour. Submission of employment equity reports to the Department of Labour. We also offer an online payroll and HR solution which is comprehensive for small, medium and large entities. No installation is required as you simply log in via the internet. Clients are able to run their entire payroll function independently or outsource some or all of this function to. Taxation Dividends tax. Donations tax and estate duty. Securities transfer tax (STT). Skills development levies (SDL). Unemployment insurance (UIF). has an in-depth knowledge of the aforementioned taxes and regulates client s tax affairs in such a way that a tax liability is minimised. Bernard Schoeman BCom (PGDA), CA (SA) Bernard studied at the University of Cape Town and qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1997 after completion of his articles with Deloitte & Touche. He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants. He studied BCom majoring in information systems and accounting. His areas of expertise include information systems, taxation and financial planning. Bernard has extensive international and local experience having worked for nearly three years with financial institutions in London and having audited numerous companies listed on the JSE in South Africa. Nico Viljoen BCompt (Hons), MBA, HED Nico worked at various listed companies in the heavy engineering, chemical, transport and motor industry in a financial management capacity. He served as financial director on the Board of Directors of eminent companies in these industries. He obtained qualifications in Accounting, Higher Education, and Business Administration and Management through the University of North West and UNISA. After completion of his articles with Price Waterhouse Coopers he also lectured in accounting and taxation at the Vaal University of Technology. Over the last decade Nico has owned and managed various successful businesses. His areas of expertise include successful business turnaround and directional strategies while maintaining a keen interest in strategic management, financial accounting and taxation.
