4 Ericsson s end-to-end solutions Ericsson s end-to-end solutions Ericsson has an end-to-end approach when addressing network challenges. The EDA 1200 and MINI-LINK solution ensures that the highest performance, quality and security requirements are met. Low investment An EDA 1200 and MINI-LINK solution reduces capex to an absolute minimum. MINI-LINK eliminates the need for costly fiber cables. Uniquely scalable down to 2Mbps on the backhaul part, and 12 lines per node on the broadband access part, the EDA 1200 and MINI-LINK supports micro building practices that minimize space requirements and reduce the cost of street cabinets. Scalable growth The EDA 1200 is purpose-built to minimize the total cost of deployment in both neighborhood and curb applications. While supporting up to 288 lines in the DSLAM, the EDA offers unmatched scalability down to 12 lines per node. MINI-LINK also supports easy capacity growth thanks to its modular building practice and remote scalability up to Gigabit. Rapid deployment A MINI-LINK microwave link can be installed in a matter of hours and needs no further maintenance. It is basically install and forget. If needed, it can easily be moved to another location. The EDA 1200 is also designed for rapid deployment and can be installed in almost any location indoors or outdoors in both neighborhood and curb deployments. Full flexibility The EDA 1200 and MINI-LINK solution supports VDSL2, ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+ on a per-line basis for broadband access, and the underlying ISDN or POTS services are available with an external splitter. In addition, the EDA 1200 also provides efficient first-level Ethernet aggregation of VDSL2 and supports star, ring and daisy-chain topologies. MINI-LINK is also a very flexible product that ranges from all-outdoor and end repeater nodes to large aggregation nodes. Plug-in units and soft keys provide the flexibility you need for a true pay-as-you-grow strategy. Radio Unit TMR9302 AMM6p Portfolio Products Ericsson has a complete portfolio of products for delivering an end-to-end solution for all network roll-out and network evolution scenarios. On the backhaul part, the solution is built on the MINI-LINK TN product. This consists of indoor units, and outdoor units, together with a couple of all-outdoor solutions. On the Broadband Access side, the solution is built on the 12-line EDN612 IP DSLAM, the ESN212 first-level Ethernet Gigabit aggregation switch and the ECN430 Gigabit Ethernet aggregation switch and controller node, all of which are specifically designed for the EDA 1200 and integrated in the same cabinet. Please see datasheets for more info on each product. MPH AMM2p ESN212 EDN612 ECN430 MINI-LINK TN The MINI-LINK system consists of the two above mentioned parts; a radio unit, which is naturally installed outdoors on a line-of-sight path to the radio unit at the other end, and the indoor unit. The microwave link can be configured to support frequencies from 6 to 38 GHz and handles Gigabit Ethernet capacities. The indoor unit is available in several variants with increasing capacity. The AMM2p, AMM6p and AMM20p nodes are designed for indoor installation, but the AMM2p and AMM6p units area also available as ruggedized all-outdoor solutions through the MPH (MINI-LINK Protective Housing) and the TMR9302. ESN212 The ESN212 is a first-level Ethernet Gigabit aggregation switch and the ideal complement to the EDN612. Its 12 ports are assignable as uplink or downlink and consist of eight electrical and four optical SFP uplink ports. EDN612 IP DSLAM The EDN612 is a 12-line IP DSLAM designed to support VDSL2 with a fallback option for ADSL, ADSL2 and ADSL2+. It is available with a POTS or ISDN front end, and the underlying POTS and ISDN services are available via an external or internal splitter. ECN430 The ECN430 is a second-level Gigabit Ethernet aggregation switch and controller node and has four times greater uplink capacity than the ESN212. ECN430 is part of a new family of level-two Ethernet switches for use in the metro network for aggregation of high-speed data traffic from the access network. It also includes an Ethernet Management Proxy (EMP) SW that enables it to manage the underlying broadband access network and provide detailed configurations to the management system used for system configuration, service provisioning and fault localization.
