1 SYDNEY, 8 February 2016: Intrepid Mines Limited (ASX: IAU ) ( Intrepid or the Company ) is pleased to provide the final results from the 2015 phase 9 drilling program at the Mumbwa Project in west-central Zambia. Assays from drilling on Target H have delivered further encouraging results. Results from Lulu, Kantonga, Kakozhi and Kamiyabo are also presented here. Highlights from Target H HDD_005 include: 38.5 metres at 1.58% copper from 8.5 metres including; o 17.5 metres at 2.03% copper and 0.01 g/t gold from 8.5 metres o 3 metres at 0.31% copper and 1.04 g/t gold from 102 metres Lulu, Target H and Kantonga are now the highest priority areas for future exploration. 2 The Company s acting CEO, Tony De Santis said: We are pleased to have continued shallow high grade copper intercepts from Target H. A detailed review of the drilling data will now be undertaken to develop a plan for the 2016 exploration program focussed on Target H, with a view to potentially generating a Mineral Resource. Figure (Phase 9) exploration drilling targets on a false colour composite Landsat satellite image, drill holes are shown in yellow. The Company has received final assay results for the following drill holes from the 2015 drilling program at Mumbwa: HDD_005 Assay Results HDD_005 was drilled on an azimuth of 310, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled along strike from HDD_001 on the Target H copper in soils anomaly and an IP geophysical anomaly. The best intercept includes 38.5 metres at 1.58% copper and 0.01 g/t gold from 8.5 metres including, 17.5 metres at 2.03% copper and 0.01 g/t gold from 8.5 metres. Best single meter assays include 2.74% Cu at 20 metres and 2.51% copper at 25 metres. Cu intercepts from four holes HDD_001, HDD_003, HDD_004 and HDD_005 have now been received and these results will inform future drilling at Target H with a view to potentially generating a Mineral Resource in the area. A series of 402 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. 2

This hole was drilled targeting a chargeability high adjacent to a strong copper in soils anomaly known as Kakozhi, a target that has been tested over several previous drill seasons. The best intercept includes 14 metres at 0.32% copper from 112 metres. A series of 454 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 22. 4 KAKDD_008 Assay Results KAKDD_008 was drilled on an azimuth of 090, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 504 metres. This hole was drilled targeting a chargeability high generated as part of the Kakozhi IP survey however the anomaly is more closely related to the Mutoya system along the Mumbwa fault. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 443 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. KAKDD_009 Assay Results KAKDD_009 was drilled on an azimuth of 270, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled between KAKDD_007 and KAKDD_008 on a zone of coincident chargeability and conductivity anomalism. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 304 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. KANDD_002 Assay Results KANDD_002 was drilled on an azimuth of 048, inclined 75 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled in the southern part of the Kantonga anomaly targeting coincident magnetic and chargeability anomalies. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 556 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. KANDD_003 Assay Results KANDD_003 was drilled on an azimuth of 270, inclined 65 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled in the northern part of the Kantonga anomaly targeting an IP chargeability high. The best intercept includes 3 metres at 0.25% copper from 355 metres. 5 KANRC_001 Assay Results KANRC_001 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 228, inclined 62 degrees to a depth of 310 metres. This hole was drilled in the southern portion of the Kantonga anomaly targeting an IP chargeability high. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 66 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. KANRC_002 Assay Results KANRC_002 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 270, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 315 metres. This hole was drilled in the northern part of the Kantonga anomaly targeting an IP chargeability high. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 83 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. KANRC_003A Assay Results KANRC_003A was drilled on an azimuth of 270, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 207 metres. This hole was drilled in the northern part of the Kantonga anomaly targeting an IP chargeability high. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 24 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. LULDD_001 Assay Results LULDD_001 was drilled on an azimuth of 100, inclined 70 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled as a follow up to a historical copper result generated from RC drilling carried out by an earlier operator. The best intercept includes 10 metres at 0.36% copper from 175 metres. A series of 509 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 4. 6 LULDD_002A Assay Results LULDD_002A was drilled on an azimuth of 125, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled on the western side of the Lulu area targeting a gravity low which was interpreted to be a structure along which supergene enrichment may have occurred (eg. at Kitumba). The best intercept includes 2 metres at 0.34% copper from 282 metres. A series of 372 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 5. Summary of assay results for drill hole LULDD_002A (azi 125, dip 60 EOH m) LULDD_003 Assay Results LULDD_003 was drilled on an azimuth of 110, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled approximately along strike from LULDD_001 in an area where two structures were interpreted to intercept based on inversions of the Falcon airborne gravity and magnetic data. The best intercept includes 5 metres at 0.36% copper from 319 metres. A series of 396 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 6. 7 LULDD_004 Assay Results LULDD_004 was drilled on an azimuth of 120, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of metres. This hole was drilled into a large hill interpreted to be a zone of iron breccia, a key geological unit at Kitumba, malachite was also identified at the surface. The best intercepts include 3 metres at 0.92% copper and 0.56g/t gold from 334 metres and 4 metres at 0.17% copper and 1.36g/t gold from 348 metres. A series of 367 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 74. Summary of assay results for drill hole LULDD_004 (azi 120, dip 60 EOH m) LULRC_001 Assay Results LULRC_001 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 110, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 305 metres. This hole was drilled in the vicinity of the Lulu pit, a small starter pit dug by previous operators to exploit shallow copper oxide material. The best intercept includes 3 metres at 0.37% copper from 244 metres. A series of 76 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 8. Summary of assay results for drill hole LULRC_001 (azi 110, dip 60 EOH 305 m) LULRC_002 Assay Results LULRC_002 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 110, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 281 metres. This hole was drilled along strike from LULDD_001. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 82 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. 7

8 LULRC_004 Assay Results LULRC_004 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 110, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 100 metres. This hole was drilled in the vicinity of LULDD_004 to further test the iron breccia zone. The best intercept includes 3 metres at 0.26% copper from 88 metres. A series of 42 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Table 95. Summary of assay results for drill hole LULRC_004 (azi 110, dip 60 EOH 100 m) KAMRC_001 Assay Results KAMRC_001 was an RC hole drilled on an azimuth of 90, inclined 60 degrees to a depth of 257 metres. This hole was drilled near the location of the historical base metal anomaly known as Kamiyabo. No intersections above the cut-off criteria are reported. A series of 69 samples, including quality control samples, were submitted to the laboratory for analysis (Phase 9) drilling program Three diamond rigs and an RC rig completed drilling in December Approximately 12,500 metres of diamond core and RC drilling were completed. All results have now been received and reported to the market. Clear priority targets in Target H, Kantonga and Lulu were generated requiring further work, including drill testing in future programs. 8

9 Notes: Sampling and assaying of the drill core and RC chips collected follows a standard site protocol with samples being submitted to the Intertek Genalysis Laboratory preparation facility in Chingola, Zambia before being shipped to the Intertek Genalysis Laboratory in Perth, Australia for analysis. A total of 46 elements were analysed by ICP MS and ICP OES and gold by fire assay. Multi-element analyses were performed using a multi acid digest (Hydrofluoric, Nitric, Perchloric, Hydrochloric) with Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) and Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES, including copper) analyses, gold analyses were performed using 25g lead collection fire assay with an Flame Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) finish. All analyses were completed by the fully NATA accredited Intertek Genalysis Laboratory in Perth, Australia. A Quality Assurance/Quality Control ( QA/QC ) program includes chain of custody protocol, a systematic submittal of 15% QA/QC samples including field duplicates, field blanks and certified reference samples into the flow of samples submitted to the laboratory and submission of samples for umpire analysis by a second accredited laboratory. A cut-off grade of 0.25% copper, a maximum internal dilution of 2 metres (drilled thickness) and a drilled thickness of >2 metres are used as a guideline when delineating the drilled thickness intervals of mineralisation unless otherwise stated, with length-weighted average grades reported. True-widths are not quoted. No upper limit has been applied to copper grades in these exploration results. ATTRIBUTION The information in this report which relates to exploration results at the Mumbwa Project in Zambia is based on information compiled by Mr Michael J Robertson, MSc, Pr.Sci.Nat., MSAIMM who is a registered natural scientist (Geological Science) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions, which is a Recognised Professional Organisation ( RPO ). Logging Whether core and chip samples have been geologically and geotechnically logged to a level of detail to support appropriate Mineral Resource estimation, mining studies and metallurgical Assay results from the Diamond Drilling at Target H, Kakozhi, Lulu and Kantonga and RC results from Kantonga and Lulu are presented here. Core and RC chips were logged for lithology, regolith state, alteration and mineralisation. Core was also logged for structure and density before being half split (HQ) or quarter split (PQ). Sampling was done following IAU protocols and QAQC procedures as per industry best practice. Sampled on nominal 1m intervals varied in order to respect geological boundaries in mineralised zone, 2m outside mineralised zone. Sample is dried, crushed (~2mm), milled and 200g pulp split taken for four acid digest followed by ICP-MS and ICP-OES finish, and a 25g lead collection fire assay with AAS finish. Standard tube diamond core was HQ predominant with PQ precollars. Core was oriented using a Reflex ACT II. RC drilling was carried out using 4½ holes. Core recoveries are logged, core recoveries for the Phase 9 exploration programme average 95.96%. Core is reconstructed on angle iron for measurement against driller s blocks, marking of orientation lines and recording of driller s breaks. Diamond core has high recoveries. All core has been logged for geological (lithology, mineralisation, alteration) and structural (alpha/beta angles, RQD) information. RC chips were logged for lithology, regolith state, alteration and 11

Regular sizing checks were undertaken and reported. Sample sizes are appropriate to the grain size of the material being sampled. Samples were submitted for a four acid digest (sulphuric, nitric, perchloric and hydrofluoric) and ICP finish for multi-elements and 25g fire assay and AAS finish for gold. QA/QC procedures include; a chain of custody protocol, the systematic submittal of 15% QA/QC samples including field duplicates, field blanks, blind pulp repeats and certified reference samples into the flow of samples submitted to the laboratory. Reassaying of the mineralised zones and submission of samples for umpire analysis by a second accredited laboratory will be carried out prior to inclusion in any Mineral Resource Estimate. Significant intersections are reported by The MSA Group which is an independent contractor providing geological services to the company. Data entry and verification is undertaken by MSA following an established protocol, all data are stored in a digital database and regularly backed-up. No statistical adjustments to data have been applied. Hole collars are surveyed by differential GPS at the end of each phase, down hole surveys were collected every 6m for inclined and vertical diamond holes using Reflex magnetic and Gyro 12
