Within this document you will find information on our program, website links to the WOC enrollment and preceptor applications, program enrollment requirements, tuition fees, scholarship information, books, housing, and transportation options. The onsite R.B. Turnbull Jr., School of WOC Nursing program has been operating since The WOC Nursing Education Program at Cleveland Clinic is guided by the criteria for curriculum of the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society. Our WOC Nursing Education Program provides classroom education with a wide variety of experience in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Care within the ambulatory and in-patient care areas. Courses covered in both the onsite and online programs include: Concepts & Professional Practices in WOC Nursing, Acute & Chronic Wounds and Skin Management, Fecal and Urinary Diversions and Urinary & Fecal Incontinence Management. The onsite didactic classroom provides independent and classroom activities, group discussion, lab experiences, and a comprehensive final exam. Each of the online courses include asynchronous discussion threads, self directed learning modules, individual and group projects and a comprehensive final exam. All course work is completed and submitted within the online learning management system. A clinical experience is combined within both the onsite and the online programs. You choose your WOC learning experience from one of two options below: A full-option, eight week on-site class includes 160 didactic classroom instruction hours and 160 on-site WOC clinical experience hours with our Board Certified WOC Nurses. There are a limited number of full-option on-site clinical openings available. A variety of online options exists ranging from an 8 week to 16 week didactic class instruction, depending upon the specialty course(s) selected. A minimum of 40 hours per specialty course is required for the WOC clinical experience; or a total of 120 hours for all three specialty courses. Clinicals will be performed with an approved Board Certified WOC preceptor in your home geographical area. As you register for the program, please remember to consider all additional costs associated such as housing, living expenses, textbooks, laptop computer, school supplies (pens, paper & notebooks), United States VISA (international students), and potentially lost wages before registering for the program. If you are interested in enrolling in one of the WOC classes, please immediately submit your application to our office to start your registration process. Final acceptance to the WOC Nursing Education Program is pending receipt of the WOC application and all required enrollment documents 60 days before the first day of class and full tuition payment received 30 days prior to the first day of class.
