1 CCEI Online 9 Hour College Credit CDA Certificate Program Syllabus Instructional The CCEI Online 9 Hour College Credit CDA Certificate Program is designed to provide the 120 clock hours of professional development required by The Council for Professional Recognition in order to obtain the National CDA Credential. Students will also complete an additional 15 hours of coursework in order to receive the nine hours of college credit, for a total of 135 hours of coursework. Comprehensive online courses, eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEU), available anytime, are designed to address the practical skills needed to effectively work in an early childhood education setting. The 9 Hour College Credit CDA Certificate Program is broken into three Instructional Units. These units focus on the six CDA Competency Standards established by The Council for Professional Recognition. The Competency Standards include: the establishment and maintenance of a safe, healthy learning environment; the advancement of physical and intellectual competence; the support of social and emotional development through positive guidance; the establishment of productive relationships with families; a commitment to ensuring a well-run, purposeful program responsive to participant needs; and maintaining a commitment to professionalism. CCEI Enrollment Requirements for the Online 9 Hour College Credit CDA Certificate Program include*: 18 years of age or older (21 for family child care) Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, GED Sign a statement of ethical conduct Have immediate access to a computer with word processing software, internet access, printer, and personal account. *CCEI does not grant the National CDA Credential. The CCEI Online 9 Hour College Credit CDA Program is designed to meet only the required 120 clock hours of professional development for students to apply to the Council For Professional Recognition, the granting agency of the National CDA Credential. Enrollment Requirements in the CCEI Online 9 Hour College Credit CDA Program may differ from the requirements for submission to the Council For Professional Recognition for application of the National CDA Credential.
