He created and maintains Flexviews, a materialized view toolkit for MySQL. He contributes bug fixes and patches to the MySQL source code. 43 Demonware? Founded in Dublin in Acquired by Activision in We provide the online services for all Activision titles e.g. Call of Duty, Skylanders, Guitar Hero. Services: Matchmaking, Leaderboards, User Storage, Events etc We have 145 people between our locations in Dublin and Vancouver, up from 45 in 2011.

45 Software stack: Erlang clusters running python workers. Lighttpd / httpd running python CGI scripts. A bunch of other application servers written in python. Basically lots of python. MySQL.

46 Databases Majority of our services use MySQL as a back-end. We have our own database abstraction layer; supports sharding, online migration, weighting, etc. We partition vertically for services and shard. Build-out to meet highest CCU around launch time and consolidate quickly. Have begun moving our Services to more Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
