4 250 Hours of value elearning Modules This is elearning like you have never seen before media rich, highly interactive and visually stunning, with downloadable workbooks for each module, all produced by an award-winning media team, based on the content expertise from professors of the University of St. Gallen, INSEAD and Wharton School of Business. Completely self-scheduled, the elearning modules deliver each of the core management concepts, for a total of more than 70 hours of online content. Mentoring Program ementors assist you through the discussion groups, question and answer sessions and one-on-one coaching. ementors collaborate closely with the faculty that conduct the classroom sessions of the program. Based on the experience from previous roll-outs, involvement in the Mentoring Program will require approximately 30 hours of your time. Live Classroom Sessions Completing elearning modules at a distance serves to focus the in-class sessions, ensuring that valuable presence time is spent on dynamic interaction and in depth case considerations. Led by seasoned faculty from the University of St. Gallen, these sessions reinforce and expand the lessons covered in the elearning modules, deepening your grasp of essential concepts as you engage the application of the concepts to real life situations. You work intimately with your peers and gain wisdom as faculty share first-hand experiences from the field. There are three modules consisting of three days, each from Thursday to Saturday, totaling close to 70 hours of classroom learning. Business Simulation Application is a strong lever to boost your learning experience. Therefore, you will build management teams that compete in a virtual business setting. This will improve your analytical skills and foster thinking in complex situations. It will also add teamwork experience in decentralized conditions, supported by modern technology: a real management challenge in the globalized business world. Six rounds with regular feedback, in which you have to strategize, invest, hire, and sell better than your competitors do. This application driven learning will take approximately 40 hours. Additional Learning Sources As an EoM student, you will be provided with substantial electronic information resources (ejournals, databases) from the library of the University of St. Gallen. You will have access to Harvard ManageMentor Plus, an online repository of trainings that offers forty-two additional «must know» topics. Typical programs cause a significant interruption to the participants personal and professional lives, often requiring you to be off for weeks, if not months. As a comprehensive and demanding educational experience, the Essentials of Management Certificate Program involves a solid investment of time, but is designed to work with your schedule rather than against it. You will accomplish a tremendous amount as you do the elearning modules and the virtual team decisions in the business simulation entirely on your own schedule, allowing you to come well prepared to make the most of your presence time. A Program with Potential Once you complete the program, you will be granted a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) in General Management from the University of St. Gallen recognizing your accomplishments. You will be provided with 10 ECTS credits, which do not only define the scope of learning, but can be used to save time and money in further education ventures like an Executive MBA. For details on the accreditations please contact the program office. The Essentials of Management Certificate Program involves nine presence days spread over six months. You are expected to arrive the night before a session. Traveling and hotel expenses is kept to a minimum as there are only three nights per session. With a morning block, afternoon block, and evening block, these rigorous days are as long as necessary while being highly focused and productive. Nevertheless, the schedule allows time for networking and exchange of experience, which is an important element of executive training. 6

12 GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS Registration Program registration is possible either by using the form on the last page of this brochure, or online at management-programs. For seminars with multiple modules, it is only possible to exchange unattended modules with later roll-outs or other seminars in extenuating circumstances, such as sickness or accident. Following successful registration to the certificate course, we request applicants to present themselves in the form of a formal resume or cv. Detailed program information will be mailed approx. 3 weeks before the seminar, or module start. Minor changes in program content, faculty, and in program sequence remain at the discretion of the course management. Program Fees The program fee covers the course participation, seminar documentation and the access of the program elearning modules, as well as the ecoaching support for the elearning sections of the program and the participation in the MARGA business simulation. It contains also your access to University of St.Gallen elibrary resources and the Harvard ManageMentor Plus. The first half of the program fee has to be paid 30 days before the first day of program start. The second half has to be paid by the first day of the first in-class session block. For self-pay participants an optional payment plan is available. Expenses for accomodation, lunch and dinner have to be settled by the participants directly with the hotel. Cancellation Fees More than 3 months before program start: No fee More than 2 months before program start: 10 % of program fee More than 1 month before program start: 50 % of program fee Less than 30 days before program start: 100 % of program fee Replacing participants can be presented at any time before the program start without any additional fee. Rebooking Charges Rebooking is only allowed one time More than 30 days before program start: CHF 400. Less than 30 days before program start: CHF 800.
