1 Get to Know Your Saint Francis High School Mock Trial Team! Q&A Session -What is your part in this years Mock Trial case? -Why did you join Mock Trial? Or what do you like/love about Mock Trial? - What specifically has the SF Mock Trial program taught you? Allison Vidor Team Captain, Prosecution Attorney Senior I joined Mock because my sister went on and on about how amazing her Mock Trial team at Loretto was. She said, "You get to be a miniature Elle Woods." Mock Trial has given me the confidence to speak in front of people. I am able to eloquently put arguments together and predict what my opponent plans to use against me. I can dissect a case and find all of the little loopholes in other attorney's arguments. It's not only academically beneficial, but it truly helps build a community. The girls on our team grow closer and closer every year. I am truly honored to have been able to get close to these amazing girls and call them my teammates. After graduation, I don t know what I am going to do without them. Julia Bayless Quinn Liu, Prosecution Witness, Bailiff Freshman I joined mock trial because I am interested in law and I want to be a lawyer/prosecutor. I like that we get the opportunity to take part in a realistic court case and trial. I have already learned a lot, and the other team members have helped me learn that looking at things from a different perspective can change your ideas or beliefs.

2 Clare Gisla Prosecution Pretrial Attorney I like Mock because I like arguing with people. Mock trial is teaching me a lot about logic, being persuasive, and thinking on my feet. Adriana Garcia Aubrey Fox - Defense Witness I joined Mock Trial because I wanted something that would get me out of my comfort zone and something that would help me become more confident. I also wanted to get to know the experience of being in a court and dealing with a case. Mock Trial has taught me to be confident in my answers, always be on time, and responsibility. Kayla Rahe Adrian Vega- Defendant (Defense) I joined Mock Trial because I've done it the past two years and enjoyed my experiences. I love learning about the law and how court cases are conducted. I also love my teammates and how we all come together as one. The SF Mock Trial program has taught me many things about the field of law. I've learned how a trial runs, and all the different people and components involved. I've learned to be a better public speaker and be confident in what I'm saying.

3 Alexis Florian Toni de Luca - Prosecution Witness I joined mainly to gain public speaking confidence and to have a good time with my friends while learning about something we're all interested in. So far, the Mock Trial program at SF has helped me with public speaking and gaining confidence in areas like those. It's taught me not to be shy and I've begun to learn how to argue a point and get my idea across. Katie Schembri Defense Attorney, Opening Statement I joined mock trial because I had a lot of fun last year and a lot of my friends are involved this year in it. The SF Mock Trial team has taught me how important it is to work as a team. We cannot succeed without working together and this team really requires that. Christina CJ Connolly Team Captain, Defense Pretrial Attorney I joined Mock Trial because my dream is to become a lawyer when I grow up. I love the intellectually stimulating environment Mock Trial has accompanied by a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. The Mock Trial program has taught me more than just the ins and outs of the legal system. It has taught me the meaning of teamwork. Being able to work with everyone so that our trial runs like a well-oiled machine can be difficult at times but is always rewarding in the end. The Mock Flock is not only made up of my academic teammates, but girls I can call friends and even family.

4 Fabiana Davila Viera Cameron Douglas - Victim (Witness for the Prosecution) We learn so much each day from each other. It's an awesome experience to work with professionals and to feel professional at competitions. I joined mock because it's not only a great way to learn about law but it helps your public speaking. I am now more confident when I speak in front of large groups or in class. Mock trial has taught me how to work as a team to achieve a goal, how to be more outspoken, and how our legal system works. Sarah Basharkhah Dallas DeCamp - Prosecution Witness I joined Mock Trial because I am interested in law and I wanted to try new things. I love Mock Trial because it s a great way to learn about the law and it is a lot of fun. The team has really taught me to think on my feet. Alexis Ortiz Defense Attorney, Closing Statement Senior I will be conducting the Direct Examination of Adrian Vega and Cross Examination of Cameron and delivering the closing statement. I joined mock trial because I thought it would be a great experience! My father is a criminal defense attorney and it always interested me. I love Mock Trial because of all of the wonderful memories and friends I've made. I love how we all have to work together as a team and that it makes it all the more sweeter to win in the end :) It has taught me how to present evidence in a courtroom. It's taught me how to argue and defend my client. It's taught me how to be an attorney.

5 Sofia Molodanof Prosecution Attorney I will be directing two witnesses, Toni De Luca and Quinn Liu, and crossing two witnesses, Dallas Decamp and Aubrey Fox. I joined Mock Trial because I ve always had an interest in becoming a lawyer since my dad is a lawyer and lobbyist. I really like how Mock Trial teaches you to work on your feet. It is more than memorizing your parts, you have to think on your feet and know the case to be successful. Mock Trial has taught me a lot about working in a team and how even the smallest parts have a big part in the end result. Mock Trial has also made me a better public speaker and has taught me how to think on my feet. Amanda Garren Defense Attorney Senior I joined Mock Trial to get involved and meet people. I love the sense of team on Mock trial and the interesting cases. Mock trial has taught me to be a confident public speaker and the value of hard work paying off. Kayla Hall Taylor Berard -Defense Witness I joined Mock trial because I have always been interested in law, and I thought if I joined I could further my knowledge of it and see it could be a possible career choice. Mock Trial has taught me how much work real lawyer put in to their jobs and how passionate you have to be to be a lawyer.

6 Angela Lazo Officer Kelly Wright - Prosecution Witness I was interested in Mock Trial because I wanted to gain experience in the field of law. I like the people in Mock Trial, my team makes me feel like I'm part of of something great. This program has taught me critical aspects of Mock Trial law and how to speak with more confidence and poise. Lindsey Bock Prosecution Attorney, Opening Statement I will conduct the direct examination of Officer Kelly Wright and the cross of Taylor Berard. I like being able to use wit and intelligence in a competition. I also enjoy collaborating as a team. This program has taught me to think on my feet. It has taught me to use eloquent and coherent diction. It has also trained my mind to think analytically and draw obscure connections. Leslie Young Courtroom Clerk Freshman I am the Courtroom Clerk for SFHS. I got involved in Mock Trial because I love public speaking, and I would love to study law and become a lawyer when I get older. I have gained a lot after joining Mock Trial. For instance I have met a lot of nice people and I learned how a real trial works. I have always enjoyed public speaking but Mock Trial added a new aspect.
