1 Robyn Armstrong, Account Manager (Armstrong Fine Art Services), Robyn has managed many successful shipments ranging from private collectors focusing on estate management to working with various Museums and Galleries for storage, transportation and collection management needs. Robert Alton, Exhibitions Coordinator (Tom Thomson Art Gallery) Robert Alton was born in Markdale, studied Art History at York University, and is currently employed as Exhibitions Coordinator for the Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound. Previous Gallery experience include the Art Gallery at York Univeristy, the Art Gallery at Harbourfront (later The Powerplant) Karen Bachmann, Director/Curator (Timmins Museum: NEC) Karen Bachmann is the Director/Curator for the Timmins Museum: National Exhibition Centre and has been with the institution for over twenty-five years. She is a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Museum Association and has over fifteen years service with the Ontario Museum Association, serving as President in She continues to sit on the Awards Committee for the Canadian Museum Association. She was a member of the Ontario Celebrate Canada Committee for over eighteen years. She has held board positions with the Porcupine United Way, the Cochrane Temiskaming Museums and Galleries Association, Arts and Culture Timmins, the Timmins Local Immigration Partnership Council and most recently with the Timmins Symphony Orchestra. She served as History Chair for the 100th anniversary celebrations for the City of Timmins. Karen has authored three books on the history of the Porcupine Camp and currently writes a weekly column on history and heritage issues for the Timmins Daily Press. Dan Boivin, Exhibit Designer / Project Manager (Canadian Museum of Nature) Dan has been working as a professional exhibit designer since 1995 and has developed over 70 exhibitions. Industrial designer by training, Dan first worked at a fabrication company, and then as partner of a design consultancy where he designed art, cultural, historical and natural history exhibitions for many museums. Dan is presently exhibit designer / project manager at the Canadian Museum of Nature. He is developing a travelling exhibition on minerals and on a new permanent gallery on the Arctic. Solange Claude, Outreach Officer (Canada Science & Technology Museum), Solange has been working for the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation in Ottawa, for over 14 years, in different roles. For the last 5 years, she has held the role of Outreach Officer for all three museums, focussing specifically on Travelling Exhibitions. The aspects of the job that she enjoys the most are the variety of the people she deals with every day and the fact that her job is never tedious or boring!
2 Shannon Coles, Conservator (Archives of Ontario) Shannon graduated from the University of Guelph (BA, History 2006) and Fleming College, Conservation and Collections Management, After completing an internship at the Royal Alberta Museum she worked at the Provincial Archives of Alberta, Glenbow Museum and Historic Sites Alberta before permanently joining Preservation Services at the Archives of Ontario in Cathy Cranmer, Exhibit Sales and Marketing Leader, International Sales (Science North) Cathy joined Science North's International Sales Team in 2011 to lead the Large Format Film sales and distribution. Since then, her role has expanded to also include: leading the sales, strategic business development and contract negotiations of travelling and permanent exhibits, as well as leading the marketing and communications initiatives for the International Sales unit. Performing the creative writing for many proposals, marketing documents and exhibit plans has allowed Cathy to foster her love of writing. Cathy s previous role as a small business owner has afforded her much sales and business development experience as well as practical knowledge of business practices from start up to management. Formally trained in biology, and biochemistry, Cathy has a natural love of science. In addition, as a former Biology professor at Cambrian College, Cathy possesses the ability to speak the language of a science centre, allowing her to effectively communicate with our audiences. Bev Dietrich, Curator (Guelph Museums) Bev Dietrich is the curator of Guelph Museums which includes the Guelph Civic Museum and McCrae house, birthplace of First World War poet John McCrae of In Flanders Fields fame. Bev graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with a B.A. in history and attended the Museum Technology Program at Algonquin College. She has completed the Ontario Museum Association s Certificate in Museum Studies course and is now a course director for the Collection Management course. Ruth Freeman, Retired (Blue Sky Design) For the past 30 years, Ruth Freeman has collaborated on over 125 exhibit projects for museums in Canada, the USA and Ireland. At the Royal Ontario Museum, she was Coordinator of the Discovery Gallery and then Chief Interpretive Planner, working on galleries and temporary exhibitions. From the mid-1990s until retirement in 2012, she was a consultant and ran Blue Sky Design in partnership with Paul Martinovich. They wrote a book about travelling exhibits for community museums, published by the OMA. Jason French, Project Manager (Royal Ontario Museum) Jason French is a Senior Project Manager with the ROM responsible for the development of major exhibitions, and permanent galleries. Jason began his career at the ROM in 1998 as a design consultant working on international projects including the Museum of Islamic Arts in Doha, Qatar, and The Saudi Arabian National Museum. In addition to his degree in Architectural Technology, Jason has also completed his Masters Certificate in Project Management from York University s Schulich School of Business. Bianca Gendreau, Curator, Post and Communication (The Canadian Museum of History) Bianca Gendreau joined the staff of the Canadian Museum of History in As curator Post & Communication, she has published works on postal history and the art of writing. She has also curated several major exhibitions, including travelling and virtual exhibitions. Her interest in this medium is reflected in the diversity of her latest projects: The Canadian Stamp Collection (2014), Snow (2013), Her Majesty s Stamps (2009) and Lace Up! Canada s Passion for Skating (2006).

Valerie Grassi, Travelling Exhibitions (Canadian Museum of History), Valerie Grassi has been working in the museum field for 15 years. During the last 8 years, she has occupied the role of Travelling Exhibitions Coordinator at the Canadian Museum of History where she has overseen the tours of exhibitions which have been shown across Canada and internationally. She holds a Master s degree in Museum Studies from the Université du Québec à Montreal. Norma Henry, Manager, Travelling Exhibits Touring Operations, International Sales (Science North) Norma leads Science North's travelling exhibits logistics, her most recent experiences include Hong Kong Science Centre, Guangdong Science Centre - Mainland China and exhibit sales in Indonesia. Currently Science North tours six exhibits throughout North America and beyond. These exhibits range from 3,000-6,000 sq ft. As project manager for Arctic Voices a joint project with the Canadian Museum of Nature, Norma lead the development of an artifact rich exhibit. Christine Johnstone, Curator (OPP Museum) Chris Johnstone holds a BA in History and Anthropology, a certificate in Museum Management and Curatorship and a BEd in History and Sociology (junior senior divisions). Her current position as Curator of the Ontario Provincial Police Museum in Orillia, Ontario sees her tackling a very diverse role. She plays a part in all aspects of museum operations from acquisitions and collection processing, design and delivery of education programs, development and installation of exhibits, to budgeting and long term business planning. Amleet Mangat, Associate Project Manager (Royal Ontario Museum) Amleet Mangat has worked in various roles at the ROM since 2007 which include Visitor Experience, Travelling Exhibitions and Sales. In her project management role, recent work includes the coding and packing of Ultimate Dinosaurs: Giants from Gondwana and ROM Behind the Scenes, a large program that provided free public access to ROM's collection storage spaces for two days. Amleet is a graduate of the MA Museum Studies program at the University of Toronto and the BA Near Eastern Archaeology program at Wildfrid Laurier University. Paul McIlroy, Senior Archivist (Archives of Ontario) Starting as the lone arranger of the archival holdings in a northern Ontario museum, Paul McIlroy has worked at the Archives of Ontario for over two decades. For the last 13 years, he has been a Senior Archivist, primarily dealing with the records of Ontario s Justice Cluster, including those of the Attorney General, O.P.P., Correctional Services, and the Courts. As editor of the Archives Guide to Aboriginal Holdings, he has an awareness of the Canada s relations with the First Nations. Andrew Meyer, Community Development Manager (Museum of Strathroy-Caradoc) Andrew Meyer is the Community Development Manager for the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc. Andrew began his career with the Municipality in 2004 as the Curator of Museum Strathroy-Caradoc. While retaining responsibility for the management and operation of the museum, Andrew s role has evolved over the years to provide leadership with facility management, community improvement projects, economic development, and municipal public relations.
4 Jon Oldham, Programming Assistant (Peterborough Museum & Archives), Since completing Fleming College s Museum Management & Curatorship program in 1999, Jon has worked with traveling exhibits in a number of different capacities: as borrower, lender, researcher, writer, designer, producer, and tour coordinator including the production and circulation of two nationally-traveling exhibitions: The Noble Experiment Temperance and Prohibition and Voices of the Town Vaudeville in Canada. Scott Pustai, President (Total Transportation Solutions). As a young man, Scott s passion included visual arts, music, football, and fishing. Summer employment through high school and university, ultimately led to a career focussed on specialized moving services. In 1994, building on a then 14 year career, Scott founded TOTAL Transportation Solutions Inc. Celebrating its 20th year, the company divisions now include Fine Arts, Rigging, and High Value Special Products. Father of 4, Scott takes great pride in his children, 3 of which currently work at TOTAL Transportation. Kim Reid, Curator (Peterborough Museum & Archives), Graduating from Fleming College s Creative Arts Administration program in 1985, Kim found work at the Peterborough Museum & Archives (PMA) as Registrar. Kim was promoted to Museum Technician in 1990 to reflect the more active roll she had with exhibits. She was named Curator in Over the course of her almost 30 years at the PMA, Kim has overseen and been involved with over 160 exhibits. A challenge was made, when the PMA entered the Travelling Exhibit Partnership, to produce the PMA s first travelling exhibit the Noble Experiment. Christine Sadler, Chief, Exhibitions Management (National Gallery of Canada) Christine Sadler is an art museum professional with over 15 years of exhibitions and collections management experience at major international museums. She has held positions at the Design Museum and National Portrait Gallery in London, the Jewish Museum in New York and is currently the Chief of Exhibitions Management at the National Gallery of Canada, where she is responsible for the oversight, management and planning of the Gallery's exhibitions and outreach program. Cathie Spencer, Project Consultant (Ontario Science Centre), I have been working at the Ontario Science Centre for 32 years now, starting as a Host - making people's hair stand up on end. In 1986 after completing my Education and Science degrees, I joined the Education department both writing and presenting programs for students and pre and post-service teachers. And in 2000 I joined the International Sales department promoting our travelling exhibitions and working with developing as well as established science centres around the world. And in between I luckily get to still help develop exhibits, write materials and do education training and consulting. She organized the touring of two nationally travelling exhibits - Sitting Pretty: the History of the Toilet and Remembering John McCrae.
