3 Park Home Policy Summary This is a summary and does not contain the full terms and conditions of the cover, which can be found in the Policy booklet(s). It is important that you read the Policy booklet(s) and schedule carefully when you receive them. One Policy booklet covers all sections of this Policy. Name of the Insurance undertaking This Insurance Policy is underwritten by a consortium of leading UK insurers comprising: AXA Insurance UK plc Royal and Sun Alliance Insurance plc Equity Red Star Allianz Insurance plc Type of Insurance and Cover The Bordengate Park Home Policy is a Buildings, Contents and Personal Belongings Insurance Policy. You must comply with conditions of the Policy explained in the General Conditions Section of the Policy booklet for cover to apply. These include your duty to take reasonable precautions to prevent loss and actions you must take as soon as you are aware of a possible claim under the Policy. See also the General Exclusions Section of the Policy booklet for those exclusions that apply to all Sections. Certain losses or damage if any endorsement/clause is shown on your Policy schedule e.g. theft cover may be restricted under the Buildings and Contents Section if the property is unoccupied for more than 60 days. You will have to pay the first part of any claim this is known as an excess. For example the standard excess of this Policy is 50, a higher excess of 1,000 applies in respect of claims made for subsidence or heave of the site on which the Building stands, or landslip. Buildings and Contents Section See Buildings and Contents Section of the Policy booklet for details. Cover is provided for an extensive list of perils such as fire, storm, flood, theft, etc. see Policy booklet. In addition cover is provided for: Accidental breakage of glass, sanitary ware, mirrors and fixed glass in furniture. Accidental damage to televisions, audio, video, DVD, digital video recording equipment and home computer equipment. Contents temporarily removed from the home (up to 20% of contents sum insured). Personal Effects & Clothing temporarily away from home (maximum of 30 consecutive days outside of Europe), up to 250 included automatically, a higher level of cover can be applied if requested. Replacement of locks if keys are lost or stolen (up to 100). Spoilage of food in freezers (up to 100 unless higher level of cover is requested). The cost of temporary alternative accommodation following an insured loss (up to 10% of the Buildings sum insured) if the home is made uninhabitable. Your liability as occupier, employer, tenant and in a personal capacity (up to 2,000,000 limit of indemnity). Significant and Unusual Exclusions or Limitations See Buildings and Contents Section of Policy booklet for details. Loss or damage caused by persons lawfully in the Home. Frost or water damage when your home is unoccupied for more than 30 consecutive days or to the tank, pipe or apparatus itself if caused by normal wear and tear. Damage caused by domestic pets and vermin. Accidental damage other than listed above (but wider cover is available under sections Accidental Damage). Theft of contents temporarily removed from the home, unless by somebody using force or violence to break into a building. Loss or damage to your contents from any cause not listed in the Policy booklet. The cost of replacing any undamaged items, which form part of a set, suite or item of a uniform nature. Insurance for Selected Items See this section of Policy booklet. This provides much wider cover than otherwise provided under the Buildings and Contents Section for your clothing and personal belongings, money, credit cards, sports equipment and pedal cycles. Cover is provided for accidental loss or damage including losses away from your home anywhere in Europe. The rest of the world is restricted to a maximum of 30 consecutive days. Extended cover for Acccidental Damage is also available. Significant and Unusual Exclusions and Limitations see Insurance for Selected Items section of Policy booklet for details. Pedal cycles used for racing Theft of pedal cycles unless securely locked when unattended away from home. The cost of replacing any undamaged items which form part of a set, suite or item of uniform nature. Sports equipment in the course of play. Any item left in an unattended vehicle unless locked in the boot or other compartment therein and the vehicle itself is securely locked. Duration of Policy The Policy will remain in force for 12 months from the date of commencement, or as otherwise stated in your Policy schedule. Cancellation rights You have the right to cancel your Policy during a period of 14 days after the commencement of the contract or the day on which you receive your Policy documentation, whichever is the later. Full details of your rights can be found in the Policy booklet. How to Claim For claims under all Sections please refer to your Policy Booklet. Complaints and Compensation We aim to provide a high level of customer service at all times but, if you are not satisfied, please contact The Complaints Officer at Portwell House, Market Place, Faringdon, Oxon SN7 7HU. If you are still not satisfied, you may be entitled to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (except in the case of a business employing 10 persons or more and with a turnover or annual balance sheet total exceeding 2 million, a charity with an annual income of 1m or more or trustees of a trust with a net asset value of 1m or more). We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations.
