3 New Course Development LSTS 3150: Foundations of Sport Management (Approved October 2013): Introduction to the to the dynamics of the sport industry field. Theoretical foundation and subsequent application are discussed to address the various aspects of the sport industry profession. Provides a clear understanding of the role of sport industry professional. Specifically, the sport industry, ethical concerns, risk management, marketing, economics, and the supervision of sporting industry. REC 4110: Youth Sport Programming & Administration (Created 2006/2007; Approved June 2007, Implemented fall 2007): Exploration and examination of youth sport history, philosophy, developmental stages of youth, sport management and programming, and current issues and events necessary to deliver youth sport activities within a variety of settings, agencies and/or organizations. This course will address the various learning stages of youth sport and the impact these experiences can have on youth. REC 4550: Business Applications in Leisure Services (Created 2006/2007; Approved June 2007, Implemented spring 2008): Application of public relations, customer service, marketing principles, and financial management of leisure service delivery systems; including procedures for developing marketing and budget plans for leisure services. Emphasis is on public and customer relations, organizing and analyzing the marketing process and budgeting. Course Revision ATHC 3810 Directing Intramurals: Revised to increase to 3 credit hours. Course has been revised to reflect more rigorous assignments and demands of students to justify increased credit hours The revision of this course requires more time, depth of content and activities for the student than the original course. Revised fall REC 4540 (Online) Organization and Administration of Recreation and Leisure Services: Revised course content and converted course to be taught online. Revised spring REC 4490 (Online) Campus Recreation: Revised content to address campus recreation issues and converted course content to be taught on-line (4 weeks, 8 weeks, and 16 weeks).
