5 Applications A low level order picker provides an effective means of collecting customers orders from your store or warehouse shelves and moving them to the point of dispatch (on pallets or in picking cages). Order picking is a time-consuming operation in which the efficiency of your equipment and work practices is very important if high levels of productivity are to be achieved. The versatile OPB20T low level order picker from Mitsubishi works at first and second pick heights, handling 1-3 picking cages or 1-2 pallets. Among its most important features is its ergonomic tiller arm, which allows the choice of walk-beside or ride-on modes for optimum efficiency. Operators will find the walk-beside mode particularly useful when order picking at the first level at or below their own height. Controls on the tiller arm can be accessed with one hand, leaving the other free to handle goods and paperwork. Manoeuvring is simple and precise, with walk-beside speed maintained at a suitable 2.5km/h. For order preparation at the second level, the operator simply uses the conveniently placed platforms to reach greater heights. Ride-on operation, with rapid maximum speed (7.8km/h), reduces fatigue for drivers working over greater distances and longer shifts.
