2 INTRODUCTION General information General information Sheet 1 Energy Efficiency Of Lifts Aim: Evaluation and labelling of the energy demand of lift installations based on uniform criteria. Sheet 2 Components Aim: Evaluation of the energy efficiency of lift components for new and existing lifts. Application of the guideline: In order to keep the downtime energy demand of the components at a minimum, SCHAEFER products can be set to an energy saving. The decisive factor for the classification of components in the respective energy saving s is the wake-up time. Thus the highest possible energy saving can be realised depending on the wake-up time. Operation Energy saving s Operation Description Wake-up time P0 a) The component is in operation. S0 S1 S2 b) The component is off, however immediately ready for operation. Simple sleep : The component will switch back to P0 within 3 s after a respective wake-up signal. Soft-off : The component is virtually switched off and switches back to P0 within 60 s after a respective wake-up signal. < 250 ms ( 0 s ) 3 s 60 s Characteristics of the components Effective power in Watt Effective power in Watt Effective power in Watt, Wake-up time in s Effective power in Watt, Wake-up time in s a) With components requiring more than 60 s for waking up one can assume that these will not be switched off. Thus they are classed in P0; exceptions require an explicit agreement. b) It is recommended to indicate the activation of S2 by suitable indicators. Travel demand: Power demand of all SCHAEFER components during the reference travel of the lift. Downtime demand: Power demand of all SCHAEFER components depending on their operation s after a five-minute downtime of the lift. Operation s: During downtime of the lift a component is in function P0 or in one of the three energy saving s S0, S1 or S2. Wake-up time: Time after which the components are ready for operation again after they had been switching to an energy saving (S0, S1, S2) previously. 5.2
