PublicLAN Service Profile PublicLAN is CityLink s premium Ethernet access service, which is delivered by crystal clear fibre op?cs directly to your organisa?ons premises. These highly reliable, excep?onal value Ethernet connec?ons provide access to a market place of Internet and applica?on service providers. Typically the 'access' and 'services' components of a broadband connection are purchased as a package from an ISP, limiting customer visibility and control over total service performance. CityLink unbundles this package by supplying a high speed 'open access' network that enables access to an array of service providers. This puts the control back in the hands of the customer, who is able to select the best providers for each service and exert control over their telecommunications performance. PublicLAN service delivery is via fibre optic cable directly to the customer premises, providing unparalleled speed and performance for receiving the services your organisation requires. There are more than 30 service providers accessible with PublicLAN who provide a very wide range of services. PublicLAN can be used for the delivery of multiple services from multiple service providers. May

Multiple Service Provider Access CityLink s PublicLAN service is ideally suited for accessing a wide range of services from an impressive array of service providers. PublicLAN offers multiple port options for reaching more than one service provider over the same fibre/ethernet connection. Additional ports are available at reduced prices with the restriction that the ports and their associated pricing is determined by ranking ports from the fastest speed port in descending order. See examples below for further explanation. Typical PublicLAN Applications: Internet Access Application Services - Productivity & Business Applications Back-up / Disaster Recovery Web Server Access Voice services Video Conferencing Remote Access The following example demonstrates how the multiple port pricing is applied. Initially a PublicLAN customer requires a single 30Mbps port. First Port 30Mbps The customer then requires a 100Mbps port of a second service. First Port 100Mbps Second Port 30Mbps Next an additional 1000Mbps port is required for a third service. First Port 1000Mbps Second Port 100Mbps Third Port 30Mbps 2

PublicLAN Availability To check the on the availability of PublicLAN services in your area see our on-line network maps CityLink has CBD networks in Auckland and Wellington. The Wellington network also has extensions to Tawa and Petone. 3

Service Levels Service Attribute PrivateLAN Target Availability 99.95% 1 Frame Delay Frame Jitter (at 1Gbps) <2ms <1ms Frame Loss (at 1Gbps) <0.05% SLA Monitoring Proactive Service Maintenance Future Service Future Service Access Protection Optional 2 SLA Non-performance Penalties Service Support On-site Service Restoration Frame Throughput at Access Optional with Access protection 24 hrs x 7 days 24 hrs x 7 days dedicate 1Gbps to core switch Notes: 1. Based on the assump3on that 1 major service outage occurs every 4 years, that powering of the CPE- device is the users responsibility and core- network switches are UPS/Generator powered. Target availability excludes planned maintenance. 2. Will have addi3onal charges for required services, equipment and monitoring/repor3ng. 4

PublicLAN Service Options Access Protection PublicLAN customers requiring higher availability access connections have the option of Access Protection. This option provides two dedicated optical paths to two core network switches. This option increase service availability by protecting against a core switch or optical path failure. In the diagram below Site D has Access Protection. There are a range of fibre cable diversity arrangements which can be engineered to meet your requirements. Please discuss your particular requirements with us. 5

Metro Ethernet Forum CityLink is a world leader in the move of Ethernet from LANs into Carrier networks. Our Wellington network is one of the first Metropolitan Ethernet Networks in the world. Carrier Ethernet is the name associated with the now global move by Tele- communica3ons companies to Ethernet service delivery. As this trend accelerates it is also important that there is common language when network operators describe, implement and interconnect their services. The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) has emerged as an industry lead body who are developing technical specifica3ons and implementa3on agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide. CityLink is in the process of aligning our service descrip3ons, terminology and service offerings to conform with those defined by the MEF. At present MEF specifica3ons provide an accepted language that is useful for describing CityLink's Ethernet services. So as a first step in our transi3on process we will restate and u3lise some MEF terminology for the descrip3on of Ethernet Services for Channel Partners. See the following table for equivalent MEF terms to those used in this document. Terminology All to One Bundling CE CE-VLAN ID EVC Service Multiplexing UNI A UNI attribute in which all CE-VLAN IDs are associated with a single EVC. (In this document ALL services implement All to One Bundling) Customer Edge (In this document CE is equivalent to Customer Premises) Customer Edge VLAN ID (In this document a CE-VLAN ID is equivalent to QinQ VLAN tag) Ethernet Virtual Connection (In this document an EVC is equivalent to a Channel Partner VLAN) A UNI service attribute in which the UNI can be in more than one EVC instance. (In this document NO services implement Service Multiplexing) User Network Interface (UNI) - The physical demarcation point between the responsibility of the Network Service Provider (CityLink) and the responsibility of the User. (In this document a UNI is equivalent to an Ethernet Port) 6
