Classroom activities include networking and marketing, human resources, financial management, literacy, work readiness, and job retention skills. Program will run from July 6, 2009 through August 14, Target areas: The Mon and Upper Allegheny Valleys and foster youth City and County-wide. Target areas: facility is located at Duquesne University but can serve youth County-wide. Age range: High school students, 14 through 19 The Summer Youth Counselors Program is a 10-week Summer Camp in which participants work as youth counselors. Program includes leadership development, anger management, first aid certification, & money management. Possible scholarship assistance. Target areas: Wilkinsburg and surrounding communities, including Wilkinsburg High School and neighboring school districts. Number to be served: 12 The One Block Program is a five week neighborhood beautification and employment project that includes landscaping, painting, & general clean-up. Also includes lectures and instruction on environmental initiatives and sciences in the Allegheny County region. Target areas: Clairton and surrounding area. Age range: 14 through 24 2

Target areas: Braddock, Duquesne and surrounding Mon and Turtle Creek Valleys. Number to be served: 100 The Green Jobs Youth Employment Program is a six week program that operates in local parks. Participants serve as crew members working in teams or as conservation interns working directly on projects including green job work such as stemming hillside erosion, planting native trees, maintaining walking trails, tending urban farms, increasing biofuels production, recycling building materials, preventing pollution, saving energy and decreasing stormwater runoff. Target areas: serving youth throughout Allegheny County. Number to be served: 60 Age range: High school students, 14 through 19 3

Social activities and field trips also included. Target areas: Duquesne and surrounding areas.
