What is a scorecard? A scorecard strives to make data consumable for everyone. With its focus on graphical representation and at-a-glance viewing, any type of business user can benefit from retrieving information through a scorecard. Scorecards use dynamic graphing techniques and advanced visualizations to convey more meaning in less space. Users can view more of the data represented over time spans, all in one screen. 4

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Report Objects Panel What is a report object? An object is a data container that holds information to build your analysis. In the Report Objects panel, an object can either be an attribute or a metric. This icon represents a metric. Also known as the continuous variable. This icon represents an attribute. Also known as the discrete variable. Build your analytics report In Receivables analytics, there are three key tools that you will need to learn to build a comprehensive analysis: Data Pivoting: Rearrange the columns and rows in the grid, so you can view and segment data from different perspectives. View Filters: A view filter enables you to further narrow down a report view, using only those objects in the Report Objects window. Page-By: Enables you to select and display subsets of your analysis results as separate views. Data Pivoting Data pivoting refers to the process of rotating the view of data. In databases where there is a high volume of data, it is often very difficult to get a view of a particular data or report for analysis. Data pivoting helps overcome this by displaying the data in a compact format that allows you to find relationships within the data that are otherwise difficult to see because of the amount of detail. You can pivot data in a report using any of the following methods: Drag and drop objects (from the Report Objects panel) to move them within the report window. Right-click an object in the report window, point to Move and select an option from the menu. In this analysis, we have the Transaction Count broken down by Quarter. Using the Report Objects panel, you can add/remove attributes from this analysis. From the Report Objects panel, choose Month and drag the attribute to the Report window (see below). Insert the Month attribute between Quarter and Transaction Count column. The insertion point is always indicated by a solid yellow line. 9

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality To perform a drag and drop action: 1. Move the mouse or other pointing device to the object (e.g., Month attribute). 2. Press, and hold down, the button on the mouse or other pointing device to grab the object. 3. Drag the object to the desired location. 4. Drop the object by releasing the button. The result is shown. Adding the Month attributes allows receivables analytics to expand the data and show you the transaction count by Month. In addition to the Drag-and-Drop ability, users can also utilize the contextual menu when selecting row headings (shown below) To bring up the contextual menu: 1. In the Report Window, move the mouse or other pointing device to the desired row heading. Select a column by clicking on the row headings. Perform a right mouse click to initialize the contextual menu. Go to <Move> to expand the menu. 2. Press the left button on the mouse or other pointing device to select the object. 3. Press the right button on the mouse or other pointing device to bring up the contextual menu. Here is what each option does: To Page-by Axis: Moves the selected object to the Page-By axis (see Using Page-By). To Columns: Moves the selected object to the column heading. Left: Moves the selected object to the left of the current position. Right: Moves the selected object to the right of the current position. 10

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Using Filters Filters are used to narrow the results of an analysis to a subset of data. For example, one might apply a filter to show only CHECK transactions or transaction amounts greater than 100,000. To apply a filter to an analysis, users must first create the filter criteria. You can create filter criteria in a report using any of the following methods: In the Data Toolbar, click the Add View Filter condition ( ) icon. Right-click an object in the report window, point to Filter On. In the report window, click Add Condition in the View Filter panel. Example of building filter criteria Build a simple filter criteria using the grid to the right as an example. The report below shows transaction count by Year. 1. Initiate a View Filter command using any of the methods outlined above. 2. Select the attribute to filter from the Filter On: drop-down. Select Year. 3. Define the criteria using the Select In List option. Choose any value(s) from the Available panel and move them to the Selected panel by pressing the move arrow button. In this example, we will select Execute the view filter by pressing the checkbox button. The analysis will filter the data and show the transaction count for Year (2012) only. 11

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Creating dynamic filter criteria In some scenarios, selecting values in the list may not be sufficient, especially if you want the filter to be dynamic. For example, show transaction count by Year greater than or equal to To achieve this condition, we will use the Qualify method. 1. Follow Step Follow Step Select the Qualify option and choose the proper Operators ( Greater than or equal to ) and input 2011 in the value box. 4. Execute the view filter by pressing the checkbox button. The analysis will filter the data and show the transaction count for Year Greater Than Or Equal To 2011 only. Using Page-By When you have a very large set of data it can be easier to work with that data by grouping it into logical subsets, and viewing only one of the subsets at a time. To group data into subsets, you can use the page-by feature. The subsets you separate your business data into are called pages, and you then page your way through the analysis, one data subset at a time. You can create a Page-By in a report using any of the following methods: Drag (from the Report Objects panel or Report window) and drop an object onto the Page-By panel. Right-click an object in the report window, point to Move and select the To Page-By Axis option from the menu. Note: Page-By is found under the options drop down. 12

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Example: The analysis below shows transaction count by Year and Quarter. You can drag and drop year back into the Report Objects panel to view the Transaction Count by Quarters, one Year at a time. All the data from the report is still present, but is now grouped into smaller, more manageable pages. The Year attribute now is a drop-down and you can easily change the page by changing the Year value to 2012 to show only 2012 transaction count data. Exporting or Saving Your Report In this step, you ll learn how to export your analysis into common formats or save them online for reference. Exporting your analysis Here are ways to export the current analysis: Click View in the toolbar and choose the Export icon Click View in the toolbar and choose the PDF icon 13

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality The Export Options Choose what to export Clicking on the Export icon will trigger the Export option dialog window. In this dialog window, you ll be provided with various options to customize the export output. Choose the format to export Choose other export options Execute the export The PDF Options Choose what to export Clicking on the PDF icon will trigger the PDF option dialog window. In this dialog window, you ll be provided with various options to customize the export output. Change pagination options Execute the export 14

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Saving your report Receivables analytics contains the capability to store/save your analytics reports online. To save the analysis you re currently working on, follow these steps: In the toolbar, click the ( ) icon. A Save As Dialog appears. Select the folder you want to save the analysis in and provide a name and description to help you identify the report. Click OK to confirm and the analysis will be saved in the chosen Save in location. Choose where to save your analysis Create a new folder Private/Shared Reports Receivables Analytics gives the user the ability to save the analysis as private (only viewable by the user) or shared (viewable by others). To save your analysis as a shared report, choose Shared Reports in the Save in drop-down, select the user group folder that you want to share this analysis with and click OK. Other users within that user group will immediately be able to access that analysis. Input a name and description of your analysis Saved analysis appears here Click OK to confirm Advanced options The Save in location can be accessed via the Reports & Analytics dropdown on the Home Screen or the Reports dropdown in analytics. 15

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Using Charts In this step, you will learn to use charts as part of your analysis. Receivables analytics provides tools for creating your own charts to present some or all of the data. Use a chart when you want to visually represent trends or relationships that may be more difficult to see when data is presented in a grid. Viewing Graph Reports In receivables analytics, you can view any report as a graph by clicking either of the following icons on the toolbar while viewing a report. To show a Graph view To show a Graph and Grid view Example: In this example, we have a grid report showing transaction count broken down by Quarters. Select Graph and Grid view by clicking on the ( ) icon in the toolbar. Hint: Each Graph report consists of categories and series: Categories: Refers to the data along the X-axis of a graph report. Corresponds to the rows in a grid report and usually represents attributes. Series: Refers to the data along the Y-axis of a graph report. Corresponds to the columns in a grid report and usually represents metrics. 16

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality The Graph Bar When working on graphs, the Graph tab is available on the toolbar. Clicking on the Graph tab will initiate the Graph bar shown above. Adding objects to a graph report As you work with the graph report, you may need to analyze data that is not currently in the report. In this case, you must add objects to the grid report so that the graph report is changed accordingly. You can add data to a report by using the Report Objects to add attributes, metrics and other objects. Example: You have a grid report that shows transaction count by Quarters. You re interested to view this data graphically and also interested in seeing this data at the month level. To achieve this, you may choose to add the Month attribute to your report. The graph report now shows transaction count broken down by Month. 17

ReceivablesVision Quick Start Guide Getting Started Learn the Analytics Functionality Using Data Pivoting, Filters and Page-By on Graph Reports As with any receivables analytics report, you can also utilize the different analytics tools that you ve learned to make your analysis even more relevant and useful. Exporting or saving your graph report You can save your graph report within receivables analytics by clicking on the ( the methods outlined to save your graph report. ) icon. Follow Graph styles Area An area graph emphasizes changes in data values by connecting various data points along a line, and then filling in the portion of the graph beneath the line. Area graphs can often resemble a mountain range of high peaks and low valleys. Minimum Requirement: One attribute, one metric Bar Also known as a column graph, allows you to easily compare a wide range of data values. Minimum Requirement: One attribute, one metric Line A line graph is a type of graph that highlights trends by connecting lines between different data points. Minimum Requirement: One attribute, one metric Pie A pie chart is a style of graph in which data values are represented as proportionally sized slices of a pie. Minimum Requirement: One attribute, one metric 18
