AnsweringMachineEmulation AnswerMachineEmulationsimulatesatelephoneansweringmachineallowingtheuser tolistentothemessageorliftthehandsettospeaktothecalleronceacallisforwarded tovoic .simplypressthevoic button,whichwillflashindicatingthatacaller isleavingamessage. AttendantAdministration Theattendantcanperformspecificadministrativefunctions,suchasselectingthe operatingmode;day,nightortemporary. 6

7 AttendantExtension(Programmable) Oneprimaryattendantisprovidedinthesystemforsupportofnecessaryserviceslike LineRecall,DialingZeroandManualNightServiceOperation.Asecondoralternate attendant(seealternateattendantpage6)positionmaybeestablishedforcommon sharingofincomingtelephone(trunk)linecallsorloadsharingduringpeaktraffic periods. AttendantRecall Callsplacedonhold,willrecalltheextensionthatplaceditonhold.Ifthecallgoes unanswered,theattendantextensionwillring. AutomatedAttendant AutoAttendantprovidesfunctionalitythatcaneliminatetheneedforattendant personnel.throughagreeting,callersaregivenalistofoptionstodialtheirdesired destination,suchasanextensionnumber. AutomatedAttendantPersonalizeGreetings Thisallowsyoutorecordapersonalizedgreetingthatwillbeplayedtocallerswhenthe automatedattendantanswersacall.allxbluesystemsallowyoutorecordadayanda nightgreeting;someallowyoutohavespecialweekend,holidayortemporary greetings.thexb50has10separateautomatedattendantgreetings,whichcanbe personalizedandplayedtooneormorecallers.inaddition,thexb50canbe programmedtoplayadifferentgreetingtoasmanyas8differenttelephonelines. AutomatedAttendantCustomizableMenus TheXb50comeswith10differentcustomcallrouting(singledigitdialing)menus,which allowsacallertoenterdigitstoroutetheircall.thisisfrequentlyusedto Press1for sales,2forsupport,etc. AutomaticDaylightSavings TheX16willsynchronizethedateandtimeusingthetelephonelineprovider scallerid information.whenconnectedtotheinternetthexb44andxb50usesnetworktime Protocol(NTP),whichisautomatic. AutomaticHold AutomaticholdallowsextensionuserstojumpfromoneTelephone(Trunk)Linedirectly toanothertelephone(trunk)line,placingeachlineonhold,withoutpressingthehold button.thisallowsbusyextensionusers,suchastheattendant,toanswermultiplecalls veryquickly. 7

8 AutomaticLineSelect(Hotline) Usersmayselecthowtheiridleextensionfunctionswhenliftingthehandsetorpressing thespeakerbutton.anextensioncanbesettoaccessaspecificoutsideline,aline group,orleaveitemptysothatitaccessesintercomautomaticallywhengoingoffhook orpressingthespeakerbutton. AutomaticMute Toensurethatacallerdoesnotoverhearaprivateconversationstakingplaceinan office,youmaysetyourextensiontoautomaticallythe AutomaticMute function.this allowsthecallertomakea onewayannouncement andrequiresthecalledpartyto presstheirmutebuttontoanswerthecallingparty. AutomaticPrivacy Allextensionsconversationsareconsideredprivate.Therefore,nootherextensionscan joininonaconversation.(seeprivacy/privacyreleasepage21) AutomaticRecord Whenthisfeatureisenabledforanextension,alltelephonelinecallswillautomatically berecordedandstoredintheextension svoic box. BacklitDisplay TheX16,Xb2020andXb44telephonesallhavebacklitdisplays.TheX16hasavibrant bluebacklitdisplaywhereasthexb44andxb50havealargegreen6blinebacklitdisplay. BusyLampField(BusyTelephone(Line)Indication) Abusylampisapreprogrammedbutton,whichisavisualindicationshowingthestatus ofanextensionortelephonelineonthesystem.theassociatedledwillbelitsolid indicatingthattheextensionortelephonelineisbusy. BusyRingAllow/Deny(CallWaiting) Extensionusersmayselecttoallowordenyadditionalcallstoringtheirextensionwhen theyarebusy.whenbusyringisallowed,extensionuserswillhearaspecialbeeptone whenasecondcallringsattheirextension.ifdenied,thecallwillfollowtheextension s callforwardingparameter(seecallforwardpage9). Forking% CallForwardCallforking isanxb50featurethatrequiresanxblue(siptrunk) TelephoneLineService,forexternalnumber,whichringsboththeinternal extensionandthepreprogrammedexternaldestinationsuchasacellularor hometelephone.callforwardcallforkingdoesnotrequiresiptrunkswhen forwardingfromoneextensiontoanother.inaddition,thexb50allowsyouto programasecondnumber,whichisreferencedifthefirstnumberisbusy. Idle% IdleForward featurewillforwardallcallspresentedtoanextension,onlywhen itisidle.analerttonemaybeheardindicatingthatanewcallisbeingroutedto theforwardeddestination. 11 CallLogs Telephone(System( TheXb44andXb50havepersonalcalllogsthatincludeincoming,outgoing,missedcalls. TheX16hasaninboundCallerIDlogandwillstoreupto6outbound(LastNumber Redialed)numbers. CallPark CallParkoftencalled orbit isaspeciallocationwithinthesystemthatallowsauserto dialacodeandplaceorretrieveatelephonelinecallfromanyextensionwithinthe system. CallPickup Allowsanextensionusertopickupanaudiblyringingcallfromdifferentextension.Call Forwardingmayaffecttheoperationofthisfeature. CallTimer Thedisplayswillshowthelengthoftimeeachcallhasbeenactive. CallTransfer Callcanbeansweredatoneextension,orbytheautomatedattendantandtransferred toadifferentdestination. CallWaiting Therearetwotypesof CallWaiting,internal(extensiontoextension)andexternal Telephone(Trunk)Line(mayrequireasubscriptionfromyourtelephonelineprovider). Inbothcases,theuser,whileonacall,willreceiveaspecialbeeptoneindicatingthata secondcalleristryingtocontactthem. CallWaitingCallerID Ifthistelephonelineproviderfeatureisenabled,theX16willreceiveCallWaitingCaller ID,whichallowstheusertoseewhoiscallingwhileonacall.Theextensionusermay usetheflashcommandswitchbetweencalls. CallerID AllXBLUENetworks telephonesystemsshould,ifthetelephonelinefeatureisenabled, receivedcallerid,bothnameandnumber.thecalleridisstoredina CallLog that allowstheusertoreviewreceivedcalls. 11

CustomCallRouting(SingleDigitDialing) TheXb50has10CustomCallRouting,oftencalled SingleDigitDialing Menusthatcan becustomizedbythesystemadministrator.forexample,press1forsales,2for support,etc. Department(Virtual)Mailboxes Adepartment(virtual)mailboxisaprogrammablelocationthatallowsuserswithouta physicalextensiontohaveamailboxonthesystemandcanbeprogrammedononeor moretelephoneextensions.onceprogrammed,thisbuttonwilllighttheledassociated withthebutton,onalltelephoneswiththatbuttonappearance,whennewmessages aredelivered.theledisextinguishedoncesomeoneaccessesthevoic box.
